Got a call from Dayna McNeil at UsYellowPageDirectory.com., phone #866-883-5750. She said that she had an agreement that we would use their service for a year and we agreed to pay for the following year. Quality Control called to confirm this and erased the comments I made about that I would not pay for this if there was not a contract in writing supporting this statement. This company is a disgrace and the people that work for it evidently have no conscience or ethics. She is a dirtbag that thrives on tricking people and deceiving them rather than going out and getting a real job. I have filed a complaint with the FTC (877-382-4357) and the girl that took my complaint said the only way this company would be shut down is with many MORE complaints. This company is a SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told Dayna I would not pay and she said that I would be turned over to collections. Good luck Dayna, you bi***!!!

I also just got a call from these people. They are the second group of people that I have heard from this week. I've worked with the public for 30 years now and very careful as to what I answer because of all the scams out there. I put him on hold and he hung up while I was Googling their phone number. I'll be ready for him when he calls back!!! I can't believe that they are still doing this after all this time. This must be profitable for them or they wouldn't still be doing it! Same number, same caller ID of Palm Beach Florida! Why hasn't someone been able to stop them from working their scam?
Thank you guys for all your helpful info!

I never got the name correct as to who the person was that was calling.  But she said she needed me to verify our company's information so that they could fulfill the "Rest of the 2 year contract you have from May 2010 through May 2012".  Suspecting SPAM, I told her that I wasn't the person to talk to but if she gave me a name and number where I could check this out and call her back, I would do that.  She said that she cannot receive calls because her phone is outgoing only.  She indicated that it would only take me a second to verify that data.  I told her that I woudl not do that until I had verification of the contract from our office manager.  She said she could call me back later, and then hung up.

The number came up as 888-883-5750.

They called my office, wanting to "verify our internet yellow pages information before they sent us an invoice."  I told them we don't have any internet yellow pages listing, because we don't advertise.  It's a scam to get some poor unsuspecting person to "veryify"  the publicly available information they have on you, then they send you a bill for an internet ad you never wanted and won't let you cancel.  They tricked my store manager at my other business into this last year, and we got suck with some internet listing we didn't need or want.
When I told her we don't have any internet ads, she said "well someone does."  And I said no we dont, because we don't advertise, and she hung up on me!

Back in the Fall someone contacted our company and asked to confirm some information regarding our company for the yellow pages.  They asked to "confirm" only and never mentioned that there would be a charge.  On April 1, 2011, we received an invoice for $479.95.  When I contacted them regarding the invoice, they insisted that my manager approved the listing.  When I checked with him, he said all he did was confirm our information.  I realized then it was a scam.

I spoke with Natalie Codner and told her it was not an authorized request.  I also sent e-mails.  After that, I never heard back until today (June 2nd).  We received a fax letter demanding payment.  It is from the sam # listed above.

I called and again told them NO and did mention I read all about them online of how they SCAM companies.  As yet, I have not heard from them.

I too have received phones calls and faxed letters from Dayna McNeil with usyellowpagedirectory.com. They start out calling to verify your companies information and then a few weeks later you receive calls stating that you have a past due invoice with them.  I never received any any invoices and this is not a normal invoice that our company has ever paid in the 4 years that I have been with our company.  Yesterday 03/15/2011 I received another invoice and then a fax stating that our company owed $479.95 for our yellow page listing.  This just didn't seem like a valid invoice to me so I Googled Dayna McNeil and her name came up under scams with the same type stories multiple times.  So anyone receiving this type of call or invoice you should not pay and report them right away.

I was contacted via fax from a Jenny Parker @ USYellowPagedirectory.com on Jan 27, 2011.  Her letter stated that we have an outstanding invoice from October of 2010.  That our general manager at the time agreed to render their services.  And that they have a tape recording of him agreeing to the contract, and since it is less than $500.00 a recording would do instead of a signed contract. I am the bill payer here, and was unaware of this new company, so I brought the letter to the attention of our other general manager.  He said, dont pay them, as he too was unaware of our first general manager hiring this company on.  He wanted to see a signed contract, but I told him, they only have a recording.  He said, absolutley not, let em send us to collections! No signed contract, no pay.
I made a letter and faxed it and then emailed a copy to Jenny Parker that day (I wanted to have proof positive that I contacted them), declining payment and for them to contact our other general manager directly if they had any questions.  No response from them.
Today, a "Ms." Shapiro faxed me a letter (and it sounded like the first girl didnt let anyone know that we have already declined payment).  So I re-faxed and re-emailed to them the first response letter I had sent to them on Jan 27.  The funny part of her letter was that she asked me for a contact phone number, excuse me, but your a Directory, and you dont have our number?! Anyway, long story short, she finally read the letter I sent and contacted my GM.  He was explaining to her that we dont approve of this invoice, that we already use a directory (DEX Yellow pages- a real company)  and just before she hung up on him, she said, I just needed your permission.  Permission?  For what?  I emailed her asking her to elaborate on what she needed persmission for, but I have not yet heard from her. Then I went online and found this site!  I sent them over another letter telling them to not bother contacting us again, and if they do, I will forward any letters to our attorney.  Again, no response.  This first letter I sent over to Shapiro today, she called me back within 10 minutes. So whats the delay now?!
I would have to agree that this is not a legitamit company, and please dont send them anything!

I had this exact same experience with a "Jenny Parker" from this company.  The information that was on the website about our company was completely wrong so even if they did call to confirm the info, they didn't list it correctly. When they initally called, our office manager was under the impression that he was confirming our info for our phone book listing and clearly stated that he was not agreeing to purchase anything over the phone.   We received a bill for $479.95 and a fax today that this was our last warning but would receive a 5% discount if paid imediately by credit card.  When I called she hung up on me (twice) and now she will not even answer my calls or my emails.  It is such a scam... please report them to the BBB in NY, as I just did.  Let's shut them down!

