Phone rings, I pick up, no voice, no message. Two calls in the last hour.

It's a collection agency called Global International.  
They have a website for consumers that are getting called:

Several calls over the last few days no message

I received several calls for somebody else from this number. When I called back, I found out
that it was a collection agency called Global Credit & Collection. I found there website
( http://www.globalcollection.net/Consumers.aspx ) and contacted their main number. They
told me that they would remove my phone number from their files, and they did.

Called my cell phone...a message said to hold on for a call...a few seconds later could hear lots of noise in background but no one said anything...then they hung up

Just received 2 calls from this # back to back.   First call never connected me to anyone so I hung up.  Second call had an automated voice say "Please hold while we connect you to the caller".   I waited and waited, then it said "We are sorry we cannot connect you at this time" so I hung up.   So confused.

Thank you!!!  This is very very good to know... My husband and I get calls from these people all hours of the day and letters every other day.  Know that I know Capital One does their own collections I can go after these lowlife scums at Global!  We've told them multiple times that we are working arrangements out with Capital One and we refuse to talk to them.  They of course threaten to have me arrested which I know is a blatent lie and one which can get them in deep trouble.  Enough already.. Again, thank you for this very valuable information!!!

I called Capital One to ask them about Global Debt Collection. The fraud department at Capital One said all of their collections are done in house. They do not use an outside debt collection. They advised me that this is a scam. and not to engage them. I gave them all the information I had about the name, address and telephone # of Global Debt Collection so they could contact them.

These people never give up.  Call twice daily for the last 3 months.

They jsut called and without specifying anything, asked me to confirm my date of birth. As if I'm stupid and going to give someone I don't know, didn't call, who is vague my personal information. HA!

some dork called me from this number.  when i asked his name he gave a garbled (i presume intentionally garbled) response.  Then he got all pushy and aggressive for me to give him my name.  I told him identify himself  and his company *clearly* or he is liable to me under FTC regulations.  he hung up immediately.  does anyone know the name and address of this company?  I intend to bill them for this call.

This is for Global Debt Collections.  I talked to the gentleman on the phone and he said he was with Global and dealt with personal matters.  He was asking for an Alexander Martinez.  This person had my personal and business cell numbers.  It's best to call this person back, but don't give your name or number.  They'll have your number via caller ID.

Calls every day even after hours.

The same thing happened to me. When he said he was calling on behalf of the American Heart Association I told him I've been cutting my own heart out over the last few months and if he wanted I will donate it to this charity because I am done having one.

They just keep calling, when you pick up no one is there. One time I got a live person, he said it was the
American Heart Assoc. I asked him to take my name off his list, he said he would process it immediately, 2 minutes later, they called back, no one there. I am so frustrated, they just call and call.

Nope, he wrote your name down so he can scam you later.

When will people learn to (a) never call scammers back and (b) never NEVER confirm ANYTHING.

Just received a call from this number and i called back..  (not the first time i have called this number back) A man who was very nice asked me to confirm the my phone number.. (he told me , i confirmed)  he asked if someone who wasn't me was there.. i told him no.. he asked my name .. and he took my number off the list. (supposedly)

Non stop calling at all hours of the day/night!!! I answer a recorded msg plays, no voicemail left either. No idea what or who they are...

This Toll Free number (877-340-4625) call us every day twice, five minutes apart. Sometimes in the early morning, at times mid-afternoon, at times in the evening. I called the number back, followed the menu ("press zero"), got a live person and asked them to take our name off their calling list. She politely said "Okay." Five minutes after hanging the phone up the same Toll Free number called back. }:{|}

i keep getting call from this number and i don't know who they is i call back but no answer what can i do to stop this calling me

A woman left a message saying her name was mike and she had an important message for this number.  Clearly reading from a script.
