mercantile adjustment bureau they called me and ended the call when I answered. I called back and an operator (robot) transferred me to where "there is no one available to answer your call please leave a message..." bla bla bla, im not interested... thank you bye

They call and call...I no can take.  I goin crazy...who da be callin at all hours...what do they want from me...i take it no more...

I received a call from this number and it is a recorded message of a mans voice.  He says to call back.  That he is trying to collect a debt.  Very important business matter.  If it was so important, why doesn't a real person leave the message?  Funny thing is...i have no debt.

This number always leaves a message about how someone has filed a restraining order on you (they always mention someone with the same last name as me but I have no relation to) and that I need to call this number to take the appropriate action. Oh, and it mentions that I need to show up in court if it's not dealt with. It's ridiculous because I have lived in this house for years, it's been in my family and I have always had this number. It's strange that after years of having a quite phone number I'm getting these kinds of calls.

Every time this number calls and leaves a message they are calling for someone that has the same last name as me. For example, "A restraining order has been filed against you, Marcus Scott..." or "James Scott", "Alice Scott". I think this is just a scam because apparently they're calling people with the same last names.

Received this number 877-254-0957 on my caller ID and it shows NBC 7 HERO PROG. I was tempted to call the number back, but I decided to google the number and according to the previous posts this is far from NBC 7 calling me.

Initially it was a computer saying an unintelligble name. The recorded voice message said it was Jay Romano from Mercantile Adjustment Bureau and then spiel about if you are not this person..... When I called back immediately I was asked for my phone number and the individual stated the name. I replied there was no one by that name at this number and to please remove it from their call list. I didn't give them the chance to say anything else because I hung up the call quickly.

This is a sleazy debt collector called Mercantile Adjustment Bureau, some guy calling himself Mr. Joseph Thompson.

Thanks to Skype for having the "NUMBER BLOCKING FEATURE"! Only problem is that you cannot stop calls until they call you once, then you can block them for good, my blocked call list is in the hundreds.

Received a Call looking for my spouse on my cell phone. Caller ID shows Blocked. a voice mail was left This message is for XXXXXX (not the correct person) This is Johnathan Hale from Documentary Delivery Services (obviously fake business), in regards to a claim file against you and your property located at XXXXXXX. (guess what we dont own it, LOL). XXXXX person you need to contact the client at 877-254-8054 otherwise they will take legal action against you and your property (Good Luck with that). I am so tired of getting these FRAUDULANT PHONE CALLS for either my self or my spouse. They need to be stopped. THATS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GO THRU IDENTITY THEFT.

Get this call about once every two weeks, asking for a Chavon or something like that, tell them that is not mu name and do not know that person, they rudely state are you sure you arent Chavon? I said well hell Ive had my same name for 51 years and it sure isnt Chavon, and furthermore I told them Ive had this number since august 2005 and to stop calling. She rudely stated the calls will continue until debt is paid, or " Chavon " updates his number? I was like what the heck? ??    Anyway, I put their number on my call blocker app and they are hung up on the very second they dial and goes thru, i never hear it ring. I dont owe any past due debts, and haven't in years, but you cant get these bottom feeders to believe it, main thing is, do not give out any personal information, and never acknowledge the debt, if in fact it is yours, because if the SOL has not run out yet, they can reinstate it and will start over if you so much as even agree to pay anything at all. Just hang up on them or dont answer, and report to your states Attorney Generals Office, lets get these wackos closed down.

And, one hour later, they are blocked. The guy they're looking for lives on the other side of the state, I've lived at the same address my whole life, and had the same cell number (which they are now calling) for the last 11 years. Wrong guy, I'm not Mr Alwood.

They called twice, so I called them back. On the first call someone picked up and denied that I was calling the number I was calling, and they denied that they had ever called me. Second call I heard an automated message identifying themselves as Mercantile and to wait for the next available representative. She answered, I asked why she called and gave her my number only, she searched it and gave me the name of someone they wished to contact. She said I will not be called again. I don't care if they do call me again, I'm just glad they weren't looking for me. If they call again, they're blocked.

