These are THE most ridiculous people. My mortgage is NEVER late, it's due on the 15th, and ALWAYS paid by the 11th, yet on the 1st of EVERY month, they start calling, and calling, and CALLING!  I counted 12, TWELVE!!! calls in one day. That's abusive!  They should be shot!

Not quite correct. The mortgage is due on the first. They start calling on the second. They claim that tip the 16th is a favor and courteously on their behalf. I pay my bills on time, but I pay on the first like everyone else. I asked her if I was going to get these calls on the second of every month for the next 30 years because I send my payment on the first, she said yes. I could see them calling on the 12 th or 13 th, but the second? How can you call someone a dead beat when the account does not  become late until the 16th? Plus there is no credit damage until after 30 days. They cannot report 18 days late.

Read this and didn't want to answer this call, but my husband did anyway.  They identified themselves as MIC (our mortgage co) and didn't ask for any sensitive information.  We don't know why they called since we are not late on payment, those are set up to be automatic.  We haven't heard from them ever before. No idea why they called today, but they verified our automatic payment dates.  Seems odd. Hope it doesn't happen again! Makes me worry they might be doing something sketchy.

I received several messages from this number asking that I return the call. One day I called the number back and they asked that I entyer my social security number- I hung up. Today they called again and I was told they are callling from Dallas- I asked what is the company you work for- she said MIC. I asked if they are a collection agent. She said she would remove my number from their list. She intially asked for another person then asked me to varify the number she was calling- she called me- doesnt she know the number she is trying to reach?  Sounds sour to me!  The number is 866-899-5308

I received a call from "Unknown" telling me to call this number.  I am not going to return a call to someone that doesn't tell a person why or appears to be from an auto-dialer.

Scammers call from a unlisted number called customer service. I don't have charges and never use checks for my purchases so there is no reason for a "customer service dept" to call me. These are scammers looking to get vital information. These people collect information anyway then can to try and put pieces together to try and ruin your live or at the very least take everything you have by way of stealing money from every legitimate source you have.

The people that make these calls a Nigerian Scammers. There are many who work for telemarketing companies, not everything is automated. They use the name of the company to try and get information from the person, so they can steal their identity.  Be careful, first of all don't answer if you don't recognize the number, don't answer it. If the call is legitimate, the person or company will leave a message and a # to call back. However, if you think that it may be someone trying to steal your identity, go to Spokeo and check the # out. If it's a telemarketer, try to have it blocked or at best change your phone #. These people are crafty and never give up. They have people all over that help them only to receive a % of what they steal, don't be a victim.

I have been calls from these people at least 5 to 8 times a day! After reading this I wonder why. I don't even have a freakin' mortgage, I RENT! If it was a real message from the mortgage company at LEAST they would leave a message. Not calls 8 times and hang up.

Left message to call. They would only identify themselves as "loan servicing". Obviously not true. They also state that they are a collection agency. Something smells here. They would not identify what debt they are trying to collect. Since I am not late on any I gave them nothing and hung up.

These people call and don't leave messages. I have 1 mortgage and am not late.

I continue to receive calls at 8 pm and they do not leave a message from phone number 866-899-5308. When I contacted them they wanted a lot of personal information, of which I did not provide. I am not late on paying anything. Beware!!

I have some light to shed on the subject. My home mortgage is through MIC, Mortgage Investors Corporation. GMAC is apparently one of their affiliates.

Earlier today, I called the 866 899-5308 number back, mostly out if irritation (after reading what others had wrote on this website), and kept pressing zero. After an automated message admitted that this was some sort of debt collection line, I was (without any wait) connected with someone. It was a younger lady who said that they do loan servicing, and then immediately and aggressively started probing me for personally identifiable information WITHOUT PROVIDING ME ANY INFO ON WHO THEY WERE after repeatedly asking sternly. I asked several times for her to identify the name of her company if she would, allbeit after the fact that I had unfortunately stated who my mortgage was through for my home, and all she finally said to me was, "oh, we're MIC.".

Bull.

I have their number, and it ain't yours, lady! So I call MIC customer service to ensure that I didn't have any overdue payments (which I didn't/don't) and also to ask her about the 866 899-5308 number. After a brief (2-3 minute) wait, I was connected with a professional and courteous woman, who, TO MY SUPRISE, not only knew of the phone number, but was able to explain to me that they were legitimately trying to collect a debt if I had any late payments or fees. I Don't. After checking my online account, it refects my last payment made, along with $0.00 under past due fees. She stated that the number was infact affiliated with GMAC Home Loans. I f***kin shuddered a little, expressed my concern for their affiliates' complete lack of professionalism and phone skills, and let her know I would be making a payment today just incase. It was explained to me in some fashion that basically the GMAC affiliate number has to talk to people that way to collect debts.

From what I gathered, apparently MIC has a strong-arming big brother affiliate with a jacked-up debt collection department. On a possitive note, the customer service representative from MIC was attentive, courteous, and helpful; she also stated she would be placing a note on my account for them not to contact me anymore. Just make sure you check your MIC account online so you never have to deal with their demon-faced bastardly affiliate. I also have nothing negative to say about MIC and have no issues with them, except for this. IGONRE the 866 899-5308 number and handle your buisness through your original lender/company/etc. Hope this helps!!

8668995308 keeps calling my home phone. They've called about 10 times this year, and it's getting extremely frustrating! They NEVER answer when I pick up the phone and NEVER leave messages. Plus I still don't have a clue who they are. I suspect it's a prank caller, but I can't figure out why they've called so many times.

I am signed up for email notification, and am NOT late with my payment!
No one leaves a message, and they are not doing me any favors calling and hanging up on my answering machine.

SOMEONE CALLED ME FROM THIS NUMBER ON DECEMBER 3, 2010, AROUND 4:00 P.M.,
ALLEGING THAT I WAS IN DEFAULT ON MY MORTGAGE LOAN.  WHICH NONE OF IT WAS TRUE, BUT HOW COME THEY ARE HARASSING ME?  PLEASE HELP.

I have had 7 calls in the last three days no message no information

It's DiTech's automatic caller from the collections department.  That's why they don't always answer when you pick up.

I just got a call from this number.  No message.  I have two mortgages, neither of which are late; and neither are with Ditech.

I just got a call from this number, they identified themselves as GMAC Mortgage.  She asked me if I was the individual and the lady hungup!!!  That really pi.................ed me off!  Im sick and tired of calls like this, we are on a nocall list in our state!!!

I get calls from these people and then they don't pick up, and I wait forever. I want to know what they want, but apparently, they must be getting paid to call and harrass, not resolve.  It's the typical American drill, do as little to earn money as possible, and it's okay to make a living off of other people's misery. WTF?

GMAC Mortgage default division. If any of you EVER plan to take a mortgage with these pukes...DON'T! They are the most uncooperative and unprofessional people we have ever dealt with.
