Same as Chris above except it was a $9.75 charge. I am calling my charge card to get reversed.
Chris 2011-06-06 21:04:20 Unknown
Charge today for 9.75 on my account from homebase and this #. Tried calling and picked up "while we call your number" and then a series of beeps and a msg stating "your call could not be completed" Going to have my bank research. This is definitely a scam because I made no purchases in that amount, I keep all my receipts.

They're still at it! A charge dated 1-11-2008 for $9.75 on our card. Bank says to fill-out the dispute form and they will investigate. I have no doubt we will get the money back but this is amazing...somebody is losing a TON of money to this scam - and the authorities obviously aren't shutting the operation down. Who says crime doesn't pay?

samething i am sooo mad
we should do something

Same here, $9.70 charged to my bank account. I disputed the charge, and got my money back. I wonder how homebase has gotten a hold of many account/credit card #'s?
Jim 2007-12-05 22:49:02 Unknown
Same thing, charged $9.70 to my company credit card.
My office phone said the number could not be reached. My cell phone got an answer, but it was a strange tone that never "lead" anywhere.
A quick call to my credit card company got the charge removed.

I also just noticed this charge on my account. I called the number and the guy tell me this business is called homebasedweb.com.
He then proceeds to tell me that they will refund my money that it was a mistake or something.
I find that hard to believe so I informed him I would dispute the charge as fraud with my bank.
The amount was $9.70.
Im wondering how many people dont dispute this and this company just keeps stealing money.

I use a credit union, and have the exact same problem that everyone has listed. Phone number according to the bank is (877)238-8349. 100% scam.
Homebase charged 9.70 to my account, CU just asked me to destroy the card, and is issuing a new one.
sara 2007-11-28 16:25:20 Unknown
I had just bought from Best Buy right before this happened but on a different card! See details on 877-238-8349.
TED 2007-11-26 20:39:22 Unknown
Just wonding, how many people here are at credit unions?? I got one too. Same discription as everything listed above but has a different call number. This is crap!!!
Ital 2007-11-26 15:55:06 Unknown
Same here, just checked one of my credit card accounts online and was charged $9.70 by HOMEBASE. Never purchased anything from them and the card they charged has been sitting unused in my safety deposit box for eons. Gotta have to take the time now with the CC company to have the charge reversed. This sucks!
Mark 2007-11-26 05:58:00 Unknown
I've also just had a $9.75 charge appear in my bank account from these HOMEBASE people, but this time the number listed is 877-238-8349. My bank's call center is closed at this time of night (grrrr) so I'll take it with them in the morning.
Thanks for posting in this thread guys.

Same thing, noticed a $9.75 charge on my C.C. statement. Called MC up and they said it was for an electronic purchase. Called the number provided and the recording said all lines are busy and disconnected. Google search led me here and now my account is closed,
John 2007-11-08 15:58:39 Unknown
Same thing, I got charged $9.75. When I called HomeBase they said all line were busy and cut me off...

Gary 2007-11-02 02:13:13 Unknown
Same as the rest. Bank is making fill out a frodulent changer form before they will do anything. Who knows when I will get my money back. If I every find out how is behind this, they will have hell to pay.
Exc 2007-10-31 19:45:36 Unknown
Same Thing, They said I would get a credit of 9.65. Has Anyone bought anything from Best Buy Online recently? That was charged the same day as this HOMEBASE, considering "electronics purchase" it may be an online partner to BestBuy. I've been charged in a handoff like this before.
David 2007-10-30 21:54:49 Unknown
I got through at this phone number and have got the amount back. Thanks God!
Jen 2007-10-30 18:39:42 Unknown
I have a charge for $9.70, too, from Homebase. I work at the bank, and even I cannot get any more info than the company name and this bogus phone number. We're going to cancel our debit card and order a new one to be safe.
Ken Merrick 2007-10-27 01:35:12 Unknown
Same here, bank has no idea what or where it came from but i will see about pressing charges, if we find out who it is. we haven't bought anything online from anywhere in california.
Sunil Saxena 2007-10-25 21:49:42 Unknown
There was a charge on my credit card from a place called HOMEBASE out of California. Credit Card company said it was an "electronics purchase", no other info. The credit card bank had no reference number and no other information was supplied regarding the charge on my account. They only had this phone number as a contact. When I called it, a recording came up saying "While we dial your phone number" and then the line went dead. This smells like a scam. I will probably cancel my account.
fsuguy 2007-10-25 12:35:27 Unknown
The same thing has happened to me. I don't know how these people got my phone number. Has anyone been able to resolve this?
Tom 2007-10-24 23:02:21 Unknown

lola 2007-10-20 06:26:43 Unknown
