I received 20 calls since this morning and they're not stopping it.....I might file a case against them regarding mental harrasment whatever or whoever thay are....those clowns should stop it seriously or there's gonna be a problem....

Oh Bob the only people that HATE are the people that are so insecure with themselves that they let a phone call bother them.  Many people have died of cancer today and you are worried about a phone call you got.  I love you Bob but you should really learn to let your anger go and love all human beings as well

SAVED THE NUMBER IN MY PHONE AS "DONT ANSWER" AND SET THEIR SPECIAL RING TO "NO RING" ...PROBLEM SOLVED.

I have been getting these calls also for about a week now. 4-10 times a day. I had to setup a silent ringtone and assign it to this incoming number..

My daughter who is a minor started getting these calls today. She got 3 while at school. One time when she answered, the person said hello to her in a hispanic accent. They then hung up. Her phone is for emergencies and I have major health problems, so every time it rings at school she is afraid something has happened to me. I called the number back and got the same message others have recieved, but then someone answered. I told them they were harrassing my underage child and asked how to be removed from their call list. No response, so I said you can either answer me or I will call the authorities and you can answer to them. They hung up on me. Since then, I have repeatedly called the number to show them how it feels to be harrassed via telephone. As long as they keep bothering my child, I will continue to return the favor.

Yea I am having the same problems!!! I get 6 calls from 12:30pm-2:00pm AND it's Saturday!!! What the heck!! Oh and if you just answer and hang up right away they will call you back in exactely 4 minutes. I think it is an automated system to and it is really starting to annoy me. I dont have time to stop and look at my phone all the time when I am a single mother of 3 trying to take care of my kids!! It is really starting to get rediculous if you ask me!!! I wonder if there is anyway to report them to someone? I tried calling the number back and it rang until an answering machine picked up and said "You have reached customer service. You will be contacted!" No beep to leave a message so I have no idea who it is!!

The more i think about it, the pattern is like a telemarketer.

There is silence when you answer because call centers have like a production line type system.  To make their operators more efficient, they have computers call a set of numbers for them and Find and get the line open so the operator can then pick up the open line.  

The drawback of their system is: once the computer finds a phone line that answered, there is a lapse of time between the line being answered by the computer and the operator noticing it and pushing the button to pick up that line.   I bet if next time if you answer the call just keep on the line like 15-30 seconds , even a minute or two, longer and finally the operator will pick up and talk to you.

Today Sept 16th 2010:  I got calls from 877-242-5946 at 9:33a, 10:15a, 11:10, 3:33p, 4:08p, 4:41p, 5:14p, 6:00p, 6:28p, 7:01p, 7:34p, 7:42p, 7:58p.  13 calls today!
              At first i felt annoyed.  then I felt like wow, there must be some emergency for someone to be calling like this.  I tried calling back many times and only get a busy signal.  I think - they must be calling others; someone must have had an accident or died and they are trying to get through to me.  
             So i thought better check what location the area code belongs to on internet because I have family/relatives/friends all over the USA.  Came up with this website.  
             Surprise!  it isn't a relation after all. Read the entries and it describes what i am going through.  so then i check "missed calls" on phone for earlier days and found out they have been calling every day this week like this!

             Same pattern: Multiple calls.  Don't leave message.  When i call back, busy signal.

I agree with Sgt. James Monko and with Jill.  It is a telemarketer calling from a call center.  It could even be an AUTOMATED computer telemarketer not a live person.  I have had those call before.

It is very annoying, irritating and drives you crazy.  There will be relief when the center closes for the nite and on the weekends.  

What a relief to find out what is going on.  I am very grateful for this website and for everyone to take the time to post.

I get calls from this number several days a week and I got 4 today. I don't answer calls I don't know.  I went in my cell phone and  fixed it where my phone will not ring if I get a call from someone not on my list. They can leave a message but you know they wont.

Someone from this number has been calling several times a day for the past week or so. I answered a few times before, but there's never been anyone on the line. I answered again today and a lady spoke with me. Apparently she was calling to give information about online colleges.

Same thing. This number calls at least 8 times a day, taking a break at lunch hours, and at the weekend. How do they get our numbers? My mobile service said that it does not give out or sell its subscribers' numbers, but...
It is possible to block the number via one's mobile provider.
At the beginning, I answered the phone, but there was never anyone/thing there.

I have received at least 5 calls from this number in the last 3 hours. I haven't answered any of them but this is getting annoying that they would call that many times today; especially within 3 hours time frame. I have looked this number up and found this page. I don't want to receive any more calls from them but by the looks of it, everyone whom has commented on here seems to me like they haven't gotten this problem solved. This is ridiculous... Looks like I am just gonna have to ingnore their calls for now. If anyone finds a solution to ending these calls from reaching their phones, please let me know!

10 calla from this number since yesterday afternoon. I do not answer calls from numbers I do not recocgnize and they leave no message. I am rally starting to get angry, especially since, like other pople, when I try to call back to find out who it is, I get a busy signal or nothing at all.

obnoxious.!  I am gettting multiple calls,  I don't answer cause I don't recognize it.  They don't leave messages and I tried calling back once with a busy signal.  I texted once with no reply.  Then I searched the number here and had alot explained.

I am having the same problem and it started today...I have received 8 calls alone in the last 8 hours and they hang up when I answer and I get a busy signal when I try them back...

daughter is receiving calls from this number, she answers no calls if she doesn't recognize number.  I did search on internet for owner of number and drew a blank except Mr. Numer has someone else make a comment today about that number also.  I tried calling the number and kept getting a busy signal.  The notation on the other web site said "we got 5 calls ...when u answer they just hang up and if u try and call em back it just beeps"