Dana  from US Yellow Pages Directory 877-315-4550 X 303 ~ She's a new one, but I recognize the scam.  They're counting on whomever answers the phone not to know what has or hasn't been ordered, and will nag until you give in.  I simply do not return the call (and I keep immaculate records as to what HAS been ordered!)

We were sammed by this company last year and paid the bill telling them to take us off their website.  We received another bill just recently and I have been trying to contact someone there.  Today I left a very angry message to Accounts Receivable telling them to return my call tomorrow or Monday anbd warning them that I am notifying the BBB.  I looked on the website and  we have no listing there.  This truly a scam.  We had the same thing with a light bulb company as well.  Beware of that.

Same here....Dayna McNeil (from usyellowpagedirectory.com/877-315-4550) sent us invoices for $479.95.  She claims that we authorized an online ad.  I even listened to a recording that seemed to sound dubbed with only the "yes" answer of my employee many decibels louder than their so called quality control person.  I beleive it was spliced and spliced poorly.  We heard the story that we had previously used their servives.  When I confronted that false accusation it was met with "it was a free 1 year advertisement."  When I told her we are not going to pay for it Dayna faxed me a referrral to collections letter within 5 minutes. Well I must go FTC complaint has been filed and now onto the BBB.org and fcc.org to round out the complaints list.  Additionally I think I will give Mike Cox our states Attorney General a phone call.  Keep filing complaints on them people only way they will go away.

In April I received a call verifying my business contact information, my name and position. I then received a call, in June, stating that I had order services with usyellowpagedirectory. The representative had a tape recording ready to play for me and I heard a recording of my voice verifying the business information. I was then told, by the representative, that I had agreed to pay $479.95 for 12 months of services with USYellowPageDirectory.com and threatened me with collection if I did not pay within 30 days. At no time during the call, nor the recording, was I offered a service, and did not agree to pay anything for a listing with this company. The representative was adamant that I had to pay. I stated that I believed I was verifying information on my account, the representative restated that she would need to turn me in to collection if I did not remit payment within 30 days. I did not order a product from this company and do not wish to.   I have filed a complaint with the BBB in NY.

Same thing happened to me. Alex Shapiro called constantly, talking to me first, then asking for the president, and finally reaching our billing department. It is a scam, but it's more annoying than anything. Just don't sign anything they send you. Always read the fine print. I took care of it by filing a complaint at http://www.bbb.org/ using both of the numbers they contacted me from. They are as follows:1-888-629-3633 (411yellowpagedirect.com) and 1-877-315-4550 (usyellowpagedirectory.com). After filing the complaints, I was contacted by Dayna McNeil who let me know that it was a misunderstanding between our two companies, and the account had been credited. Hope this helps.

Also worth noting- My controller and I discussed that unless they have WRITTEN authorization, a phone call isn't legally binding. It needs to be in writing for them to truly enforce. Because they are a telemarketing company, this isn't happening.

Thanks everyone who has posted on here and given a good way deal with this nuisance!

Hello! I got swindled as well by this scam. When I initially received the call, I SPECIFICALLY stated that I do not have authorization to approve the service. I receive so many calls to update information, that I didn't think anything of it. Then I received the invoice for $479.95 and ensuing faxes and calls from Alex Shapiro (to various people at my company).

She left a VM for a coworker stating that I told her "send me to collections" and then I supposedly hung up on her. In the 6 years I've been with my company I have *never* hung up on someone on purpose. Hmm, how suspicious.

Anyhow, I per the FTC number listed above, I placed a complaint. I asked what I should do about future faxes and the woman told me that I should just pretend it never happened. For calls, I should tell them that I can't help them. I have passed this information onto anyone who might receive a call from either Alex Shapiro OR Dayna McNeil.

Additionally I will be placing a complaint with the BBB online.

What miserable lives Alex and Dayna must lead personally... being fraudulent during the day, has to affect their personalities and home lives.

Annoying telemarketer is right! At first I thought it was our standard Yellow pages account verifying company info.  They call and start verifying info and you can't get a word in edgewise. Next thing you know they are talking about your invoice. They then transfer you to their QA. Once I realized it was sales I told the QA guy to forget it. Next thing we know is invoice and collections. We clearly turned it down during the QA conversation.  I would have hung up inj the first place if they had not sounded like our normal Yellow pages. We will be filing a complaint with FTC.

Same thing happened to me from Alex Shapiro. Saying I owe 479.95 or they would turn us over for collections. The recording was only me saying Yes. I did say yes this is my name, company, etc.
Never did I agree to pay anything. When they played it back they put their own words in and I said yes.........

I have posted on this site, Better Business Bureau, and wrote the Attorney General in New York.
My boss wrote a letter back to Alex.

Please everyone write and complain against this company.

I too had the same thing happen to me in March 10 on (US Yellow Page Directory.com).
All I did was verfiy the store name, address and etc. They are going to turn us over if we don't pay.  My boss said he would not pay for a scam like this.
I looked in the advertising section for us and we were not listed. Maybe I should sue them for threating calls?
All of us need to turn into Better Business Bureau so we can get them stopped.

They called and spoke with a temp at our company.  When the invoice arrived we immediately sent an e-mail cancelling the service within their time frame and they are claiming we are a day late and must pay the cancellation charge.  The temp told me she asked repeatedly that there would be no charge for the fisrt year and we would not receive a bill untill the renewal of the second year and was repeatedly told yes that is correct. The recording they sent me was editied and all I could ever hear was our temp saying yes to the company name, location etc.  DO NOT fall for this or pay any invoice if we do receive something from a collection agency it will go to our lawyers.
