Any clue where this is from?

Hello, Ma'am, Thank you for your post. Your mother's story sounds similar to mine. Would you happen to remember the name of the lady you spoke to?

These people called my son, who has a mental illness, and then sent him a notice saying that they would take 49.90 out of his account every month for 20 months.  They are a scam, if they call you report then to the Better Business Bureau and also to the Attorney General of Minnesota whose number is 651-296-3353 also the local police department is at 651-775-3606.

My mother started receiving magazines out of the blue and when we went through her bank statement in May 2011 she called and had thought she had canceled these subscriptions.....we checked her sept account and they were still taking out 29.90. After checking her past statements they had never stopped taking money out of her account. So far they have taken $150. When she called back in May they had sent her cancellation papers, they never canceled anything....So she called them today to find out what was going on and to get her money back the lady that answered told my mother she was "lying and an idiot for saying she had proof she had canceled the subscriptions"...my mother was extremely upset and gave the phone to me I asked the lady what the matter was and she replied " when my mother can speak like an adult she will talk to her" and hung up on me.  I dialed the number again which happened to be a direct line to this lady..which if it was a call center thats odd to me because I have worked in and managed call centers for 7yrs of my life....theres 99% of the time some chain of people you need to go through.  I requested the supervisor and she told me she was so I asked for her supervisor over her she stated the owner was the only person over her and doesnt take calls so I asked for the companys address to which she stated she did not have to provide that to me.  After calling my mothers bank for advice I think now we will me contacting the sherrifs dept and changing my mothers account

When i looked this number up, I saw all the comments that people told me.   I tried to cancell this prescription and they took 39.90 out of my account then tried to take out 98.00 but I put a block on this number and told my bank about this transaction and now I have to fight this payment that was taken out of my account.  I would like to know how to report to the better business bureau.

My mother in law also was solicted by a magazine company. I am not sure of exactly what the phone conversation entailed but she was under the impression she was signing up for the Oprah magazine and only had to pay a one time payment of $26. They charged her card $49.90. And when she called to cancel they said it was past the cancellation date and they would drop her down from a 5 year subscription to a 20 month subscription at $49.90 a month. The lady who answered the phone was very rude and hung up on me. My mother in law also canceled her bank card but i would like to get the $49.90 refunded. Have you had any success? Please let me know what i can do to help stop these scammers.

i was solicited for $1 trial offer on magazines which if i did not want i had to call N cancel. when i tried to cancell the lady told me i'm sorry but your are too late & you are locked into a 2 year contract at $49.90 a month! I have tried repeatedly to get informationl about this company & they are very secretive & rude. Even to hanging up on me.  Now they took out the 49.90 on 7/26/11 & 49.90 on 7/27/11. when i called to complain they said oh yes we know. there is an issue with our billing. they could not give me an answer to when fixed or when - if i would be refunded. not to mention that these magazined that i started getting almost 3 months later don't even come to $20 at the newstand!  I learned that they are based out of Fidley Minnesota & there is no web address. i have filed a complaint with the bbb & would like information on a class action lawsuit if anyone has any.
i ultimately put a freeze of all debit transactions on my bank account & opened a new account to avoid any future money loss.  Here is my email should anyone with a similar story like to contact me. nancy6479@yahoo.com.

Called said he was selling my mom magazines for $1.99 per subscription per month. She ordered 4 and was told that she would be billed $8.00 on her checking acct each month for 5 yrs. She is 84 yrs old and did not discern that this is a scam and gave them checking acct info as well as her ss #.
We recieved a bill in the mail yesterday stating they were taking $39.90 a month out for a total of $995.00 when agreement is completed. I checked the address the letter was from and it is a UPS store in MN. When i called them they said that this company has a mailbox there but they never see them pick up mail. They said there are @ 300 fraudulous accts this company has stolen from. They gave me the number of the sherrif's dept there and they told me they know this is a scam. They can't seem to catch them because they are depositing the money in an out of country bank.

THIS COMPANT IS A FRAUD SELLING MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION AND IMMEDIATELY REPORT THEM TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.
