Pretty much same complaint. They were telling me i could avoid court if i send them thru a walmart or whatever and call so and so with some numbers.
1. A true collection agency has to send you paperwork
2. Then after 30 days you get a call, or 45 days.
3. There is no debtors prisons anymore!!
I challenge them all the time when they call for names, and "inspector" numbers, and usually get sworn at and hung up on.

Called three times this morning requesting their company name. Was assertive that as they can call me, my grandmother, and my mother as well as threaten me with legal action they can give me their company name. Each time was refused and hung up on. Third call was told, finally, that all calls are recorded and I was to not call them anymore.

Well it is now 9 minutes to 5, I have received no paperwork. I laugh at the thought of them going to my employer because they will dont know me by my old name and I already know they wont talk to them. I also decided to check out my credit reports today......surprising.....There is NOTHING on there from that bank!!! The message they left on my mother's VM was the same one they left on my own and according to my mother they were very intimidating to my 80 year old grandmother.

I am calling that number they gave me as soon as it is past 5 pm and will put it on speaker and see if we can record the convo with a second phone. Frankly at this point I am PISSED!!! To think these people called my grandmother and intimidated her is inexcusable!! The fact that there is nothing on my credit report means that they have no basis for threatening a lawsuit and I want their company name and the name of the who ever I talk to. I am just so not ok with this and it is illegal.

I got the same call yesterday referencing me by my maiden name which I haven't had in some time and ignored it because I thought it was a scam.  Just received a "follow up call" today from the same person stating they have my SSN, employer and current address and the "documents" will be delivered tomorrow.  Called from a blocked number and didn't identify themselves whatsoever.  We'll see if these "documents" come.

Got two calls today with a message saying that they were calling in regards to legal documents with my name, from my first marriage from five years ago, and my SSN. Left this number and a claim number but nothing identifying them. Called them back and they said it was for a case from a bank years ago that I admittedly do owe money to. They have my current address but not my current name. Just got a call from my mother from her work.....either my aunt or grandmother received a call from this number saying they were from our county court. They never identified themselves to me as the county court.

They have called me twice. I will be reporting them to the FTC, as their number is blocked.
