These people who call from this number are very rude. Don't let them upset you and always stay in control. Ask them who they are before anything (first and last name) and get company info (location, address and full company name). Then ask them to send their request in writing. Let them know that's the only way you could help them. You never know who you're talking to over the phone, especially if they call you.

These people not only are trying to scam via calling people, but also sending out mass e mail pretending to be capital one so they can get passwords and social security numbers. Do not fall for anything like this, right away contact the real company and they will tell you its a scam. The real Capitalone  company is fully aware of this going on and they need to keep filing reports to put these people away!

I just blocked them.  I have windstream.  They called me 4 times today???  I never spoke to them, I just answered, said Hello, no one said anything so I hung up.  Blocked it, this should stop it.  Sounds like a scam

These people called my sister looking for me - only gave a name Brenda - no company.  My sister doesn't live around me and doesn't have the same last name so how they got her number is beyond me.

Check with your cell carrier to see if 'call block' is available.  I know that AT&T wireless lets me block up to 15 numbers from calling to my child's cell phone for $4.99 per month.  Similar thing happened and that $4.99 per month is well worth it and it is far less expensive than changing the phone number!  Hope this helps

recently got a new SIM card for an old cellphone for my daughter to carry with her for emergencies and as soon as it was activated these guys started calling her from 866-214-8706. I will try to catch the call myself today and explain to them that they are calling a 10 year olds cell and their quarry changed their number but I dont have high hopes. If i have to go stand in line to change this number just because I can't make a collections agency stop calling my daughter I'll be very upset.

I just received a call from 866-904-8706 and a girl answered the phone. She was so ignorant that I couldn't understand a word she said. I'm retired, 64 years old, handicapped and I've never owned a credit card. They keep calling and when I finally get to the phone and say hello, they hesitate and hang up. I've contacted them before and they keep telling me they're trying to reach a person that I've never heard of. 2 months ago they told me they'd stop harassing me but this was the 4th call since mid January. Very frustrating

Just got a call from a Very Rude Girl talking fast and asking me to verify my birthday, SS #.
I kept saying send me something in the mail.  You must have my address if you have my cell#.
She said Mam are you going to settly your acct. now.  I said what account she said Capital One and read an address back to me that I moved from 7 years ago.  I again said send me something in them mail and I will take it to my attorney.  Mam she said have you filed Backruptcy and I said no but that would not be your business anyway.  Don't talk to these people as long as I did.  I should have hung up to begin with.  I am sure they will call again and I will watch for this # 866-214-8706 and not answer the call.

Phone rang twice then they hung up. Doesn't matter anyway as I never answer the phone if I don't recognize the number on caller ID.

They called me claiming that I'd won a Lincoln Navigator and needed to call them back at that number...Yeah right.

Called asking about father in law. Don't know how they got our number though.

I just came home and had a message from a Tina Oakland saying it was very important that I call this number.  She didn't leave the name of her business and she used my proper name (no one calls me by my full first name unless they're trying to sell me something!) She spoke very fast and I had to listen to the message 3 times to get the number. I won't be calling her back.

This number has been repeatedly calling me today.  It only rings once or twice than hangs up with no message.

Received voice message from this number.  Only thing they said was "XXXX XXXXXX, call 1-866-214-8706. XXXX XXXXXX, call 1-866-214-8706."  I just called back today and this young smart mouth girl, probably half my age, didn't identify herself or her company, refused to listen and tried to over-talk me.  I finally decided this was a waste of time.  I told her any further inquiries would have to be in writing.  Very rude, unprofessional representative of this collections company.
