Called my cell.

I recieved a call today from a lady named jessica she said she needed to talk to my husband but the weird part is she didnt know his last name and she wouldnt give me her last name. When i asked what this was about she said she has information on him, thats all she said when i said i am his wife and i would like to know what this is about she hung up. Whatever im not stressin it, we dont owe anything all our bills are paid. Definitely think its a scam

I received a call from someone who identified herself as "Deputy Dillon of the Office of CRA"  , on my answering machine, stating that I needed to call them back or have my lawyer call them back immediately.

I called and confirmed that they are a collection agency in Virginia Beach, VA.

Time to get the phone number changed

Some girl named Amber called and wanted to speak to my husband but would not tell me what it was for my husband called them and told him he asks to many questions and he better pay five hundred and some dollars or they will get the FBI involved and the IRS. They would'nt tell him anything else except threatning him then they would keep hanging up on him. The last time he called they told him to tell me his wife that I better call them back with my check book in hand. THEY WERE VERY NASTY AND THREATNING. ALL THEY WANTED WAS ACCESS TO MY BANK ACCOUNT.

yes, i got a call from these people today, on my brothers phone. He said that they didn't seem like bill collectors, sounded more like a lawyer, or a detective. I called back-using his phone, and got just an automated gatekeeper and the name..CVA. This as as far as i'll go with this.Sounds like a complicated scam bill collector to me. I'll pay that student loan when i have the cash already.

I also received two calls looking for a Michael Hoseington i have no idea who this is. They had my Personal Cell and personal desk phone number. Very weird. The names I incontered were Amber and Mr Sid.

I too received a call from the office of the CRA 1-757-336-8065 and 1-877-394-0395. A girl called and asked for a Michael Hosington, she had called my personal work number so I thought she was looking for someone in a different dept. When I asked her questions trying to figure out if this person worked here she hung up on me. Moments latter my personal cell number had a message. I listened to the message and someone named Amber was telling Michael Bosington to call immediatly or else. So I called them back and got a Mr Sid. He told me they must have the wrong number and he would take it out of the system. I gave him both numbers and he said he took them out. I then said I was still bothered that they had my personal work and personal cell number that this person must know me. He then said he was looking for Michael Hoseington not me. Does anyone know how they come up with personal numbers and crazy names? Do I have anything to worry about?

recieved called saying you might not know whats going on but you or the person representing you need to get in touch with them her name was valerie have no idea who they are the number was 1 877-394-0395

Got 2 calls this morning from someone claiming to be with this compay.  She claimed that Federal Law required that she verify my social security number before she would even tell me the reason she was calling. I had already Googled the office of C.R.A., and was aware that this could be either a scam or someone who was attempting to unlawfully collect an invalid debt.  I am also smart enough to know not to give my social security number over the phone.

I would also like to know how they got a private work phone number and my cell phone numbers.  These are not number that I give out regularly.

I got a phone call today from a 18646748002. there person left the message. she sounded very shady, she almost didnt know who or what she was leaving me a message for. she left another number 18777049458 and said she needed to speak to me or whomever would be representing me. i did call it back and i got a male. didnt catch the name. he got some of my info and told me i had a broken contract and i simply chuckled. he got crazy and said "did i say something funny"? i told him it wasnt against the law to laugh i apologized and said state your business when he old me what i owed i said ok well send me a bill. he said im going to help you and file a refusal to pay so they can take immediate action and you can learn your lesson about not holding your contract. i said hey you cant do that. he said have a good day and hung up. i called again and got a manager daniel wade. what a jerk. all i wanted was his addres so i could file a complaint. even after i stated it was not against him personally but against his shady company he still was irrate and mean. i dd yell and curse at him because i have not been treated with such disrespect. he said call back with a better attitude and hung up. i called back a third time got another male who sounded disoriented as well. i said nicely im returning a call and gave him my name and right away- are you calling to pay? he had a major attidude as well and said i was unproffesional because i defaulted on this loan which btw was 5 years ago! and a balance of $174.00. he acted like it was a million dollars and said dont call me until you have my $100. i would like to find out how i could report them.

Received a threatening call claiming that I owe a dept. right name, wrong dept. No idea who these people are. CRA ( credit recovery agency)

I think I have another # 877-704-9458. But caller ID showed 757-271-1549.

Caller was rude after I told her the person wasn't available. She hung up on me.

I received a call from Valerie at  the offices of CRA demanding I return her call at 877-704-9458.  I don't return anyones call with threatening tones and a vague message.

