I just got a call from 1-877-347-6340 who said they were from "Local Contact Service" about our free listing.  I just said they were not available and hung up.  She did speak with limited english.

So I guess after reading all the comments...I do not think I'll call them back either with my next statement of account.
And yeah...they hardly speak english...very fishy.

I got the calls from Tangerine and now I am getting them from "Access payment". Same deal, same number, same annoying people that do not take NO for an answer. Very very tiresome.
How can we get this to stop? Anyone??

Card interest rates depend on your credit rating and the greed of your card issuer, *NOT* on improved security on "new chip cards." Even if "new chip cards" reduced $losses, the issuer would simply pocket the added profit instead of lowering your rate. This is a version of the advance-fee-for-something scam where something is a grant, loan, lottery winnings, interest rate reduction, gift card, doggie, cruise, vacation, free gas, etc., and the advance-fee is for tax, shipping, registration, secure handling, service, etc. They may send you a fake check, may want your credit/debit card or bank account number,  or tell you to wire cash via Western Union, Moneygram, etc. They can put recurrent monthly charges or a 1-time charge on your card or bank account, and sell account info to other criminals and you'll have to replace accounts altogether. Wired-cash is irretrievable - once it's picked up at the other end, it's untraceable and gone. I just received a call from them too. I don't speak a lot of english but she seems to ask me to take a look on my november bill to see if I received a discount because of the new chip cards.  She asked me to verify and call her back. I didn't verify yet because it is complicated for me but I don't think I will ! As I see here, it is a asian company calling in a little place like Chicoutimi in quebec... I think it is not trustable.

They called saying they can lower my merchant Visa/MC rates because of the new chip cards

THese people do not know the meaning of the word NO! DO NOT CALL HERE ANYMORE!

They are calling under Tangerine Merchant about lowering my credit card rates which I already told them a hundred time that I already have the best rates and not to call me again. But they do. I need ot report them!

Just got a call from 877-347-6340, some wacky lady with limited english and said her company is called Local Business Services. Do they actually make enough money from these scams to even pay for the telephone services?

Telemarketers from the Philippines, spoofing numbers as "000-000-0000".

So..what company this number..1877 347 6340.... somebody know about this number
