Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Find out what they can and can't do and realize that scammers with spoofed numbers don't care how many laws they break.  If they threaten enough people, some will pay them.

I'm willing to go in on this, i dont believe its legal for a collection agency to harrass nor threaten people. nor is it legal to call more than once a day or call family members. im a single mother who makes no money at all had to settle for a low payin job plus trying to go to school.

I've also recieved similar calls from these people, I think its time based on all the comments below that we find an attorney and file a class action suit against this firm for harrasment and invasion of privacy being they are calling relatives and friends who have no buisness knowing anything about finances or other personal issues regarding us.  If your interested in me pursuing this post a comment and I'll check back regularly I'll call my attorney and see what we can do.

i got a call from this number, they left a voicemail stating i needed to call them or they would be coming to my place of employment to serve papers. i find it interesting that they do not identify the company they are representing. they keep refering to "our client". well, i feel certain that this would find them in violation of the collection laws in my state. they must clearly identify who they are and also they must mail something within 10 days of the phone call which would show what the debt is.

James Kirkland also called me from a number that I found to be a fax number of the county clerks office from my old hometown, in east TN. where I haven't lived in 5 years.

changing their outgoing number to one that shares the area code of your phone... pretty clever.

They called me for my brother in law who i have no contact with ! I pay my bills but they don't . i don't appreciate nasty phone calls for someone I've got NO CONTACT WITH ! ESPECIALLY when Im a responsible bill payer with excellent credit "

I have got calls from 877-288-7030 and they stated the same thing. Luckily for me I talk to people and find out things and I was given a number 8556721988 to call and they contact those individuals to get those calls to stop it doesnt hurt to try

Have received calls from "Private" from 877-288-7030 & from 855-867-9855 telling me my daughter will be served with papers and has judgement of $3000 against her - but if paid within 20 minutes they will settle for $500.  As a concerned mother, of course I was alarmed and thinking of paying it myself.  My daughter read these posts and alerted me that it might be a scam.  I wonder how much money they get from concerned parents?

So I just spent the last twenty minutes buggy the s*** out of them.  Just spam the number people! ITS LEGAL!

These people keep calling me and saying that they are going to be serving me court papers and saying that they are going to be coming to my place of employment and residence. I believe it to be all b***s*** and I also saw complaints from other people who are experiencing the same problem. Whatever company is behind this phone number needs to be reported.

i started getting calls from this 877-288-7030 at my house. at first i ignored it. but i decided to listen to the voicemail and they said something about a pending litigation to be to be placed against my son. so i called them back to find out what was going on or at least get them to stop calling me. i spoke with a woman on the phone and she said that my son has 24hrs to contact them back or they will be having him served papers at work and she wouldn't even tell me what was going on. i asked if they could make the calls to my phone stop and she hung up on me. so i talked to my husband about it when he got home. he gave me a number for a man named chris his number is 855-672-1980 said he could help. so i called chris and explained wht was going on. he talked to my son and then got everything taken care of for me and my family. no more calls and no more threats. i encourage you to call chris if your having the problems i did.

I just received a call from the 1-877-288-7030.  I didn't answer because it showed up private, well they called right back and the number showed up.  I didn't answer.  After listening to a threatening voicemail from some woman named Kim saying that a claim was in her office with my name and ss# on it, I knew it was a scam.  The voicemail was rushed and unprofessional.  I have to call them between 12-5 or else they are going to show up at my home or job.

What exactly did they say?

They called for me today and called my brothers ex-wife.  They have been divorced for 20 some odd years!  I don't owe anyone any money that I am aware of so not sure why or what the heck the claim number is all about.  I called the number they gave and it went right to voice mail which I did not leave a message since I figured it was FRAUD of some sort.  Her name was Kimberly Smith...no company name.

can you tell me what ended up happening did they come out or when you talked to them? was it a supoena for court, or did they want you to make arrangements on an old bill? they left a message saying they had a claim with my name and ss and to call 8772887020. this is on a may 25 friday, and they didn't want to come and serve me at my job or home.

I am so glad to be reading the above comments and would like to thank everyone for posting their comments.  I too have been receiving calls and have been getting the same results as being served with threats and even them calling my neighbors.  Do these people have anything better to do besides now bothering peoples neighbors.  This company should be reported to the better business bureau and be eliminated from the todays systems.  Some people will hire jerks to do their dirty work.

They called my parents asking for an old married making that is at least 10 years old.  Must her.bill collector.  they also lied.and said that I need to testify in court,.which is.an illegal method to get someone too call back.

I got a call from md james kirkland who said to have my id ready he would be out to serve me today. he has been calling for a week. the last time he called it was from within my area code. I dont know what to do.

they called my moms house how they got her number i havent lived there in 9 yrs said they will be serving me papers monday no date just monday between 12-5pm how they can leave full detailed message on a machine is illegal as far as i know there are privacy act that companies are to abide by and as for coming to my house or job go ahead ........

They Called me 3 times in a row as a Private number aned wanted be to call them before 3pm eastern time...really? If they were ledgit, can they call you in a weekend? They just said they were NCR

Just recieved one of these calls as well.  Telling me they would be out in a week to serve me papers.  Glad I read everyone else's comments.  I will wait and see if they show.

They have been calling me for more than a Year stating they were going to serve me.  The individual who keeps claiming to come out to serve me is NOT a Process Server in my County so I know for a fact that this is a hoax.  The State that Iive in, Process Servers must be appointed by the County and renewed each Year.  They may be a collection agency, but I do not like their tactics and therefore will continue to ignore them....

i received a call from these people on 4/20/12 stating that i was going to be served about a civil claim. they did show up to my job this morning with some documents i was so scared i had my boss walk me out to my car after work. i am going to fight it in court i do remember owing money to the filing party but i thought i paid it off the amount is like triple what i owe. next time i will try and get resolved voluntarily.
