Debt Collector
Im in the same boat as many of the people one here. Ive made my payment on the 16th of the month EVERY MONTH FOR 5 YEARS. All of the sudden they started calling me around the 10th asking why my payment hadnt been submitted. I only answered a couple of times because they call a million times per day. I had one j***off make me feel like dirt. The next time I got a call from a very nice man who was obviously from the call center in India. I explained to him that the calls were very upsetting and I had been making my payments very consistantly. He looked at my account and agreed that there was no reason for the calls and he would make sure they stopped. The next month, more calls.

Now I actually cannot afford my mortgage and this is the first month I have not made my payment - so I get called about 10 times per day.  A few times I've answered but it either hangs up on me or no one is there so I disconnect.

The really frustrating part is that I tried 3 separate times this year to do a loan modification through them and could not get a response. The online application says to submit everything and then wait 30 days before contacting them. I waited 30 days, contacted them and was told that they had nothing in the system about my application and to try again. I didnt want to walk away from my first house or default on my loan but i feel i have no choice.

Don't they have to cooperate with Obama's making home affordable program? I know my loan qualifies ( www.makinghomeaffordable.gov ) but I cannot get any response from them and that doesnt seem right!!

Citi Mortgage trying to trick you into answering the phone. If only they would break up this huge money center bank. 4 banks (Citi, BofA, WF and Chase) run the whole US financial system now. It's a shame what has happened to our country. They are all insolvent but the good ole tax payer is keeping them afloat. Bankers,Lawyers and Bill Collectors, now there is a fine group of human beings!

I have been getting calls from this number too. I have not answered them, because I did not recognize it. Glad to know who it is from. I tried to pay my bill online and could not. I will call the number on my bill, not on my cell.

Citimortgage employees are very rude when you speak with them.  I agree with Kris. If Obama gave them a multi-billion dollar bailout and everyone will have to pay for that through taxes, AND the mortgage company is harassing those laid off or having financial problems for the mortgage loan amount, aren't they getting paid TWICE for the same loan?  Not including the fact that you're already paying 3 times the amount you borrowed even with a low fixed interest rate to begin with!

I love if you call them back, the recording says press the extension you're looking for, or * to gain access using your social security number, or account number - why in the world would I give an UNIDENTIFIED number MY social security number OR MY account number.  Anyone can make a recording saying THANK YOU FOR CALLING CITIMORTGAGE.  Call the number on the back of your billing statement, instead.

I get calls from this number AFTER the CITIMORTGAGE has tried calling me all month.  I don't answer unidentified calls.  I don't answer CITIMORTGAGE calls.  I don't answer toll free calls.  And if my daughter accidentally answers - you can tell it's an auto-dialer - and it just hangs up.  They're hoping that YOU call back.  Sorry, toll-free means nothing to my cellular company, I still get charged per minute.

I'm going to my account and changing my "contact" number to my former employer... the one that laid me off.  That way THEY can take the calls.

And I hate when they call me during Oprah!

Hey - I'm busy, and I'll make the freeking payment by the last day of them month!

This company has harassed me ever since they took my loan away from who I originally financed with.  Their latest trick has been to enter my payments into the computer system incorrectly as a payment directly to the mortgage balance &/or unapplied funds instead of crediting my mortgage payment & then sending me threater letter telling me to make my payment & how much fees & penalties I owe for not having made my payment.  I was fortunate enough to have been making payments thru a 3rd party for this reason.  I kept calling them & telling them to apply my payments correctly, remove any penalties & send documentation showing that my account had been corrected.  Say OK ... NOT!  Finally, I happened upon a young inexperienced girl in India who didn't know any better who credited my account with my payments & told me what the company had been doing.  My health had been affected from the stress of constantly fighting with those folks all year long until that innocent new employee in India fixed my account for me.  The very next month, it started all over again.  In the mean time, I get several phone calls from their computer every single day.  They do whatever they can to us for more chi-ching even after they get MILLION$ from my tax revenue.  I would given anything to find an honest local lender & refi.

I was just reading your message that you left on here in Nov and I agree
100 % !!! We have dealt with them for 18 yrs and it has been nothing but grief the whole time. We are now in the process of moving from our home and just defaulting on everything. They screwed our acct up so bad with the escrow (they paid it and are trying to collect but we paid it also)
You would think somewhere a long the lines that they could figure it out !!

Thanks for letting me vent - I am so glad there are other people that sympathize with us re: that company.
And didn't they just get a multi-billion $$ bailout from Obama ???

Forgot the person is usually a guy... this time Jim White and he said if I (meaning Ron Williams) would like to take care of this matter to call him.

Did check Google and it is really Citi Financial.  Found this, so I'm not calling and getting off their list, they'll find another name to try for.

Citi Financial Mortgage ripoff They harass daily rude never know what you've previously been told. Coppell Texas

These people started off being a good company until we started having problems with our finances. Then they began to harass daily. I stopped answering the phone or returning calls because they were rude and I had to talk to a different person every time and was never told the same thing twice. One day some arrangement would be ok and then the next day the different person would tell me it wasn't acceptable.

We talked to Alonzo and he made satisfactory arrangements with us and then a few days later(3/8) 'Don' calls...not leaving his last name but his extension was 17437, at the above phone number. He was rude to my husband and made him angry and my husband never gets angry. He said we would not be able to make any more payments because the company would most likely return them to us. Even tho they took the one we sent in February. They would not take the one I was going to send at the end of this month. He told my husband 'the papers would be in our hands in two days' and slammed the phone down.

I am at the point now where I don't care if they take the house. We have fought 29 years to keep it but it just isn't worth going through this mess with these people every day of the month.

I got a call on my new cell from someone at Citi Financial Mortgage... asking for someone I don't know. I'm assuming its for the fellow that had the cell number before me because it's one of 5 or 6 I've recieved.

Actually I've received 3 calls for Ron Williams and one for Ronald Ragan (yep, I'll contact an angel and get him for you).
