I too, have been receiving calls. Say they are with the Office of Compliance and Safety. They state we are scheduled for an inspection, that it is past due, yet they do not know the name of the owner?
| eric 2013-10-16 00:05:27 Unknown |
same message on 10-15-2013 same number but extension 708. name was marissa Collins so she said saying I need to be in compliance at my shop and for me to buy Workers rights employment posters for $189. Yeah OK. I told her I never heard of this and I would find out. No one has ever came to my shop asking for this and I work for myself anyways.

It has nothing to do with government shutdown. The Do Not Call Registry does not Accept Business phone numbers. Private/ residential only.
| Anonymous 2013-10-04 16:17:01 Telemarketer |
I receive calls from this number AT LEAST twice daily. They always ask for the owner and claim they are from the Office of Compliance. NOT TRUE. They are trying to sell. Government shutdown is not allowing me to add the business # to the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. Either way that probably will not stop them. Do not fall for this scam! When I took a message the call back number was 855-885-9098. EXT. 711. BEWARE OF THIS NUMBER!

Got a call left on our answering machine from this number today. Caller indentified himself as David Hall and demanded to speak to the person who used to live next door to us and who had used our phone number when he didn't have a phone. Something about charges have been filed and this was his only notice to respond, also wanted his address so papers could be served. Yeah, right. As others have pointed out, you don't notify someone in advance that papers are going to be served on them. Definitely sounds like a scam to get money out of frightened people.

Woman called my cell 4 times and then my job 2 times. Usual scare tactics. Claiming to come out to my place of business or home with the police and serve me. If you are going to get served by the police or even a server processor, they are NOT going to call and give you a heads up! I asked what company she was with. She refused to tell me. She said her name was Cortney something and that it was her real name. Said she was going to keep calling me and embarass me on my job when she served me and to have my ID ready when she got there to make sure I was who they were looking for. Yeah, okay. Then she asked me for my address and work address. If you are going to serve me, wouldn't you already have all that information?? She said she would keep calling until she spoke with my manager or HR. I didn't give her any information. She said I could only say one thing... that I wanted the information and that I had a paper and pen. I said you don't tell me what to say. She keep repeating that I had two choices. I said you don't tell me what I can and cannot do. I said I will contact the BBB and the attorney general's office regarding you and your scare tactics. She got pissed and said she was on the way and hung... Yeah, okay... I will be here waiting BI***! So after she hung up, I called the number that she left on my VM of my cell phone (855)- 885-4878 and it went to some voicemail that said "Thank you for calling Customer Service. Please enter the phone number you dialed when you placed your African Mango something or the other... WTF. SCAM!!

I got the same call just now asking about my business and if I was the owner. The person sounded from another country and the line was real fuzzy. I hung the phone up right after he said it was being recorded. Could not understand what he was saying

Continue to get unsolicited calls from 855-885-4457 and other out-of-state numbers. They never leave a voicemail and I'm not going to answer a call from a number I don't recognize. I've been on the Do Not Call Registry ever since I got my phone number.

Got a call from this number a few times already also from 866 225 5359. I only answered the first time they called. They wanted to verify that I was the owner of my internet business. The woman had a very heavy accent and there was a lot of fuzziness in the background. That gave me the first hint that this might be a foreign call which usually yells out "SCAM" to me. When I told her that it was me. She then went to tell me her name something phony sounding like Kelly Fox or something and that they wanted to offer me an advertisement package or something, but that they needed to verify some information. I told her I was in the middle of work and could not take her call at that moment. And that's when I researched the number online which brought me to this website. I knew something wasn't right from the beginning.....and this website just confirmed it. Just ignore their calls...they'll stop calling soon enough. Thank you for this website.....in this day and age we need to start watching each others backs.

This # has called me 4 times in the last week and a half. I have requested twice now to be removed from their list and the second time the caller hung up on ME before I was done telling him to remove me from the list!! What @ssholes - STOP SPAMMING ME! When you call back to make sure they do it, you get, "I"m sorry, the user's mailbox cannot accept any more messages"

When I call it back, I only get a portion of the prerecorded message, it sounds like the beginning of it is truncated. It begins, "...US directory dot com, online version of the yellow pages for "the setup of your preferred business listing", asks you to leave a message and then says the mailbox is full. I believe that is an auto-dialer that hangs up unless there is a human answering.

Had two calls today one from 855-885-4457 and 855-405-7942. Was told this was an independent locator and to hold the line. I was transfered to a Mr. Daniel Williams (if that is his real name). I played dunb for a few minutes to acertain what the call was about. He claimed to be a law office handling mediation between myself and a company (Pay Day Lender) who has filed a fruad suit against me and I could avoid high court costs if I settled the debt with him over the phone. I demanded written proof that he owns the debt and he said that the only paper work they would release to me was the court papers. I could avoid that by paying them or agreeing to a payment plan. Well, I know the law and demanded that they follow the law, that collection companies had to comply in writing if I ask for proof they own the debt. He said they had bought the debt from Arrowhead Investments. That they were a law firm. Law firms do not buy debts the represent companies or individuals. This is clearly a "lets threaten her" so she will cave and pay. Not this old broad, I know the law. He got so frustrated with my demand to have everything in writing as per the law and he hung up on me. Beaware of the tactics of bottom feeder collection companies. They start out with very intimidating information that is not true. He said they were Allstate something - does not sound like a law firm does it?
