Was a legitimate call for me, from Capital one fraud, we went over some suspicious activity, which was actually valid.

I received a call from this number and it actually was Capital One. I actually made a demand and that's the number they called me from, asking for info to confirm demand... So I guess this number is legit. Might be used for sales call from them to get you to demand a card but, this is really Capital One's information verification call center.

Received a call from someone claiming to be from Capital One and that he was calling me regarding my recent application for a Capital One credit card. I have never applied for a Capital One credit card. He wanted to know my date of birth, which I did not give him. I called Capital One Customer Service afterward and they told me no application had been submitted in my name. This is almost certainly a scam to get personal information.

This is a legit Capital One Fraud Dept number. Just called them because they were confirming a balance transfer amount. I put through two amounts in error, so they were confirming which one I wanted. They never asked me for anything other then to verify who I was - DOB, name and Moms Maidin name (that Cap.One has)

It was for my wife Ginette, she was out, so the person gave me a 14 digit ref number and the 8669537904 phone number .... he didn't want to release any other info, except to say this was not a sails call, and they do not return call, Ginette would have to call back givining the ref number provided ......  then I came here saw the last post so we decided not to call back.  the guy sounded very offical , young, with little experiance. A bit nervis

A lady, pretending to be Sandra from Capital one gave me a call on february 3rd, 2012, She wanted me to say whether or not I made 2 transactions with my Capital one credit card on January 30 and on February 3rd, 2012. I said no and added that I have no Capital one credit card anyway. As a result of my answer, she wanted my address and my date of birth to cancel the credit card. I categorically refused to give her this information. She then suggested I call 18663810447 and give them this information so that they can cancel the card. I told her I won't do that. The conversation lasted 30 minutes and she says I will be responsible for paying whatever amount will be spent with that credit card since I didn't give her any information that could help her cancel the credit card. Was she trying to get my personnal information to steal my identity or is someone really using a credit card from Capital one under my name? Don't know yet. But I reported the incident to the police.

Capital One account verification I got a call from them explaining the verification policy to receive a new chip card from them. most likely because I screwed up by checking too many boxes on the form that was sent to me by mail They never asked me for any account info just the authorization code that came with the letter.

Got Sheila on the line saying she was from Capital One. Wouldn't say why she was calling... unless I gave her my card number. I told Sheila to send me a letter, which I never received.

The next day I called the Capital One number (taken on their Website). The agent did not have that number on her list. She told me that if I needed to verify anything... NEVER to give my number and to call the telephone number on their Website, and ask if Capital One needed to contact me for any reason.