I got a call from some woman who said she was from the "Office of the CRA". I had never heard of them. She asked that I call back and that it was very URGENT. She said she needed to speak with me or someone who was representing me. My bills are always paid and I have never been in legal trouble ever. So out of curiosity I looked up this CRA and found this site. Looks like someone is trying to run a scam. How the hell do these people get our names and numbers? There has got to be a way to get rid of these people. The name and number that came across my caller ID was D. Johnson.  864-569-0719

oh ya, never ever call them back, juristicon thing. if they want to do business with they can call you, plus it looks good when you show the sheriff your phone record.

say "apparently you do not have any of my information there for we do not have any legal bussiness, (and then skip up to the sherif and governor part.)" do not break sentence while they try to intrupt you. and hang up! f'n leaches anyways. they will mail you a false contract, do not sign, take it to your sherif, the best part is when they forge your signature. god i hate typing from cell phones, sorry for missing letters and words. when you go to the sherif always press charges and dont let the sherif talk you out of it. the only info he needs is the phone# and cra or who ever, and the person you talked to . a warrent will get the rest. i hope this helps . and remember always stand your ground.

and if they say yes to signed contract say "send it to my mailing address" give them a mailing address only, dont verify any info, your name, social, birthday, nothing. angain with verbal contract. just ask them when they insist "dont you have all my info right in front of you," when they insist again, "all i can legally give you is "a"(not "my") mailing address." if they insist again

and also that you will be contacting the state governer, and don't use these as idle threats either, because if they dont you can sue them and their wives (no joke) and then hang up, dont agrea that you are that person, because if you do you give up your juristiction over them. now if it is a wrong # just skip to calling the sherif part. and if they say yes to a signed

Called once at 877-261-6486. I usually never answer numbers I don't know, but I knew if I didn't answer, they would call again until I answer. So I answered. They said this was Bradley from the CRA. They were looking for a John Jacobson. I said i didn't know who that was and they insisted they thought I knew. So this is what i said;

"LISTEN, PUNK, I DO NOT KNOW WHO THE FUCKK U ARE TALKING ABOUT. SO STOP INSISTING I AM THAT PERSON! GOODBYE! @SS!"

before i got a chance to hang up, they hung up on me first.

the first words out of your mouth when a collector calls should be " do we have a signed contract" if they say no tell them that "then we have no legal business together and that if they contact you or anyone else pertaining to you  ever again or that you you will be calling the sherif (not police, because police dont know anything about law, and are for protecting the city, were as the sherif if the to protect the people and your rights

remember never ever sign anything, if it gets that far. never go into verbal contract "i didnt know i owed that" "never say ok" or "agreed" and never ever say that you understand because in legalize it means to stand under, or to give up your rights, and when you do understand you are entering into verbal contract. the first words out of your mouth when a collector

they call my sisters cell asking for me and she asked them what wanted and where are they located. they would not answer her at all. so I called them back and told that they called twice and if they called a 3rd time I would call the police.so you know they got loud and rude so I hung up.

I would just inform them on the 2nd call that the 3rd unwanted call its harassment.

I have resorted to having my phone number chagned - hopefully this will end the harrasing calls - I'm sick and tired of the calling!

Call left from Miranda Whitten 877-261-6486 stating I was the contact relative for John Jacobsen (adult son of my ex husband- whom I have not had contact with for 9 years)- left a file #762-491- stated she was with the office of CRA? re paperwork.  When I attempted to call back the # would not accept calls from blocked phone #s.

Received two phone calls now from these people at my work and the ladies name is Marisa. She like all the others it sounds like uses the words Urgent, Legal Representative and call back immediately. I have not called because there are several complaints all over the internet about these people but I haven?t seen a post saying how to stop them from calling?

Mr. Caigle called and left message on answering machine. He seemed to have trouble choosing his words, but said it was URGENT that a particular person(he stated their name) needed to call this number IMMEDIATELY.  He really liked using the word URGENT.  He never stated who he was representing. The caller ID showed the number calling as 414-433-1630.
This, of course, is a private number located in Hales Corner, WI apparently near Milwaukee.

I'm also receiving calls - stating they are the CRA - I don't know what that is - they are trying to get in touch with my ex-sister in law - to which I have not been in that family for 20 years - I have been living in my current apartment for 9 or so months - from what I understand the person they are looking for has resided in the same house and city for many years - now how can they find me - and not her? This is just too weird - they - like other posters - state how urgent this is - for the person they are looking for to call them - or me call them back - I DO NOT want involved - and I have no idea where this person they are looking for lives - altho - I've told her brother (my x) that someone is looking for her -he doesn't want involved either. They have also been calling my son who lives in Mass - in the last few years looking for his "aunt" and he has no clue where she is either. I live in CA - and have for 20 years - now go figure how they can find me and not the person they are looking for! Thank goodness they call during the day - I'm at work - and they just leave messages........

Please add 2 more names in this list, Amy and Lindsay who are related with this number also called me but didn't know the person they were asking about.

got a message on my phone asking for a person (wilfredo maja) whom I do not even know.  The message was from "Mr Sid" from the CRA offic and he said that it was very urgent that wifredo return his call today.  I called back just to find out who they were. A man with a Southern accent answered the phone, "offices of the CRA."  I asked who he was and he responded, "Chris Adams."  I asked why they had called and he was very evasive and said don't worry about it I'll take your number off the list. I asked "what does the CRA do?" and he resonded, "private stuff."  I kept asking questions and he got very angry and hung up on me.

How do you stop these so called people from calling family members? I don't even know what they want or who they are.
Can I bring some kind of legal action against them?
When you call them back thier rude, and won't tell you where thier located or what they want.
I'm going to call my lawyer.
