Good grief, Caller said this call may be monitored or recorded; right then I knew they were a debt collector. Told the person calling they did not have my permission to record. Placed call on hold to answer another call. They hung up while I was on the other call. Before the call went on hold, they asked for a person that is not here.
Due to the line "this call may be monitored or recorded", I surmised it is not legitimate. You would think they would grow tired of calling.

Getting many calls a day hangs up after a few rings. Talked to someone 1 time he was looking for someone I don't know

I get calls from this number and don't answer anymore. I tried to answer once but they use my minutes and I just get automated voice. I hate them

I got this message after my credit history was ran for some of my purchase, if you have your phone number protected proabably you might get this call with different name. Whatever it is a scam, these people might hurt either finanacially or any means they would want to.

This is a debt collection agency. I know one of the companies they collect for is AT&T. Here's the problem. I spoke with someone from their company and they informed me of who they were collecting for but I have never had the AT&T account they are claiming to be collecting on. All my phones are working!!. Not sure if the problem is them or AT&T but they are a collection agency and should be able to give you all the info regarding the claim to verify.

I can tell you what bills I owe. I know that I do not owe any debt and this vanru credit corporation has called several times. The first couple of calls they did not leave a message now they leave a message that sounds like it could be prerecorded.. The only name they give is my first name.

As Jim, I got the same message. The person introduced herself as a debt collector at VanRu Credit Corporation and asked me to call her at 1-877-321-7901. She left many messages in my answering machine. I don't know what's going on. Is it a scam? Please advise. Thanks.

Eda Torrez called at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 25. "This is VanRu Credit Corporation calling for Jim (and then mispronounced my last name). This is not a solicitation, we are a collection agency".
I called the 1-877 number at 7 p.m. and was put on hold. I called this morning (Friday, Sept 26 at 8:30 am and the message said that the offices were closed and to call back whe the office was open at 8 a.m.
I looked on line and there is a VanRu credit corporation that looks legit, but with a different number.
Who are these people?
