Children's Retirement/Fidelity calling about my mother's pension and her impending retirement next month. They wanted to make sure if she's still retiring - as she's changed her mind for the past 2 years. Once her termination papers has been signed and delivered to them, then they can disburse her (lump sum) pension payment to her.
FYI: A lot of employers use Fidelity to handle pension and benefits for their employees. Sometime they call from the plan's name in my mother's case: Children's - still a part of Fidelity.

It is legitimate. He is a rep for Fidelity trying to call me so all is good.

Follow up: After checking with Fidelity, turns out that everything was legitimate. I'm guessing they've farmed out some of their work.

Beware. Identified himself as Wes Edwards and claimed he was calling from Fidelity concering an asset transfer that was expected but hadn't gone through. Suggested that when I had checked into the matter to call him back at 1-800-248-4213, extension #3111. Don't know who he was, but everything financially was as it should be.
