Received My 2 round trip US Airline Voucher a few days ago, (Flight Coupon Boarding Pass inside) (From 645--HH? I was going to throw it away, but I wanted to do some research on it first.
Claim No. Nb - 34299 No:0412---ISSUED---   RECORED(bad handwriting) 9/27/12. Phone Number 1-866-754-2419

Really, my first those it was some Government Incosed letter. But then I saw, This is not a Government Document printed on it.  Then I opened it and could not find a company name, but at least it had Sincerely, Awards Department. WHAT!!!  How stupid, Scam

After reading everyone else's findings I knew what I had, so thank you everyone who takes the time to post this stuff,

This scam seems to being morphing.  "Enclosed is your airline ticket voucher.  The voucher is good for a certificate for 2 round trip airline tickets to anywhere in the continental US from any major international US airport."  (Why an international airport to fly somewhere in the US?)
The letter continues, "We have attempted contacting you several times.  Note that this award must be claimed by no later than 7 days after postmark.  [There is no postmark, only a presorted bulk rate stamp.]. If you do not claim your award, it will be transferred to the alternate."
As with others, the voucher is on "Form 645--HH", cites "Claim Number 7218" and "No: 0412 ---ISSUED---" (whatever that means) and asks me to call 1-877-424-3191.
By the way, I live in Nebraska.

I received the same mess but from US Airlines instead of Delta. It went into the shredder.  Another forest killed by human parasites.

Whoever they are, it looks as if they're expanding their range. I note that most of the posts above come from the west coast, mostly southern CA. I'm in central PA and the letter came to me offering tickets on AirTran. It looked suspicious to me right off. AirTran is a good airline that I've enjoyed using in the past and this just didn't seem to be their style.

One thing that should be noted is that AirTran was recently acquired by Southwest Airlines & Southwest has started phasing out AirTran's operations. Eventually there will be no more "AirTran". Be very cautious of anything offering free gifts, prizes, awards, etc from AirTran. When dealing with any airline its usually safest to contact the airline directly.

Just a quick note: I don't know about yours but in my case the mailing is not hand addressed! its been "auto-pen" printed using a type font specifically designed to look like handwriting.

I live in San Diego and received the Air Tran-Scam today....the same letter as everyone else ( & no postmark, presorted bulkmail).
If they mail this to 1000 people, they probably get enough dumb people to come to their "sales office"
to certify the phony "document", to make a nice living.
Once there, they check your credit card & take the information.  They find out your family income,
where you like to travel, favorite hotels etc.  It usually is a timeshare offer.  Your info is then sold to other scammers & you start receiving all kinds of wonderful offers in the mail or by telephone solicitation.  There is a sucker born every minute and this is what they count on.  I will be sending my letter on to AirTran & they can handle it themselves.  I have a life to live!~

Got the letter today. Mine is from airTran. Everything about it is fake if one takes a good at it. My letter came with perforated edge but not sealed. Also, they put my last name wrong. ha ha.  Seems like they are trying to make it official but did a poor job of doing it. We got a good laugh though.

Same as above. Senior in San Diego.
One clue is that the letterhead says "AirTran" but on the back of the award notification there is a  sentence that says... "This promotion is not sponsored by or affiliated with AirTran, ..."
It appears that even the scammers have to be careful not to get caught in an illegal ad.
