I received the card in the mail about a free 100 gift card so I called they wanted 2.95 from my credit card to activate it but I was asking what company are they and why the fee...the guy was getting smart and hung up after he said we dont have time I cant call back because he already entered the claim number. I didnt give them anything...I went online and saw that it didnt seem right so I called back questing about it again just to get a number and website and location another guy was getting smart ...then I hung up to google if it was a scam and it is!!! thank you because now its confirmed that its a scam!!! I just got a call I won a 100.00 dollars from Walmart or target, he wanted my credit card ,I sad I don't just give out my credit card,he said my name is Jon Russo my number such and such ,I said I call you back I need to check out you company smart shoppers , it is a scam I am thankful that I checked him when he called back ,after ten min , I told him you are a scam ,and he said have a blessed day and hung up,hope they catch these guys so other people are taken

I was calling a 800 number off of a legitimate business web site and got these guys instead. I did not give them my card info. i reported it to the business. They said they were out of Phoenix AZ. When I asked more questions I was hung up on.

Hello i was also called 2 days ago saying i had won a $100 gift card from walmart. But they told me that there would be a $4.99 fee for shipping and activation. So i asked to speak to the manager before i could give my debit card number. And he said he would.. i talked to the manager he said  they were called  smart shoppers and that i was only a one time fee. So i gave them my debit card number. After i gave it to him. He said that he was gonna transfer me to another call were there would be questions asked ect. And they told me that all the fees that would say woulnt be for me because they were only for the members of smart shoopers. And told me to answer all questions with "ok " because if i would say yes or  another word the line would be desconected and i wouldnt get my confimation #. So i did everything as told. After i hung up i looked up for the smart shoopers reviews and find out all of it was a scam. So thank God i went to my bank and got my card deactivated so now they cant charge me anything. EVERYONE BE CAREFUL PLEASE BECAUSE THERE SCAMERS!!!

Don't gave them card numbers in any condition. They might say that they already had your card numbers in their system but please don't trust them.

Got call claming the gift card thing, and found out it was a scam,but not after i had given my info, going to close account now. Bunch o rip offs

My wife got a post card stating that my wife was approved for a $100.00 gift card. She called the number and they asked for the authorization number at the bottom of the card. She gave it to them then they said there would be a $6 and some odd cents charges to process it.She did this quickly while I went on the internet and looked up Smart Shoppers which is who the man said he was calling from. He had an oriental accent.When I began talking he wanted me to stop talking stating the call was to my wife. I advised my wife to ask for his his website and address but he kept talking and became more aggressive telling my wife not to listen to me. I got made and demanded to talk to his supervisor. Then I confronted him stating I knew he was scamming us and my wife asked him to reverse the charge and he would not stating now that he had her card and three digit number he could charge us $69 if he wanted. I told him we were reporting him and he hung up. My wife called our credit card company right away and cancelled the card requesting a new one with new numbers. There was no charge made fortunately.

I just got a cal from a 802 number saying ill get a 50 dollar walmart card and 50% off eithe groceries, eating out or traveling ..I was happy til they kept trying to get my credit card number ..dnt give it to no one u signed surveys or if thy say u won something from bein online its a total scam. I was on craigslist while I seen it and craigslist has like the most scams

Hi my name is Casandra D. Townsend I got a call from a telemarketer that would get an gift card and can use it anywhere they take the gift card and I was charged $4.95 and I called and cancelled it and then later on Nov 26,2012 I was billed $29.95 and I called and cancelled it and spoke to Darrnell Jones and he advised me that I would the credit back and I haven't received anything yet,my member number is 656801286 and he gave me confimation number of 02768.

Got two calls today claiming I was selected for a 100USD WalMart gift card, and then was asked for a credit card number to process the shipping fees. I was told it was NOT a subscription or contract to accept the gift card. I asked for their company's information and was told the script about the gift card again. After asking a second and third time, I was told they were not authorized to release their location. Finally I was told they worked for Smart Shoppers. I promptly asked where the business was located and was told Phoenix, AZ, but retorted that Smart Shoppers is located in Louisville, KY. I was then given the name UASB Select, which appears to be some small business dealing with dental insurance. After calling the contact number on the UASB website, I was told the office hours were till 6PM EASTERN, not making sense for a company in Phoenix. The first call, I checked the number (which has a local area code) and found it was serviced by Cricket Wireless.

After demanding more information and being denied by the very pushy operator, I asked if the call was being recorded so I could speak with his manager. I was told the call WAS being recorded. I told him that they were dialing a Missouri number and we're a two party consent state, that his call was clearly fraudulent and threatened with the FTC and FBI. He anxiously said he would get the manager on the line and hung up the phone immediately.

So yes, clearly a scam. Never give people your credit card. Never.

I WAS CALLED FROM THIS NUMBER IN DEC 2011. THEY SAID I WOULD RECEIVE A 500.00 WALMART CARD AND ALL I HAD TO DO WAS GIVE THEM MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION..IM SO PISSED RIGHT NOW THEY ARE CHARGING ME TWICE FROM A UNITED ASSOCIATES COMPANY AND I NEVER RECEIVED ANYTHING..IM CLOSING MY ACCOUNT SO THEY CANT CHARGED ME ANYMORE. SCAM SCAM SCAM !!!!! gave them my card number but i recorded the call on my cell phone tried to charge my account $295.96 after they said i wouldnt have to pay for anything!!! DO NOT ANSWER!! they will call until you change your number even if you put yourself on the dont call list!

I got a call from the same 302-394-6964 number and he said the same that I had won a $100.00 Wal-Mart gift card but they needed $2.95 for them to send it and that paid for processing and activation. He also gave me the 877-318-0975 number to call but said that I should call AFTER I gave him my credit card number if I still had concerns. He was also very pushy that I give him my card number first. He also said he was working for Smart Shopper out of Phoenix AZ.

I got a call from this number that I won a free 100.00 gift card from Wal-Mart but they needed my credit card information in order to ship the card out. The number on the caller ID is from Delware the number is 302-394-6964. The customer service guy Adam claimed he was calling from Arizona. I hung up on him...I think it is a scam!
