Do you a phone number that they can actually be reached at? They just ripped a bunch of people off in AZ (employees). Of course when we were hired on they gave us an employee handbook with contact info to HR etc. made us sign that they gave it to us and then turned around and asked for it back.
John O 2014-06-04 00:41:36 Unknown
Why did you comment about contacting the FCC?
Anon 2014-05-11 23:07:43 Unknown
The irony of this response. Windy City Call Center is the actual name of the company that calls you to talk about furthering education. They are a lead generation business meaning they get paid by for profit colleges to call people who signed up on phony job websites to call those same people asking if they are interested in education. It's a s****y place to work, I used to do it. Glad I'm out though one of the most pointless jobs I've ever had.

Good Luck with the Do Not Call list complaint as it will not and will not ever apply to these calls. They are not covered by this legislation as YOU SIGNED UP FOR THIS INFORMATION by agreeing to the terms and conditions of the job search website that you put your info on. Maybe you do need to continue your education with your level of reading comprehension. Just sayin'
anonymous 2013-12-13 00:35:11 Telemarketer
For all of you who think that you never signed up for these calls or for information you are absolutely INCORRECT. Although you did not request info on the sign up form, you still agreed with the site's (Monster or Snagajob) terms and conditions when you apply for a job or create an account. The only way around this is to not apply through those sites at all or to (possibly?) read the terms and conditions before you put your cell, work, or whatever number on the internet. Hanging up on the person or not answering just gets you put in line in the system for another callback, when all you need to do is politely say that you're not interested. Signing up for the DO NOT CALL list or complaining to the FTC does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING because you signed up for this information and even CONGRESSIONAL LEGISLATION (nice big words there CB, if you only knew what it meant) cannot help you. Just be a grown up and say "I'm not interested" and don't be a dick to the person on the phone? They are just trying to make money with their jobs to feed their families, just like you're trying to do with yours. Good luck to all of you that STILL think that you didn't sign up for this or that you're protected by the big bad do not call list. I'm sure the FTC will personally come save you from these calls like superman LOL.

Just recieved a call from this number at 8:51 PM. It rang three times and disconnected before I could answer. I called it back and when they answered they said hello Kimberly, which is my wifes name. I told them that I wasn't Kimberly, but her husband and asked what it was in reference to. Very politely the male said that she had applied for a job through snagajob. And then asked to speak to her. I told him that I thought that she was already in bed and may be asleep, but would check. He tried to stop me and offered to call back tomorrow. By then I made it to the bedroom and my wife was on her laptop and while still on the phone I asked her if she had applied for a job at snagajob. She said that she was applying to work Holiday hours at Kohls and was still on the website finishing up the application. I didn't know that she was even applying for a job. She was shocked that she hadn't even finished the application for Kohls and they were calling her. Apparntly, they offer assistance of some sort to help your chances of getting hired. At this point, it doesn't seem to actually be an application really to work at Kohls. Just a way to sell services to promote schooling. She told them that she had checked the box saying that she wasn't interested in furthering her education and was only wanting a job to make extra money for Christmas. The conversation ended quickly then.

i believe you are correct, i used snagajob and now they won't stop calling
JM 2013-08-28 20:36:32 Unknown
I try and sell them a cemetery plot and a pre-planned funeral. I figure if they are calling on a phone I pay for through a service I pay for then I can try and make some money on the call too. It's amazing how many hang up on me and never call back.

Identity: Snagajob.com - An online resource for seeking employment.
If you signed up with Snagajob. com to help seek employment, they also provide resources for continuing education.
I called them back at the number listed above, they answered, "Snagajob" and asked if I was interested in continuing my education. I said "No", so they took me off the list. Very polite and very professional...Done.

Never heard of snagajob. I do use careerbuilder but don't recall asking for any training info or providing my #. I wonder if they scan online resume's for those numbers. Next time I'll answer and politely ask them to remove my number. If that doesn't work, I'll "electric dreams" their butts... :-)

Anon is correct, for I have worked the same company actually the ones you all are complaining about. A lot of times it was that people forgot to uncheck the box. Swearing and being childish to these people who are working minimum wage jobs just like everyone else gets you no where. You need to say put me on your DO NOT CALL list and they are by law never to call again. It is all through a computer so grow up and be smart, these people have no control over who calls them a computer does it for them nor do they have control of how snag a job website works.
Nicole Vee 2013-03-08 00:56:41 Unknown
This stupid number kept on calling me, non- stop every second, every minute, everyday. So if anybody have this kind of issue going on now, please let me know ASAP..........
ANON 2013-03-04 20:17:12 Unknown
I've worked in telemarketing in the New York area. Can you tell? I wanted to elaborate. Computers are dialing you because you agreed. There is an agent that just sits their with a headset. They don't actually do anything lol. If you hang up or ignore the call. The computer takes the call as a no answer and trys back later. Thats why you idiots swearing keep getting calls. By the way a hostile threat to an agent you can actually be charged for, so dont do it. When the person picks up listen for 5 seconds decide and if you want to be off tell them you want to be on their do not call list. If you get a call in a few days its another company. 90% of unwanted calls are usually because the person had adhd wasnt paying attention to what they were filling out and asked for it. So the only idiots here are the people complaining.
ANON 2013-03-04 20:04:21 Telemarketer
Wow, people are not thinking. You all agreed to it by filling out that in site pop up. It's in the Snag A Job privacy policy. Pay a little more attention and press no thanks or skip. All these people are trying to do is see if you want to pursue education and set you up with the right school so you can get information about them. I'll admit it's annoying but this is how free websites make money. What??? Did you really think snag a job was going to find you all jobs for free. They are for profit. All companies sell info, even google does it. They sell your info under the condition it cannot be resold and usually selling it to worthy companies. Do you really think Google gives you a 10 gig gmail account free. LMAO. Wake up people, you all agreed to it because you didnt read the fine print opt out or skip. Which by law makes it okay for them to call anytime before 9pm. LOL.
-The DNCR (Do Not Call Registry) is there to reduce solicitations. If your on the list. Then every month the gov. sends the list to call centers and they scrub them with the list they got from snag a job, google etc. This way people on the Do Not Call don't get called. But its not perfect. First it can take up to a month before your number is factored in, second although the gov. can fine a company for calling people on the list. They realize the system isnt perfect and you would have to get a ton of calls from someone if your on the list before the gov. would even consider fining a company.
-Finally if your getting political calls. HAHAHAHA. The gov. is exempt from all the rules, they can call you as many times as they want before 9pm.
-The easiest way is to stop it is to calmly ask to be taken off their list or put on their private do not call list. You may get one more call at most by the time the computer updates it. All you people swearing or hanging up lol the computer between the telemarketer and you is just gonna keep calling. Swearing doesnt work just ask.
-By the way if you dont like these rules go live in another country, they are laws.

If you apply to a job through Snag a Job they put you on their calling tree, offering you school online opportunities. I just called them and asked to be put on the do not call list. The representative was very nice, and only made 1 additional attempt to sell me, but as soon as I reiterated that I did not want them calling me anymore, she thanked me and said she would take me off the list.