Almost every day twice a day my cellphone gets a call from this number. This has happened since I purchased my phone back in 2008.  You would think after this long the idiots would realize they are not calling the person they are looking for.

I wish there was a way to get their personal phone number and return the pleasure they've given me.

I received the call at my work with recorded message that it's from the  "DEBT COLLECTOR" . I do not have any debt so I called back . The guy who answer the phone said this is Mercantile Adjutment . He asked for
my phone # and my name . He said "he can not fine any thing under my phone # and name "so he said give me your social security #  I told him I not giving you my SS# . He said we already have your SS# in our system . I hung up the phone.

This number calls me at least once a day asking for Judy fowler it is a recording. It gives you the option to hang up if you are not that person, but they keep calling. I called the number back it is Mercantile Adjustmet Bureau(a collection agency I guess). Spoke to a Mr. Brown he said they would remove my number. Hopefully they are an honest company and do as they said!

NEVER give your ss# or any other identifying information to these callers! Even if they say that they are calling from your own bank or credit card company. I worked in banking and there is a policy that all banks and financial institutions use: They NEVER call a customer and ask for his or her identifying information over the phone. EVER. They also never ask for information on a friend or family member. It's just not legitimate or safe business practice. These scammers will do or say anything they have to, to get you to part with your hard earned money. Just don't answer these calls. Have their number blocked by your phone carrier, if you can't take it anymore. They are lowlife creeps and more and more of them are popping up every day.

they keep calling me, too...and I don't know where/who to report them to here in my state.  BUT, I will find out somehow!  They do not stop calling when you tell them to!!!!!

This number keeps calling me asking for a Lucente and even when I do answer to tell them it's the wrong number, they keep calling.

I receive MULTIPLE calls EVERYDAY from this number looking for NANCY RIVERA - it is always a recording - i blocked the number so i no longer answer the calls but my voicemail gets full up with these stupid recordings.  Like others, i have tried to call the number but can never get a live person on the phone to remove my number --  I do not know any Nancy Rivera - and I have had this phone for over 4 years!   it's getting absolutely ridiculous -- with so many people out of work - this company can't employ even 1 LIVING person to take phone calls -- DISGUSTING!
Furthermore - they never are clear in identifying the name of the company that is leaving the message or attempting the call -  
I believe there are several violations going on here.

It's the same as others have reported. "Call (above number). From others on this site....it's a scam. So far, my "do not call" list has done nothing. Please do what you can to put a stop to it. Thank you

Do any of you use Craigslist or dating sites. usually these calls happen after you leak info regarding your location or whereabouts. then they can search utility records and fig out your debts. By sites such as Intelius and others. This is simply a social engineering type of exploit watch out. people that owe money know they owe money. Be smart be safe

Really bad Robo dialer instructing to callback for  a collection matter for Mercantile Adjustment Bureau out of New York.I returned the call to determine what it was about.  To cross reference, they needed the # they called plus address and last 4 of SSN# for verifiacation. This call was for old electric bill.  I asked her few questions to see if I could trick them into say anything that would violate collection laws, which she did not. As collectors go, she was not terrible.

Whether or not they are calling for an old account or a wrong number you can make them stop by the following; Write a letter to referencing your phone number telling them to stop calling you. Fax it to their headquarters: 716-929-8204 and mail a copy to Mercantile Adjustment Bureau LLC, 165 Lawrence Bell Dr, Suite 100, Williamsville, NY 14221.

As for making the actual account go away if it is you: either negotiate with them (i didn't; I'm not collector shill), contact the original creditor, or research advanced collector techniques-there are hundreds of websites and you can figure most of what you need to know without ever buying a book/course free if you read enough.

Someone called from this number who sounded like a robot whose batteries were dying.  It is bull*****. Don't bother with it.
