No, you cannot be arrested because you owe on a payday loan.  Don't worry - this is a tactic they use continually to scare people.... don't give them any information, don't send them money.  if you want to repay the debt, contact the original creditor.

Also, when these people call asking for you to verify information don't give them anything at all. They found your number, they can find your address and mail you what ever it is that they need to mail to you. If you get nothng in the mail from them, then they are not legit, legal, or they are scum bags. be as rude to them on the phone as you can. talk down to them all the time and do not let them inimidate you at all. they are LOSERS and will rot in hell.

this place is a joke. preying on people and threatening them with serving papers andshowing up at their place of employment and home to arrest them. Some balls you jerks have. If you see a number you don't recognize dont answer it and surely don't give anyone any credit card information or banking account information over the phone unless it you paying for 1 of your utilities. people who call you requesting credit cardcinformation should always be verified. I recieved a call this morning from Jacobsen and associates saying i either had to settle the debt or they would have a summons sent to me to appear in court .Then they took my debit card information and set up 6 payments after reading this i have contacted cashnet usa and informed them what was going on... waiting to hear at the moment... they gave me a court release number and a phone number of 855-571-1745 ..I tried to call them back and got a voice mail.... to leave my number HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP what do i do now....

thinks its funny that you people refuse to pay bills for years and years while you reopen new credit cards and ARE WORKING and CAN PAY these debts that you ARE AWARE OF since they're on youre CREDIT REPORT and YOU OPENED THEM AND CHARGED MONEY! people who STEAL money from companys (yes, borrowing money from a company and not paying it back is stealing) are the real pieces of s***, not the people trying to get it back. Back in March of 2010, I made two installment payments, totaling $524 to Marvel and Assoc., in settlement of an account they claim I had with Check N Go. More than a year and a half later (two weeks ago) I begin receiving calls from some Bureau stating that I have an unpaid balance of $154.00, with the same account.  They have a totally different number 855-666-1467.  Once again they are asking that I fax them documentation, but refuse to send me anything stating I owe the money.  The weird thing about this call is that they somehow have record of the two payments already made, and are now saying that Marvel & Assoc must have sold them my unsettled account.  Now they are asking me to fax documentation that shows I settled.  I told him to call Marvel & Assoc, he said he couldn't.  So I told him I would tell them to call him and I hung up.

You can report these calls to your states Attorney General's office. If that doesn't work try The Federal Trade Commission.

they keep calling me looking for someone else and i tell them they don't live here but i know them they call when i am not at home and leave messages on my phone i call back and tell them that person doesn't live here and that i am not a message service i asked for them not to call me anymore they said that they can't take my name off this list because i am supposedly a reference on the account but i know that they just looked in the phone book and we are the only one in the book

A message was left on my mom's answering machine saying that a complaint was being filed against me if I didn't contact them immediately. I have no idea who these people are or why they would be filing a complaint against me. But what made me mad was the fact that they left the message on my mom's phone and in the message they gave the last 4 digits of my social security #. Is that legal? I thought they couldn't give out any information and especially to leave it on the answering machine of a relative? It seems very unethical.

HEY! i just got a call  from these people  they are full of s***! call your local attorney general and do not give them any more money. they are just trying to scare u ! ask  them to give it in writing and turn it in to your attorney general. they can not get a warrent for u with out serving u papers.  i hope these helps.

How do you report these people?  I was getting calls like this a while back and called the police - they said there was NOTHING they could do about it.  It stopped for quite sometime.  Now, this new number is calling.  What I hate is that, they know where I live, they know my full name, date of birth, work phone and home phone...  Previously the callers also had the last 4 of my SSN (at least).

They say that there has been a complaint filed against me in my county... Called me at work and when I asked how do I know who the heck you are, I was transferred to someone else, the man then said something about a payday loan taken out and deposited to my account at some unknown bank in January.  I said I don't bank there and then he said, well this was in January.  I said I have NEVER banked there and he promptly hung up!!!

I'll say this much.  I did utilize a payday loan a couple of times from the same location and once I paid them off and refused to continue business with them, that's when the calls started.  I think that either they sold my information - cause my bank account was tampered with - or they do nothing to protect their client's information!  We all need code names or something to hide from these idiots!

There needs to be a set law as to what kind of information needs to be verified in REAL debt collection or payday loan lawsuits...  I don't know who to report this to...  It scares me that someone like that knows exactly where I live!

rec. a call at my ex-wifes other ex-husband looking for me.he was asked if he knew me well yes he does very well. but he told them if he did or didnt know me that they could locate me on mthere own. then got a call form my dad saying they called him. and was talking about an old a** debt and when i go to court id better have a lawyer cause this was trouble. i asked the lady if this was a debt collection agency she said its a firm.but would not discuss any more info on them. she had queations for me to answer. i replied well i called you this time so let me ask you some questions nope wouldnt have it. so i told her if she wanted the debt paid for her to pay it. i also told her i know how the whole skip tracing thing works being that. thats what i do for a living. and politely i told her for her and the rest of her firm to..............firmly pound sand up their a***s........paid in full.and if they call again maybe i will get the lawyer they told my dad i was gonna need...........

