got the same text...must be bogus...don't reply!

Got a txt message from this number saying that my VISA had a restriction on it.

Perhaps they don't like lawyers?

I have a Sprint Phone and received the text - must be the link.

This number showed up on my cell phone, saying my visa was in a restiction, and need to contact them asap. so when you caal the fisrt thing asked is your CC# >:( wtf I mean come on!!

same-restriction on acct.  My text read 18772280596@sms.com. I got on sms.com via my browser and it is a wireless provider. Perhaps sms.com could find this culprit and id him.

I got the message this afternoon. Sprint phone, Raleigh-Cary, NC area

Got a message saying United Bank & Trust.  Call us at 1-877-228-0596 to find out why your debit/ATM card was blocked.  It's obviously a completely bogus call.  If you've searched for the number and found this site, do NOT call this number.

My husband and I got the same text about an hour apart from each other, we also have
Alltel and live near Raleigh, North Carolina. Number has been disconnected but the text messages are still flowing, so warn everyone you can.

I just got the same message as everyone else and the number has now been disconnected.  I live near the Raleigh area in North Carolina and I have Alltel but I don't think my service provider had any bearing on the situation.

Received txt message saying call this number to find out why visa atm was blocked. I also have sprint and this number is a week old. Has to be a scam no one has my number yet.

I am an Alltel subscriber and just received the same message.

My wife got this same text this morning on her phone. I called it and gave a ficticous visa number starting with 4305, this is what all visa's start with I believe. I then gave a fictious expiration date and fictious pin, it then gave me a recording that the restriction was lifted. When I called it, my cell said it was in Texas. I called the Texas Attorney's office and reported it. I just called the number and it was out of service. Looks like someone took some action. I hope whoever it was gets to meet Bubba in prison.

Received this at 6:59 a.m. I also have a Sprint phone and am a North Carolina resident. I didn't call the number as I figured it was probably a scam.

I actually do have a VISA, so I checked my accounts online and there are no restrictions. It's an obvious scam.

"VISA.  Please call us immediately at 1-877-228-0596 regarding recent restriction placed on your account.  Thank you."  This text was at 7:18 AM ET on Friday March 20, 2009.

I also got this text message this morning.  It's definitely a scam!!!!

I also got a text msg. Tried to call and number said out of service. I then called the 1-800 # on the back of my visa and they said they had no such restrictions.

Just got a text saying the following "VISA.  Please call us immediately at 1-877-228-0596 regarding recent restriction placed on your account.  Thank you."  This text was at 6:49 AM ET on Friday March 20, 2009.  Glad I googled this phone number since it is different than the number on the back of the card.  Probably some scam artist trying to get our VISA account number.

I to got the text this morning... I have Alltel for phone service, but I do live near Goldsboro North Carolina!!

My wife and I got the same message this morning. I wonder how they got my number?? Does anyone have Sprint nextel cell phones??? Maybe Just trying to find a common link.

I also received this text at 7:00 am. It seems like a scam!

At 6:57 this morning I received a text message saying to call this number.  I did, and like everyone, the recording told me to enter my card number.  Since I do not have a VISA, I know it's a scam.  Mine came in on my work cell number, which is not even in my name.

I received a message this morning, allleged to be from VISA, and saying that restrictions were being placed on my card...googled the number, and found out here how many others have been contacted as well....which is probably a drop in the bucket, compared to the amount sent out. I'm not looking forward to getting text messages like this, ongoing... it's a load of bull.

Same thing happened this morning. No explaination as to which visa card. And what really was weird was the fact that my cell phone was called.

Text message to all my family plan cell phones, all saying there's a restriction on a Visa card.  Obvious scam, do not call back and give any personal info
