I too have been being harassed by a company claiming to be Bailey and Rowe several times during my work day.  When I question who they are representing, or ask for information, their location, they either put me on hold and never come back, or hang up.....

Your caller was, most likely, one of a bunch of intellectually, morally & ethically challenged bottom-feeders operating in the Charlotte, NC area. The AGs offices in Raleigh are very aware of them. This bunch of scammers know it. They're getting very fidgety & are trying to scam as much as they can while doing their best to stay hidden. Ignore them. Their day is coming.
Be Safe. Be Aware.

For at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.

Some of the people they are calling do not owe a debt.  Others they are calling have already settled their debt with the organization who owns the accounts. Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group.  Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own.  In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.

Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot) or Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station or a Peachtree Road Address). They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. Debt Collector
I got a call from this number, and they left a voice message saying they were looking for information about how to find ME. I have had many calls in the past from these people from different phone numbers, and they ALL try to say I owe a bill that I don't owe, and that they are going to take legal action against me. When I ask them questions about who they are, and who they represent, they hang up on me. Finally, about a month ago, I answered one of their calls thinking they were a client (I have quite a few out-of-state clients), and asked if this was the phone number for me by name. Well, since anyone that I would expect to be calling would not ask such a question, I assumed that it was someone that I did not want to verify my information with...so I said, NO - it is not, and please don't call me again. So now, they aren't sure that it's my number, and are calling it anyway leaving messages that they are trying to locate me, lol. (Hey, they're screwing with everyone else, so why not screw with them a bit?) All I can figure, is that they either hacked a payday loan company's database, or that payday loan company went out of business and sold all their client information to them (I'm thinking the latter). The payday loan company that I had a loan with was paid off over 9 years ago (the one they had mentioned in the past), and they had absolutely NO REASON to be calling me. As a matter of fact, I have not had a conventional checking account since 2002, I have a paperless checking account with a debit card that I have been using since 2006, so I have been totally "cash and carry" and don't even have the ability to set up a payday loan (my online bank won't allow them for several reasons). So I had told these people that they were totally barking up the wrong tree with me, because I don't have the ability to set up a payday loan, and therefore could not possibly owe anyone for one. That STILL didn't deter them from calling me! -- The best things that you can do with these callers are: 1. Don't answer calls that you don't recognize. Let it go to voice mail, then look it up online to see if it belongs to a scam caller or not. 2. If you accidentally answer one of their calls, NEVER verify that they are calling the right number OR your social security number if they rattle it off to you (they had mine, which also makes me think that someone that I did business with in the past sold them my info). Deny that you are the person they are looking for (it slows them down a bit) 3. NEVER give your personal information to ANYONE over the phone, whether it be these clowns, or some company that you think might be legitimate. Any company that you've actually done business with will have your correct mailing address and other information, so anyone that asks for personal information over the phone is running a scam and fishing for info on how to harass you more. 4. Install a call-blocking app on your phone (if they're calling your cell phone) like CALL CONTROL. Once you've established that the number is one that you don't want to be receiving calls from, BLOCK THE NUMBER and BLACKLIST it so that other users of that app will have that "bad number" info included in the app's database. With CALL CONTROL, you can either completely block the number, or have it shoot straight to your voice mail. I do the latter, just in case I'm mistaken about the number, and it actually belongs to a client...that way they can leave me a message and let me know who they are. Once a the number has been flagged by the call-blocking app, it may ring once or twice, and then is either blocked or sent to your voice mail. That, at least, cuts down on the annoyance factor from the caller. By taking these measures, I have cut their calls down to 1 or two a month vs several a day. As long as they never get a human being on the phone, and only get voice mail, it will stay that way. The minute you personally answer one of their calls, the incessant calling will start up again.

Just receviced a call from this number on my cellphone, (which isnt in my name), I don't answer calls from unknown numbers, send it straight to V/M, a recording stated they were looking for an individual (gave person name), they didn't state who they were but requested that if I had information on this individual to call them with the info or to forward this message to the person. I have gotten these types of calls before and so have members of my family. They seem to come around Christmas time and tax season. Hence, how you know it nothing more then a scam, looking for money from people, cause these are the times most people have extra cash. If this is a true law office or law agency or debt collector, they would be aware of the Fair Debt Collection Act and when you proceed to tell them about the law and your rigths. they claim you are threating them.  My advice is to report them ASAP, they are using illegal methods to locate you or the person they are looking for.

Yes they called me to saying the same s***. Watch out for them and other like Harding &  associates, Goldman and associates. They call from several different numbers. I had first fell victim and believed the s*** they ended up getting 200$ out of me til they f****d up and tried collecting the debt from another number and another firm. So I did my research and they are frauds.

Received a call today asking for my daughter but my husband had been bothered at one time with this outfit. Made threats that she is filing charges against my daughter and she might want to call. This one is going by the name of Victoria Risso at vaugh and associates   855-860-2973. my daughter owes no one but used that check smart to cash her payroll check !!!!
So add this phone number and person to the collection. I also have turned this in to Ohio attorney generals office.

I got a recording that I took in a threatening way.  They said they have files and they wanted to know my whereabouts.
Called from 1 (855) 860-3119
Asked me to call back at 1 (855) 643-7815
Reading other complaints it seems to go back to Vaughn and Associates.  Someone even mentioned they hacked their checking account.  They had better not touch my money or trying to intimidate me either!!!!

Get their company name, mailing and physical address.  Send them a cease and desist letter, certified mail/return receipt - so they can't say they never received it.  (On the off-chance the letter is "returned to sender" or "refused" - do not open the letter - and keep it as evidence that it was refused.)  You should make clear that you will seek legal action against them if they call you again.  You would have a claim under both the FDCPA and the TCPA, since you are not the alleged debtor they are looking for and they are still calling.
