"Mundo Media: Alerts - 76199 YourTrueCrush" must be a scam. Their "contact" information is supposed to be help@mobile-media-solutions.com, phone number 855-855-5204. It's time to report them to the Better Business Bureau, and this is why:

On October 19, I got an unsolicited text message to receive a free iPhone. The message was conversational, as if the person had just won and was sharing the information. I called Sprint to find out if the 10-digit number was legitimate or a scam. The Sprint customer service person looked into it and a few minutes later said that the message was from a Sprint affiliate.

Wary but enticed by the prospect of the iPhone, I clicked on the link in the text message. From there I went through a series of screens that at first mentioned the iPhone, then asked for name and address, and then continued on with further screens that had nothing whatsoever to do with Apple Inc. There were q&a surveys, etc., so I decided not to continue.

For the next week I received unsolicited calls from college recruiters and telemarketers. I called Sprint to have my phone block unsolicited calls. I notified Sprint that the "affiliate" was not legitimate and I was being called by parties unknown. I wanted them to block all unsolicited texts. They told me that a block was put on my phone.

I got two more texts. I called Sprint again, and after several minutes I was told again that all unsolicited texts would be blocked. I got one more three days later.

Today I received a bill from Sprint charging me $9.99 for "Mundo Media: Alerts - 76199 YourTrueCrush."

I called immediately. After talking with a more knowledgeable customer service rep, I was told that Mundo Media was a "Premium Service" and that the 5-digit code 76199 YourTrueCrush was not a Sprint affiliate. He did not know why the last customer service rep told me that it was.

He removed the $9.99 charge and saw that only the texts that I had received before were blocked. He then put a block on the entire account (which is what I wanted in the first place). He told me that I should not receive further calls/texts, but to call Sprint right away if I do.

These people are taking phone customers' personal information and probably selling it. I am going to change my number. It's a shame, because it's a great number. Something for nothing. Duh.

Got this number after submitting my cell phone number in response to a free $1,000 gift card from Victoria's Secret for a pin number.  Then I reply with STOP in order not to get charged by AT&T.  Grrr!!
