I just recieved a call from 858-576-7366 some one saying they are from Union bank wanting to verify my address and or birthdate as a courtesy call to remind me of morgage payment due. I gave her my address and birthdate only. I hope there is no problem giving that information. How did they get my name and number?

I am getting calls several times per week from 858-576-7366 and they say it is Union Bank calling for Karen Cuttoff.  They leave a call back number, but there is never an answer.  I had 2 other phone numbers they were using in the past, and I had Verizon call block them, only to have them call from a different number.  I have used 2 of my 5 free call blocks allowed by Verizon, and they say they can't do anything about it.  Very annoying as the calls usually are made when I am the busiest.  How can we stop this nonsense?  It appears it has been going on for several years.

the telephone number: 858-576-7355 is originating from North San Diego County.  Although the caler that called me said it was Union Bank, when I called Union Bank, their Security and Risk Services department told me they do not have any departments in San Diego that would be calling customers, and they would NEVER ask a customer to provide account numbers or social security numbers in a phone cal, the bank warns customers on their website not to provide information on the phone.

If you read the posts, you will see that this phone number shows up asking people to confirm their internet information, and some of the reports say they think it's Union Bank.  I have a habit of making notes while I'm on the phone, so I had the guy's name, wrote down the number that showed on my screen, wrote down pertinent comments he made and noted the date and time of the call.  OK, most people don't do that, but I was able to report all of this information to the Fraud Investigation department of Union Bank, and they may be able to contact the police in San Diego and have them check it out.

Just so you know, Union Bank of California is headquartered in San Francisco, not San Diego.  

Be Very Careful of people seeking information on the phone.  Hang up yourself and then call the bank to see if there is a problem.  Just in case it really IS an employee of the bank, you can then tell their supervisor of their behavior and inappropriate questions so they can retrain this employee.

I welcome comments about this post.  Fraud is everywhere, sadly.  Protect yourself.  I think I'll go to just cash from now on.

I keep getting recorded messages for a "Richard Valentine" for months now from this number. I have tried calling the number back as it says it's "Union Bank" and sounds like they are trying to get money owed to them as it mentions it's "urgent" but to no avail. I am NOT this Richard nor do I even know a Richard. I would like the calls to stop, I don't appreciate phone calls that are not for me interrupting my precious time and waking my infant. Very annoying!

Report it to FCC. I get call from same number. FCC shall get busy finding this caller. I get call from same number, but asking for "Robert Sargent".

I recommend to listen full call and note down (or best is to record if possible) every details. And then report to http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

This number, 858-576-7366 as well as few in the similar number group, are owned by The Best Service Company, 10780 Santa Monica Blvd, LA, a collection company tied to creditors such as Union Bank In Ca..

Do not provide them any info when they call, refuse to speak with them, and if you do speak w/them indicate under Fed and CA law they are no longer to call you at your number or any others associated with you.

Woke us up early Sat morning and could not call this number back to find out who it was.... of course.  Another annoying scam.  And we are listed on the Do not Call list....

This is a SCAM. Do not return any calls from this number. This is NOT Union Bank. Trust no one!

I just started getting these phone calls and IT IS A FRAUD!!! I called the bank directly and verified that they don't make this kind of phone calls. They have all your info on data, so that they shouldn't be asking you for any and they would tell you the nature of the phone call if it is from the bank. The people who called me wouldn't tell me the nature of the phone call, saying that they can't unless I am willing to tell them my mother's maiden name or address. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO OUT!!!! If you want to make sure that there is nothing wrong with your accounts, just call the bank yourself and tell them that you have been receiving these phone calls and want to make sure that there is nothing wrong with your accounts.

I am having the same problem. They are trying to collect fees on transfer for an account that was closed for over 30 days and they reopened the account to allow the charges to go thru.

I RECEIVED LOTS OF THIS NUMBER EVEN AT 4 OCLOCK IN THE MORNING..!..? I NEVER PICK IT UP?... IT 'S WEIRD.!..

A young man calls, first my bus. phone, second my home phone.  He says it's Union Bank, and for security purposes wants me to give him last 4 numbers of social and last 4 numbers of checking account.  As you know, those numbers appear as XXXX on ATM receipts and bank deposit receipts.  The social might help in getting identity info from the bank if they had my name, account number and social ... so look out folks.  I called Union Bank's Risk Services 323-720-2100 (Security) and reported the calls. When I told him I don't give out info on the phone, give me a phone number to call back, he hung up.  Called home phone next, same opening, but said his name was "Rubio" and my cash reserve account had a problem.  Union Bank Risk Services checked everything out, said there was no employee named Rubio and my accounts had no problem.  Union Bank put an Alert Message on my accounts.  People:  DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION ON THE PHONE TO ANY CALLERS!  I went online, went to www.uboc.com and called the main corporate number to get transferred to Security.  Be Careful, there is a lot of fraud, internet fraud, computer fraud, check fraud, identity theft and all kinds of bad people out there.  Fortunately, as a former banker myself, I recognized it as a scam right away.

I'm pretty sure it's Union Bank of California. I closed my account with them because they had the worst customer service. They are trying to collect fees. Fat chance!

I get 35 calls a month from this number and they cut off the company message.

I have gotten at least a dozen calls from this number.  It says I need to update my internet information but it cuts off the name of the company so I have no idea what it is I'm updating information for.  Ugh!
