It is from Nuance, a maker of voice recognition software. It converts voice to text. We bought a package months ago. I suspect they are trying to get us to upgrade.

Has to be a phishing or marketing call. I don't pick up if I don't recognize the number, especially since I am supposed to be on the "Do not call list."

I moved, changed my phone number & only gave it out to one relative who promises not to ever give my phone number to anyone. I have a deathly fear of hearing the phone ring but since I am very old & my one contact calls me every day to check on me & I also need to have a phone line, this is horrible to have this ringing calling all the time. I am on the National & State Do Not Call Lists. I don't understand. After the home invasion there is not much I can do anymore but stay inside & pace. Before this started my phone never rang at all except for my one call a day from a person I wanted to hear from. Now my peace is gone again.

Yes. It's Nuance. I purchased Dragon Naturally Speaking back in August. I receive emails, and phone calls
from them.

I've learned from other people that this call was from the company Nuance, which I've done business with. However, they have nothing listed in the caller ID and never leave a message so it makes one wonder. I rec'd this particular call on 2/18, since I'm now tracking all of these calls. I get dozens and dozens of calls from the same people. I've put my number on the Do Not Call list many times over the years and Nuance and many other telemarketers are NOT charitable organizations so WHY are they still allowed to do this? What use is the DNC list?

Nuance Communications is an American multinational computer software technology corporation, headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts, United States, that provides speech and imaging applications. They make Dragon Naturally Speaking

They call everyday sometime twice a day for the last month. There is no one there. Not sure what they want but it cost me as they are calling my cell phone.
Louie K 2013-03-19 23:08:22 Unknown
Nuance also makes a computer software called "Dragon Naturally Speaking". It is a software where one may dictate and the software types for you. It's got to be telemarketing outbounds. I cannot think of anything else it could be.

Nuance is the company that produces the "Dragon Speak" software. A voice recognition program for computers.

It's nuance, they sell voice recognition software, Dragon Naturally Speaking. For what it's worth to folks out there, this is very good software.

These people suck!!! They have been calling for years and have told many of us they will stop, that they will remove us from their calling list, and like I, we are on the gov do not call list as well, yet the calls keep coming!!! So don't hold your breath, they simple do not care!!! Bad way to do business!!!!!!!!
FYI- if your on the gov do not call list please report all of their calls!!! I do know of other company's that followed this path, it took time, but the gov folks nailed them!!!
Walt 2013-03-01 18:07:45 Unknown
I called the number back, waited s instructed for a live person. A very nice lady answered the call. I explained that I am on the donotcall list and wanted my number removed from the data base. She said she would take care of that for me. We shall see.
They are a pest control company, Ironic that they are the pests!!!

We received a call from this number. I did not answer it and they did not leave a message.

I have complained to the Sr Marketing VP's office (Steve Chambers) at corporate headquarters 781-565-5000 about this and they say they will change things, but starting Jan 1, their calls are coming from 866-771-6288 with caller ID NEW ONCE (cute, huh?).
Note: If everyone complains, maybe they will listen.
I asked them to remove my phone number from their database, but the calls keep coming.
I have asked them to stop calling, but the calls keep coming.
I have reported them to the Fed govvt.
I think they should change their name from NUANCE to NUisaNCE.

Folks that purchase any product need to READ the EULA, on all products. Once you accept, that gives them permission to call, and call, and call,.........
black uncle ned 2013-01-09 20:22:54 Unknown
They called today, the first time I'd seen them on the Caller ID. The ID said New ONCE. A scam I'm sure.

These calls are from Nuance Software. They sell a digital/ scanning product called Paperport. It is a good product that I use all the time. I upgrade every two years or so. I don't really appreciate these unsolicited sales calls.

Start posting openly and frequently on their Facebook page... http://www.facebook.com/dragonnaturallyspeaking They may not like that publicity.

Nuance needs to change their name to Nuisance. I don't want these high pressure calls from their amateur, high-pressure telemarketers.
GuyRGal 2012-03-12 23:41:17 Unknown
Wish I could actually block it...It's on the Block list at my ISP, and still I get calls... from Nuance this time, but pretty, pretty sure I have gotten calls from fundraisers and Alarm companies, etc. etc. in the past. I think it's a 3rd party telemarketing clearing house. I like NUANCE and I am a stock holder and happily use their great software. They always email me abut upgrade offers. Wish they would not allow this tele-spam.
so I no longer answer this number, or I'll use the "do not disturb" feature.

This phone number belongs to Nuance Company that sells Omni Products. I laugh every time I see how my phone shows new once. I did purchase a scanner that doesn't need a computer, and the OmiPage software. So I know why I'm getting the calls. (I'm tired of them calling me before I get out of bed) .OmniPage allows you to scan pages in--like reports that need to be answered in the report. That way you don't have to fill it out with an ink pen. I missed the message by Janice where she tells what company it is.
This is the message I got with this last advertisement.

you would have had to give it them as a contact number or an affiliate that shares information. duh!

Some phones allow you to add numbers to be blocked, try that if you can or report them to your provider!
