Wow, get it grip. Maybe that was the only job they could find to feed their family or some other situation. Honestly, do you think they like what they do, being yelled at all day, every day by folks like you?

I have received this call on a weekly basis for a year, telling them I am not the person they are looking for, and I have threatened to report them because I have the name of who is calling, and it stopped for awhile, and now it has stated again. I think it is some kind of Financial Services. The person who calls talks so fast I can barely understand, wasn't sure this was the right number, but I can see from these posts, it is.

Received a call on a Sunday morning from this place. Since I didn't recognize the number, I let the machine answer. At first, just music. Then touch tones, then an actual person asked for my girlfriend by name. Yes, she owes on her student loans. However, she's been making payments to the Dept Ed directly and is not behind in these payments. I would imagine this place gets lists of names & numbers in hopes of catching someone who will fall for their spiel.

Just received call from these idiots, says call is being recorded for quality assurance.  It is about a student loan, since my husband and I are Sr Citizen and the only ones that have lived in our home for over 25 years, this is crazy, we have never had any student loans in our whole life.  Just another harrassment of wrong people.

One of the posts above listed ACS (as in ACS Educational Services).  My husband and I have our consolidated federal student loan with ACS Educational Services.

As of July 31, 2011, I, a high school English teacher by profession, became unemployed, and my salary ended.  My husband and I quickly prioritized a budget, and we did everything possible to minimize our biggest debts.

We refinanced our mortgage (and went from Midland Mortgage to Wells Fargo) and transferred a personal debt loan from Bank of America to Wells Fargo (best decision we EVER made ... absolutely LOATHE BoA).  The next largest bill to deal with was our consolidated student loan.

I contacted ACS and explained our situation, and a "customer care" representative informed me that we should be eligible for an Income Sensitive Repayment Plan.  I sent all of the required documentation (application/worksheet, proof of my husband's gross monthly income, and a written statement that my total gross monthly income was $0).

There was absolutely NO reason we would be denied.  Our monthly payment SHOULD have gone from $212.62 to $176.26, so this new amount is the amount I started to send in.

However, whoever was working their incoming email ticket box appeared to be one idiot after another.  For FOUR months, I kept getting automated "secured" email messages that the application was denied because they allegedly were missing one document or another, and for four months, I complied and kept re-sending the alleged missing documents.

By February, I was FINALLY able to speak with what I thought was a reasonable, intelligent human being.  She gave me her personal email address at the company.  I re-sent her all of the required documents (including updated monthly pay statements for my husband) with the date changed per her request, and I continued to send in the new reduced monthly payment amount.  I did not find out until April that this person had not processed the application.  I contacted her by email and attached the first email to her, asking why the application hadn't been processed.

On 4-22-2012, we received notification that the company needed current proof of our income.  I faxed the company updated monthly pay statements for my husband and a statement that my total gross monthly income was $0.

Just yesterday, my husband found out that we were again (surprise, surprise) denied.  The company emailed us an Economic Hardship Forbearance application.  This time I have to send in proof that we've been paying (an online bank statement should suffice), proof of my husband's gross monthly income, and yet another statement that my gross monthly income is $0.

Today (wait for it ...), we received an Unemployment Deferment Request with MY HUSBAND's name on it.  (Face-palm)  HE IS NOT THE ONE UNEMPLOYED!

These people are too stupid to live.  We've had it with these idiots.  If you EVER have to do business with ACS Educational Services, do whatever you can to get as far away from them as fast as you can!  We're not refusing to pay.  We don't want to default on the loan.  We just need our monthly payment reduced to an amount more affordable for us.  We do not feel a reduction of $36.36 is too much to ask.  We're hoping transferring the loan to a Direct Loan will help.

LOL, Maybe if we all paid a little they could afford more empoyees to talk to people instead of putting us on hold.  Oh wait it is Saturday morning and you can not hardly pay someone enough on a week day to man the boiler room phones.  How are they going to get the people to work the week end?  I guess it is just more intimidating and easier to leave auto dial on when the lights are off.

Same here.  I know I owe money on my student loan and am paying a weekly amount in order to try and catch up, if that will ever happen in my lifetime.  At the rate I'm going on paying back, my kids will be paying when I die.  Unfortunately, I have the same problem with this number.  Someone calls me, there's a recording and some music.  I only listen for about a minute as this wastes my phone's minutes.  I have yet to speak to a live person.  When I attempt to call the number back all I get is some music and am on hold, no one answers.  I believe that this is even the number that a couple of times I receive a recording to call them back.  OK!!!???!!!

I got a call from this number, they gave me a notice that the call would be recorded (probably so they could use my own profanity against me later in a court of law as evidence I was being belligerent, and honestly, I am belligerent with idiots who make a job of telemarketing, or making collection calls).  I waited listening to some terrible music for several minutes, and then I hung up.  I didn't have the patience to be belligerent with anyone.

Keep getting calls from this toll free number. I told they are looking for a person with my name who is delinquent on student loans. I have told them multiple time they have the wrong person with the same name. I have even provided my birth date to confirm I am not the person of interest. At that point I have asked that they take me off their calling list. Has not worked yet.....

CORRECTION:
actually, this is Student Loan Counseling Service, they are calling because of a school loan, it's 32 days behind, totally my fault (forgot again). But, they should have their IT dept work on the IVR to ensure an available agent, maybe during the end call procedures where they mark the call reason and account, before dialing a person. This way they won't call someone and then put them on hold.

Here is a list of their customers for whom they make these calls.

Just received a call. I may have forget my bill, which I'm ok with them calling me for it. The problem is it keeps calling me, gives a recording "this call may be monitored", then plays on-hold music. I'll check on the web when I get home, I am quite forgetful about getting things payed on time, but don't call me an put me on hold.
