Politeness doesn't work. They ALWAYS call back! I can't count the number of times I've been polite, only to have the empty promise ("of course we'll put you on our do not call list") BROKEN the very next day! From here on out here's how we roll: First caller is treated courteously AND warned that this is the last time courtesy rules. The next time the F-bombs fall!

We are a market research company. The DNC list applies to telemarketers; we are not trying to sell you anything. We conduct surveys about your local grocery stores that you shop at, then that information is given to those stores in order to improve. We do have a classification section in which we ask demographics. These questions are optional and will not effect that questions you answered. We are legally allowed to call until ten o'clock PM, though we stop at 9:30 for your convenience. The hours of operation are mainly in late afternoon and evening because that is simply when most people are home. Several respondents take our survey a day, though majority of the numbers we call are voicemails or no answers. If we call you, you can simple tell us you are not interested. Thank you.

I have received multiple calls from this firm and they tell me that they are allowed to call. Where is the state attorney general's office personnel when you need them? Sirs is asking personal questions to satisfy their "clients" needs. Remove the Sirs research from making these calls!

Great, they are learning how to annoy large numbers of people while they are still young.

They kept calling so I cut my hands off, now I can't pick up the phone. Ha ha that will show them. I am typing with my baby toe.

Well all I can say is don't answer the phone. Data Acquisitionn is needed in our world so companies can improve products or services as well Social Science Research is needed. I don't get calls from many Research companies. Have your number unlisted. Stop signing up for raffles hard copy and online. These are sometimes ploys to gather info to sell as sample to the research companies. A lot of tims the list the researchers dial from are provided by the client which in a lot of cases are people you do business with. So quit crying and just don't answer the phone ding a ling.

If you call their number and press 9, you will hear that they are a survey company which is not covered by the do not call list.
So long as they are not selling you anything, they can do this.
Same with political calls who are asking for donations.
I do think the latter ought to be added to the DNC list as well.
I did not report them because some of the time I like to give my opinion.

Just called (5:30pm on the dot, Friday, May 4)
Noticed it simply said Kentucky so I didn't answer.
I get numerous junk calls all day every day. So frustrating, all I can say!

I keep getting calls from these people even though I'm on the do not call list and have ask them to take me off their call list many times. Also the people that said to just bend over so they can screw you and to take the survey so they won't call back are lying because they do call back again and again.

You should file a complaint on www.donotcall.gov so they can keep a record of every time this occurs.

This is a surveying company. I called the number back and they have an option to select (9) to find out why this number appeared on your caller ID. They are a surveying/polling company that will ask you questions about anything from where you shop to who you like in the upcoming elections. "That's all we do is ask you questions."

You are "partially" right...no one does call me at 3 am....BUT these people do choose to be in the business they are in, and if they don't want to be yelled at, find another line of work. People do not want to be bothered by strangers at 9 in the morning or 9 at night or any time in between.

STOP CALLING
clc 2012-03-13 18:12:23 Unknown
There are a lot of legit surveys out there, but anyone who calls you after 9 p.m. (or before 9 a.m.) is operating outside the law...they definitely should be reported to your state attorney general.
ccl 2012-03-13 18:10:28 Unknown
Good luck on that one -- your congressman/woman doesn't want to narrow the range because they all use results of phone polling. Why do you think the exception was allowed in the first place?
ccl 2012-03-13 18:08:46 Unknown
"Of all the insensitive things. I hope Kentucky gets hit with a tornado that kill 3,000 people
Yeah, that's real nice....& sensitive.

Tina -- they're legally allowed to call you from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. -- DNC does not apply to surveys.
ccl 2012-03-13 18:03:26 Unknown
Yes -- 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. are allowable for calling residential numbers -- anyone calling you outside those times is definitely NOT legit..
um 2012-03-13 18:02:35 Unknown
Chris isn't the one calling you, they hire people to make the phone calls.
previous employee 2012-03-13 18:00:22 Unknown
They won't run out of numbers. There are too many people who don't answer their phone and according to the rules, they have to call back as many times as the number is put back in until the quota is hit. If people answered their phone and POLITELY said "I don't want to take the survey" instead of saying "Call back later" or "Right now isn't convenient" they wouldn't keep calling. The people that work there aren't as thrilled to be calling you as you are to be getting their calls. Some people have no choice but to do the job because it's the only thing they can get and then people are claiming they want the companies to go out of business and complain later that there are no jobs in the country. How about just simply being polite about it or taking 10 minutes out of your life, as you probably did to write this message, and just co-operating and taking the survey? I'm glad I don't work there anymore because of the rules of having to keep calling back and bothering people and because of rude people, but at the same time people need to learn to be polite and decent.

No one calls your house at three in the morning. Did you ever think that these poor people who call you are only doing the job they were hired to do and they do not want to be yelled at my mean people just to provide an income for their kids and to pay bills.
