I received this exact call today on my cell phone.  Caller ID: Unknown - it was "Paul" telling me a sad story of hard times and how the internet is the best way to go.  I'll admit to actually thinking it was a live call and not a recording - which I realized when he didn't answer my questions.  I listened to the message in its entirety for kicks.. certainly weird - wish I could laugh in "Paul's" face.

man said his name is "Paul". He has my info from the internet. etc....identical to the script on the internet that states this is illegal.

SCAM

I received a call to my cell from Paul as well (which is peculiar since I'm on the "No Telemarketers" list). No number was shown, it simply said "Unknown". The message was the same and more as mentioned above. It sounded very personal and relatable, he had found my website, was wanting to pass along a good thing, I'll thank him later, etc. Thanks for the warning!

I received the "Paul"  message today on my mobile phone, same as above, directing me to go to the blackbox website...I am so paranoid about going to any site that I'm not sure of, so just went to "ask.com" and this page came up...so glad I did...not that I would have trusted any part of the message anyway..but wanted to share my call info with the others....

Just got a personal call from "Paul" (11/08/2012) just as you described.  I live in southern Colorado.  I checked my caller ID. The "message" came from (303) 968 3280, a Denver, CO #. I immediately re-dialed the # only to receive an automated message, "The # that you dialed is not in service at this time."

Ya I live in south western Ontario canada and got a call from Paul too
area code 760-705-88?? sounds like robo calls coming in from different numbers.
I'm glad the people here did not go to the website which could be a linked to tracking cookies or switch you to another site. Stay away!!!

WARNING stay away from BIDIFY penny auction off shore company you can not get your money back from.

If you get taken your AG in the states can not help you as there is no office in the uSA .... an example a person I know in Florida thought they would make a ton of money they put in 31,000 Euro aprox $35 to 37,000 usd .... they changed the compensation plan and lots of people were not happy .... he can not get his money back nor can he in good conscience get any new people into the program ......RUN FROM BIDIFY

Always look to see if a company has a head office location in the uSA and Canada if they don't and say s*** like we are off shore for tax purposes or any other reason ...... if they have OFF SHORE LOCATION TURN AND FRICKIN RUN!!!!!! you have no resources to get your money back .... even if the company your looking to join has their banking off shore .... run .... they are protecting themselves against law suits, and having to give your money back.

I think they call this company black box for a reason .... you put money in and it disappears in the black box ...... be warned and share this info ....

I got the same kind of phone call from Paul only the phone number he called from was 661-748-0240. Glad I looked it up first. Too many scams, is anybody honest anymore?

I received a call today wanting me to go to freeblackbox.com stating I will be glad I did and will thank the person I called later.

The company Free Black Box  www.freeblackbox.com ILLLEGALLY telemarkets on home and mobile phones, leaving a personal message from "Paul" who claims he got your information off the Internet. The call it set up to sound like a legitimate message from Paul who speaks to you like a friend when it is nothing more than a sneayk, dishonest ploy to get you to sign onto their website - which, according to Wikipedia, "FreeBlackbox.com redirects to a page on rocketpowerline.com, which asks users to join the "fastest growing group in the fastest growing home based business in North America". It asks users to enter their names and email addresses, and phone numbers in order to find out more about the "Top Home Business Team". The website was created by Gil Ortega, an Internet marketing expert who claims to have developed a way to help people make tons of money."  Aka SCAM.

...I called Steve, and according to him, he uses a "scraping tool" to extract numbers that appear online.  I called him an asked to be removed.  Although I'm on a DO NOT CALL list, apparently he has no ethical issues with his marketing tactics (automated calls/hidden domain registration/no easy way to remove your name from his call lists/etc).

Then why is that number listed as the contact number for:

Andreas  Gauger is the main person of of 1and1.com and his number is +1.8774612631. This number is used for someone else.
