Just received a call form Nationwide 844-205-6998. Informing me of a debt that needs to be settled today or I would go picked of for failure to pay a date back in 2010. I explain, I do not owe anyone and please stop calling me. Called back on several occasions wouldn't give me a name. I hung up!

The names of the two guys running this scam are:

Justin Tata

Jamie C.o.o.n.s (apparently the comment filter thinks this is a racial epithet)

They are out of Tonawanda, New York

Got the same call today from a guy who left the same message on my cell phone from the same place about my daughter. What can be done to stop this?

For at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employers threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe).  Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested.  The threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.

Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot).  They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area.  The scammers are using the following business names

Sanderson Blaine & Associates
McKenzie Reid Associates
Kennedy, Kline, & Associates

Lady by the name of Wanda Straw with McKinney and Associates called my mothers house and left a nasty threatening message saying that she was an attorney and that I was being sued. I called her back and told her I know my rights and that she had violeted them. She said she will see me in court. I told her I will send all information to my State Attorneys General Office.

this is my most recent call to them........This number left a message at my mothers place and I called back.....she answered investigations and I asked who I was speaking too...she asked if I had a case number....I told her this was the second time calling this place back and waaalaah they couldn't find me.....she asked me for my mothers phone number and I gave her the area code that was it she should have it if their system is working....she started to stumble over a social security number fumbled it totally then asked if I was born on 11-24-64 I replied NO since its not my birthdate!!! She stated she didn't call and I asked her for the company name at which time she told me to hold on and I listened to elevator music....that should have given them enough time to get the right phone number if its something legit.....shaking my head in disgust!!!

I received a phone call on Saturday from my brother with a message to call these folks...so I did and they answered investigations. I replied is this the FBI and he said no. he then stated it was some type of associates and I gave him my name and waalah he couldn't find it......he advised me to the next time they call to take my brothers name off their list......funny thing my mother who lives 6 states away just called me to tell me they just called her with another extension and they stated investigations and asked if she knew me...she said yes (obviously) and they gave her this other number of 855-966-6246.... here we go again I am calling in a few and again this time I will mention harassment by telecommunications!!

A message was left on my answering machine from John Deluka who said he was a legal courier notifying me he will be executing a legal document on Monday June 24, 2013 unless I contacted 855-966-3768  with docket #LCS9XXXX. When my wife called the phone was answered with "Litigations", didn't receive a name (Paul Angelo) until I said l needed time to think about the call. I was told I was being sued by HSBC Bank for $300 but if I signed the documents it would $1714.  They were willing to make arrangements to pay the $300 in 2 monthly installments of $150, IF we gave them our banking information right then. We told him we'd call back, which we have no intention of doing. We will wait to see if the courier shows up and take it from there.

A message was left on my recorder stating that Mr. Shanahan, a legal courier was giving notice that he was executing a legal document and will be delivering the certified notice of intent to appear in litigation.  The filing party number was 855-966-3768 with docket number of LCS9xxxx.  The certified notice would be delivered at 3 PM and if I was not planning to be at home to call the filing party's number.  My son also called me to say he received the same exact message from Mr. Shanahan, a legal courier.  Believing this a fraud, I did not call the 855 number.  My lawyer advised me to accept the notice if delivered.  If it is delivered and still looks like a scam, I'm calling my lawyer.

Received a message from an unknown number.  It was a "Legal Courier" who advised he was serving me with an "intent to take action" and providing me with the number 855-966-3768.  I called the number where a gentleman said that he was with "National Arbitration" out of Washington D.C., which was working on behalf of Cash Net USA They also called my sister-in-law on her cell phone.

If this is about a payday loan I only had one and it was paid off in good standings.

Received a message from an unknown number.  It was a "Legal Courier" who advised he was serving me with an "intent to take action" and providing me with the number 855-966-3768.  I called the number where a gentleman said that he was with "National Arbitration" out of Washington D.C., which was working on behalf of Cash Net USA. I checked up on National Arbitration - it doesn't exist.  Apparently they are scammers trying to collect a payday loan that my wife allegedly took out.  She never did.  When I asked him to verify the debt he said the letter would do that.  I asked if that meant the contract was included and he said no, it would cost me $350.00 obtain a copy of the contract!  I laughed and explained that that is in direct violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, at which time he said no it's not.  I laughed and asked him when the debt was incurred, and he stated that it was in 2010.  I asked if they were now trying to enforce a contract for a payday loan that would be illegal in this state.  He became angry.  I told him that I will see his process server tomorrow, at which point he said, "Good, I hope he smacks you around with the letter!"  I laughed, he called me a do***ebag and hung up....

These people are flat out criminals!
