Mr Obama had nothing to do with your calls.   They're being initiated by small-time mall-rat/kitchen table debt scammers.   These people regularly ignore the do not call rules.  As well as any other rule they can get away with.

Just got a call from this number.  They declined to leave a voice mail.  CID = 800 Service

Thanks again DoNotCall.gov?

It's strange that the NSA can illegally track, catalog & record all US calls & most calls around the globe but no US government agency will enforce existing telecom laws to protect the consumer?  But they will waste tax dollars on such things as "DoNotCall.gov" in order to facilitate more government expansion?

My husband took a call from this number. They instructed him that they had papers to serve on me. He gave me the phone. I asked the lady what kind of papers and she said that she did not know that they were sealed in a envelope. So I asked her who was the person filing a claim against me and she said Southwest. She then proceeded to give me the same phone number and a claim number. When I asked her what her name was, she gave me her name. I told her that I was going to forward this to my lawyer to find out what was going on. I asked her what was her number and her location, all she said was she was a processor in the state of Virginia and could not give out that information. She had previously told my husband that I could pick the papers up or they would serve me at home or on the job. When I asked for her number again, she proceeded to give me the 877-301, and I interrupted her and told her that I believe this is a scam and my lawyer would proceed with this inquiry. I will see what my lawyer finds out and forward the information to the local sheriff's office. I will post later the outcome.

I just got a call at my work from a guy identifying himself as a process server whose number was blocked asking for my correct address because I was being served.  He didn't give me his name.  I didn't give him my address but instead asked who was serving me.  Process servers CAN give you that information, but instead of answering the question he gave me the 877 number and a "File" number and told me to call them to get a cease and desist from them so he would stop contacting me.  I called the 877 number and all it said as "Southwest" and prompted me to an operator option.  I didn't choose the option.  I couldn't think of anyone who would be suing me so I did a Google search and found this page.  If I get another call, I will ask for his process server license number.  If I am being served, the process server would be local and would be (should be) licensed with the state.  I will also alert my employer (a law firm).

I had the same problem today. I kept getting unknown numbers calling for weeks now and finally got a message on my answering machine that basically said the same thing. I haven't received any papers from anyone and now all of sudden this. Sounds to be a major scam of people trying to steal identities. If anyone has any more info on this let me know. As I will do the same.

Yet another version of the "ADR scam": a call from yet another individual telling me that there are papers to be served and I must reply.  The tone becomes more aggressive with each call, now insisting that I am "not in compliance" and that there will be serious consequences from the "plaintiff."  But considering that I have never received any mail from these people, I owe nothing to anyone, and there is no "plaintiff" suing me, the whole thing is an obvious phishing expedition.