Oh my god, thank you so much for posting this. I just got a call from these people and they left a message on my answering machine stating something similar to the effect of what they told you. It really scared me. I'm glad I read your post and won't get scammed by these people. Thank you so so much. I was really freaking out about this.

They called me today and I never had a payday loan. They are wanting to settle for $500.  Please report this scam to the attorney general. Maybe they will get caught soon. Then another group of losers with try the same thing. Get out and find a job losers!

I have been receiving calls from Rosenthal Levine & Associates 877-252-0491, from a Mrs Franklin. She is a very nice woman, but said that Nov 2010, I took out a payday loan & had not paid it. When I asked her who the original debt was through she said all she had was loan.com b/c they fund over 50 online payday companies. I asked her for documentation on this debt, she said they had mailed me a letter 3 times, BUT I have NOT received anything! So I asked her to resend it, she said she would email it within 30 mintues & I have yet to receive it. She also told me that they had been getting complaints about calls from bogus companies calling trying to collect on pday loans & they are scams. BUt she said her company is a real collection company. lol... she said if I settle this out of court it will be like 600 something, if they take me to court it would be over 1000.

She also had my social, bank name, address, place of employment...etc...She said if she didn't hear back from me by 4 today they would be forwarding on to the attorneys to send to Lee County MS to file a case against me?

Is this a licensed/valid company? Can they serve me w/ a judgement?

This "company", and I'm using that term loosely, has been calling about my adult brother, giving out all sorts of information to not only me but my mother-in-law, who isn't related to my brother at all. We can't figure out how that got our numbers. This is definitely a scam. My brother is in the military and at the time he supposedly took out a payday for $1500 he was preparing to leave the country to go to Germany. There is no way he would have been able to get a payday loan at that time. Also, my brother has never needed a payday loan and has never applied for a payday loan. Our family is quite comfortable and we are fortunate enough that we haven't fell on hard times that were bad enough to need a payday loan. Anyway, these people are breaking the law by speaking to me about my brother's personal business.

I received a call fro this company Rosenthal Levine & Associates, caller David Martin.  they called from 8772520491.  For a payday loan non payment.  They wanted me to make payment arrangements for $500 that had to be paid in 2 weeks or the information would be sent to the county for further processing.  I would have to pay more fees etc etc...same as everyone else is saying here.  I have filed a complaint with the FTC for violation of the FDCPA and encourage everyone else to do the same.  It really appears to be a scam!  I do have a payday loan out that I have been paying on ewvery 2 weeks on payday they automatically take it out of my account.  I asked the payday loan compnay I am with about this and they said it was not them I am current with my loan.  These people are trying to get money from us.  When I asked them the name of the company they were trying to collect for they could not tell me.  When I called again to ask them who they were collecting for they again told me they had sent the request off and would get back to me.  The amount they are requesting from me is $500 much smaller than other people on here, but it is also smaller than my current loan is.  It sounded a bit fishy to me so I reported them.

My Daughter received a call from this number today from a guy named Hans.  He told her that i needed to call him ASAP for I was going to be arrested for not paying back a payday loan.  I called him up and requested information on the issue.  He told me this was from October 2010 and I needed to pay him 484.00 today.  He said the company name was Cash500.  I have never had a loan from this company and I informed him of that .  He replied they made a deposit into my account and then tried to draft their money back and my account was closed.  I told him I would return his call after I looked into this .  I called him back and told him that they had not made a deposit into my account because I checked with my bank.  I said what do I need to do to prove this to you?  He replied don't worry about it I will take care of this for you.  Don't know what he meant and don't really care because you got to have proof that someone owes you money before you can file a suit against them .  Also you cannot be arrested for a consumer loan.

Interesting - they just called again and  left a voice mail that said that since my payment didn't go through that I could call and they would work out a better payment plan with me.  If I didn't call by tomorrow though they would be forced to release the hold on my account and have me served.  It was a woman this time and she was so very nice.  Seriously they have this down.

Do not give these people anything!  It is a flat out scam.  They called my mother and I happened to be there.  They left this horrible message so I called them back.  By the time they were done with me I had given them my debit card number.  After I hung up my mom said call and cancel that card.  I did.  They attempted to take money from me and when they couldn't, they called my mom back and started to leave a message again.  She answered and said we have reported this to the police as a scam and they hung up fast!  She called her phone company and the guy she talked to said he'd had 10 calls about these people in 3 days.  Imagine how many people hadn't reported it.  If they call you repeatedly just tell them you've reported them to the police.  They won't call back.  I suspect they will see these posts at some point and will change their names and try again.  Don't believe them for a minute.  I am reporting them to the FTC and any other place that I can find to report them.  We need to get the word out somehow - I wish someone would stop them already.

They first got in touch with my mother back in june 2011, I have had several different people call me David Martin, Richard Smith, Tony Marquette and a Lady that i cannot understand her name.... They have all info and i have filed a police report... What bothers me is the keep harrasing me ..... the number is 18772520491 show on call id as Richard Smith,or 800 service
