Got a call from this number - the guy left a message but spoke quickly about some person who indicated that I was a third party in some law suit.  Sounds like a scam

For almost over a year they pop up and decide to call me. It's always time sensitive and I'm always being sued or going to jail. I contacted a local law firm and they investigated and couldn't find any legitimate information for them. She explained to me the scams going on and how they can hack your credit report and pretend to be collecting for a real past debt. Thats how they try to convince you they are real. One: Its past the statue of limitations. They can sue me. Two: They never send me any thing in writing. You can't send me paper work then you can't speak to me. I dont know if their legitimate or not but if they are their sloppy, and this is definitely harassment.

I had a bogus threatening Call From this number

Called twice today from 866-803-6961 saying they are law firm from ?NY
looking for an individual not at this address or phone # wanting
that person to call them back.
Caller ID identified the calling# as 585-379-1006.
Did not answer and did not call them back.

I get a phone call from this number on my cell phone, which is on the "Do Not Call" list.  I never answer it and they never leave a message.  I had another one today:  August 23, 2013

I received a call from 8668036961 asking me about someone.  The caller wanted to know if I had a telephone or and address on the person.

I am not comfortable giving out people's telephone number and address to someone who has called me on the phone.

Is there anything I can do to stop this type of call?

Every few months this phone number calls me as well as other members of my family looking for my brother. They tell me there is a civil case against him and they are filing a criminal case. This is crazy since last time they called and told me I am going to jail??? I did all the footwork and got my brother in contact with them and all they wanted was money. we didn't pay because they couldn't provide any proof or documentation as to what is owed and for what. I guess now we are back at the game. This morning I called a real lawyer who looked up the number and told me it looks like a scam which fits. It was recommended to us that we block the phone number they call with, file a FTC consumer complaint and to file a complaint with the state attorneys generals office. This company needs to be shut down.
