Whanted me to verify date of birth and s.s# but would not say why

It is sad that our country has fallen victim to such ignorance and harassment. These idiots are calling a company and hanging up. I pray they are sued!!!!!!!

Got a call. I didn't answer.

I just received a voicemail message today from "Jenny" too at my work #.  I immediately googled this phone number 877-336-6577 before I called because it felt fishy.  She didn't leave her company name or reason for her call.  Thank you for your posts!  I will not call her back.  I have no outstanding debts.

These people called from 877-336-6577 an provided no information and didn't know who they wanted. They just wanted money and never told me why!

I do not believe that they are a legitimate company.  They lied about where they obtained our number from.  "Jenny" said that there was a "complaint" file against our corporate secretary.  If so, the complaint would be against our business, not the secretary.  When I returned the phone call they said the company was "Power Mount".  Apparently, the person answering the phone mispronounced the name.  Thanks to the reverse lookup now I know the truth.  Even if they were a legitimate collection agency they are not permitted to call the person's place of business.  I know the individual they were calling for and she does not owe any past due debt.  I think they are looking for social security numbers for other purposes.  Just my humble opinion.

No it's not that creditors give you information on someone to try to collect a debt, it's that scavenger companies like yours sell info to each other to try to make a profit by collecting what you can from a debt that an original creditor has written off. GET REAL

I received a call from them today saying that you own xyz company x amount of dollars and you are refusing to pay correct? And I was like and who are you calling for? Then she said oh? can I speak to so and so. I then told her that she had the wrong number, and she proceeded to ask me if I still lived at such and such address. I told her again she has the wrongl number. She continued to talk over me and I then hung up on her. She called back and I didn't answer. Then she called from another number and I answered. She tried to disguise her voice and asked for me this time. I told her to send me what she had in writing, because I didn't trust talking to her. Two hours later my mother calls me and says she just talked to a lady about a job that I applied for, and that I used her as a reference. And I thought,no I didn't. So she said the lady told her to tell me to call her, if she doesn't call me first. And when I googled the 877 number. Well you know the rest. These people are ridiculous and go through low's to get a little bit of information. I will have her job and her supervisor's if I DON'T GET A FORMAL APOLOGY AND ONE AS WELL TO MY MOTHER. My best friend is a lawyer and she is already on these FRAUDS.

The sad thing is that the companyt she is talking about, after I googled it, doesn't even exist they closed down in 1989 I wasn't even in middle school yet, you idiots. And she gives my mom the same contact information that she gave me.

i got a phone call today and the lady got all s****y with me, she was talking to me like i was a piece of garbage... i think her name was bobbie... x26... thats a great way to try and get people to pay money... what a bi***... i didnt think they could threaten you but i guess they can... hopefully operations manager get a chance to read this... i tried to work with her and she just gave me an attitude... so whatever i am going to my lawyer now... bi***...

Eventhough, your post is a bit old, you have definately done away with all of your so called "respect and dignity".  I just spoke with you a few weeks ago and you were the worst one! I also used to work for this company. I quit because I didn't feel right about the company. When I started there was no background check and anything like that done. I never filled out any paperwork (w4 for instance) so it is as though I never worked there. It is crazy that I just happened upon this page while job searching.... Wow really makes me rethink a lot of the things that went on there...

I have been receiving multiple phone calls from several different representatives at Paramount Recovery Services @ 1-877-336-6577 for the past 1+ week. All calls have been left on my non-private, work voicemail. Each day last week, Feb 1-5, I received at least 1 call/day and on Friday, February 5, 2010, I received 2 calls, only 1 hour apart. The most recent call, Today, Monday, February 8, 2010 was received at 7:39am CST. **NOTE: This is before LEGAL Collection call hours! I have filed a report with the BBB and FTC for unlawful collection practices (harrassment of calling multiple times in 1 day, calling outside of lawful collection times) and I recommend to anyone else experiencing this to do the same.

Request written verification of all debts including amount, how that amount is calculated, date of last activity (statute of limitations), collectors license number (and check they are licensed to collect in your state), the original creditor and proof that you actually opened the account.

My name is Eric Dodge I am the new Operations Manager here at PRSI (Paramount Recovery Services Inc.). Going through this and other messege boards was one of my first acts. As in all business when new management comes in all employees are on thier best behavior. So in order to find what was really going on I needed to get into these rooms and take note. Each morning we preach that "working in the best interest of the company" (i.e. treating consumers and others with respect and dignity) will be the only way things are done at PRSI. Everything we do is done legally, morally and ethically. We now have a zero tolerence policy. If a consumer or any other person is spoken to without our core values in mind corrective action will occur and usually result in termination.
I can also assure you we are not a Scam. If we are calling there is a reason. A creditor has essentially stated you have borrowed money in some way shape or form and they have yet to be paid. Now what can happen is an account is opened in your name without your knowledge (FRAUD). We have a procedure to handle that. We apologize for any inconvenience! Again I can assure you it was not us that opened the account, we are calling because a creditor has given us your information and stated you owe them.

I just received a voicemail from these people today here at the office.  All the voicemail said was that I needed to give Tony Simpson a call at her office at 1-877-336-6577 x25.  I am glad to see that it is another possible scam afoot.

These people are a debt collection agency.  They are called Paramount Recovery Systems and I received a call from them on 8/24/2009 from a Chris Tussey from 877-336-6577 X 22.  He left a message on my voice mail at work.

I am interested in this. I just received a call from this agency. I haven't called them back yet because I was trying to find some info out on the company as I never received anything from them in the mail and their message did not reference anything. Does anyone have any more info?

Just received a call from adam 877 336 6577 x25.  Do not know these people and have not received anything in the mail.  I know my debts and this isn't one of them.  Read the posts and I greatly appreciate peoples voices forwarning any fraudulant activities.

Are these fraudulant charges?  Maybe charges that have already been paid and illegally bought and are trying to collect payment again?  I'm not completely sure what to think.

I have had a similiar experience with this company and another company.

This number is from Paramount Recovery Services, Inc. They are debt collectors. They hire people from everywhere even from your local area. I got a call from someone in my area because my caller ID showed a local number but the voicemail they left directed me to call the (877) number. I never called back. Know your consumer rights to debt collectors. You can go to www.ftc.gov and read up on your rights and what you can do.

This company left a message regarding a bill that my father never had and, they asked my father to confirm his social security number. I called back to ask for some more information about this company. The person I spoke to told me they do not give out their license number.  I also asked for more information regarding the deliquent account, he told me they have been sending statements to my father's address.  Their records shows the right address and the right phone number, but we have not receive any statement from them.  They only gave me the name of the company and when the account was opened.  At the end of the conversation, he told me they have confirmed my father's social security number and that he is at some garden store.

Is this common with recovery agencies?
