getting calls from this number, but no messages left. who is calling me?

Same thing as above. I've received 22 calls from this # in the last three days. Should be illegal!

i got a call last night around 8:00pm, said it was capital one wanting to check information. i told them no and hung up. they called back twice last night. starting at 8:15am they started calling every 15 to 30 minutes. 17 times so far. i have sent capital one an email asking them if it is capital one calling but have gotten no responce.

They are calling me too. Some womern is asking for Hope.

Keep getting calls from this number 866-834-2446 as well, I work nights and they'd call like 20 times a day. Finally I go tired of it they'd call my cell phone then call my house phone. I answered and they'd hang up. I called again and I picked up, I told them if you call me one more time I am calling the police for harassment, they then hung up. So far it's been about a month since they've called last.

for the past week 866-834-2446 has called me at least three times a day including sunday. when i say hello there is no response. i would guess that it must be breaking some law, this has now started to become harassment. what can be done to stop this ?

THEY CALLED ME CLAIMING THAT THEY ARE VERIFYING CAPITAL ONE ACCOUNT THEN THEY ASKED FOR THE ACCOUNT NUMBER AND SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. THEY ARE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH CAPITAL ONE IN ANY WAY. THIS IS NOT A CAPITAL ONE PHONE NUMBER. THIS IS A SCAM!!!!! DO NOT PROVIDE PERSONAL INFORMATION TO THEM. CAPITAL ONE DOES NOT CALL REQUESTING ACCOUNT VERIFICATION.

I called this number back a few times after dozens of non-messages from the caller. I always got a "Sarika" with a foreign accent who, each time, immediately thanked me for calling and asked for my Capital One Card Numbers. (I don't own one.) I never respond, and after "Sarika" repeats "hello?" several times, she stops the call.

I called this number back on 6/25/2010 and spoke to an operator who claimed they had no record of it. I spoke to "Marlene", a supervisor who associated my number with someone with a similar name but not known to me. She said the number would be removed within 3 days. I told her I would complain if I got any calls after that. She said the company name was Alliance One, but when the operator first answered she asked for my Capital One card number.

Call on two different lines.  Talked with a foreigner  and asked why she called and hung up.  Gave my phone number and they could not find it.  Curious to know how these  people have the right to call and bother me .... I pay this phone bill and I don't wish to be bothered.

Again another call - no one there.  Tired of having to deal with this.  Any legal recourse?

Said they were from Alliance and couldn’t get her story right. I told her to stop calling my number and that I was going to report them. She slams the phone in my ear and I called her right back and she ask like she was someone else and apologized, but she was very unprofessional. The calls stop coming in from that number.

Same here, no name and no message.  Even getting called on Sundays.  What can be done?
