Called by this number once yesterday, twice today. Claimed to be doing an annual update on my merchant account. Talked to Mike personally and he gave me a lot of bull#@&%! Do they think we have been in business this long and are stupid enough to give out info?
Told him not to call back and he said he would call at a better time and hung up. I called back and left a message on his vmail and suggested again that he should not call back or he will be sleeping with the fishes...

Robert and Guy,

When you guys finish surfing the web for your own phone number, realize that you're calling outdated numbers. You have called me several times, with the same pitch, and you're calling for a business that apparently used to have my CELL PHONE NUMBER. I don't own a business, I don't accept credit cards during the day, and I have no use for your services.

Are these merchants seriously that stupid. they dont get that they are saving money. I understand the out dated numbers but come on the proof is in the putting how do you not get cutting out the middle men, there are two less set of hands touching your money. The companies who pass up processing direct are Idiots

There is no such thing as a 'middle guy' in payment processing. You have the merchant account and the gateway and your bank. These guys are your basic ISO (independant sales org.) and want to sell you merchant credit card services just like the rest of them. They are using scare tactics. Don't buy it.

I received a call from them stating that they had to speak to me about my merchant account.  I had no idea what they were talking about.  It does not seem valid to me.  Why say they are calling about a merchant account if I do not have one.  Perhaps they should say they are calling about setting up an account.  When I called back they were very vague and would not give me any information about their company.  I asked where I was calling and they said "a financial institution".  If they were on the up and up why not answer questions.  I think any comments about how wonderful the company is are comments from the company!

These guys appear to resale First Data merchant account services.  They got our phone number because we used to use First Data.  First Data is the most popular (and biggest ripoff) among merchant account services.  I imagine First Data hands out the numbers of old customers to their sales partners as sales leads.  Yet another reason I stopped using First Data.  If you are getting this call and you don't own a business, chances are that someone who had your phone number did own one.

I am not sure you quite understand what you are talking about, First Data is the company that BofA outsources too.  So they are just another third party, and if you were wondering their are two main networks DPP and Vital.  Unless your business has more then 1000 locations nationwide Vital will not mess with you. For everyone else their is DPP, who by the way give Credit Card Processing to banks in the first place (In case you didn't know credit card processing doesn't derive from banks).  DPP actually gives credit card processing to 80% of the banks in the nation and also sells the service to about 300,000 third party resellers.  So in essence they are trying to help small business by processing directly on the main network.  Maybe you guys should talk to them and meet with the before you just assume that they are a scam.  Ohh, and for the people that get the calls that do not even own a business or do not accept credit cards, I understand you being mad for getting calls.  But, I am sure if you answer the phone and actually tell them that you do not have a business or do not accept credit cards that they will stop calling you.
