They just called me today looking for a friend of my daughter's won't take there calls any more.

These people have been calling me for months saying that they are going to have me arrested. I am disabled and don't do pay day loans. I have already told them they are a scam, but they still call they yelled at my underage son on the phone one day. They told him that his mom was a theif and I was going to be arrested and that he was going to be taken away from me.  I will tell them next time they call about the attorney general.

I've gotten the same stuff that everyone else is telling only I was stupid enough to give my account info. That was two days ago and nothings gone through. Has anyone else given them there account info?

These people called my land line every day for about three months.  Everytime I called them back and asked what it was that they wanted.  When I gave them my number, since I had no account or case number, they asked me if I was Steven Burgers(sp?) to which I replied.  My land line is actually generated through ClearWire and has no actual record of my physical address or my real name.  I assure you that I am not Steven Burger.  They didn't even have the right state.  I told them that they were calling the wrong number and they no less than ten times told me they would remove my number from their calling list.  The calls continued.  It is startiing to feel as if they are persistent on harassing me simply because they are bored and that their is some difficulty in finding out who exactly they are who they represent.  They will not tell you.  Global Asset is their caller ID.  The man I spoke with most recently sounded like a street thug, even stating that he would rather "come and show me what he could do to me instead of just telling me," an obvious threat of physical violence.  And yes, this moron and his office monkeeys kept insinuating that they were or that they worked for attorneys.  Trust me, this could not be further from the truth.  Once you get them off script they sound like a bunch of ghetto hoodlums.  Goldberg, Keller and Brown is the law office they like to mention. I have reported the phone number, Global Asset and Goldberg, Keller and Brown to the New York State Attorney Generals Office.  If enough other people do the same, perhaps we could put these scam artist out of work back to where they belong and are probably most comfortable...prison.

Sounds like the same old scam, different number...but, even if you do owe someone, don't admit it over the phone to anyone.

Threading me over a bill,  wants my credit card and bank information.

I just got off the phone with Ms. Sommers and she claims to be an attorney. She's demanding money and wants my debit information regarding a payday loan from several years ago.  I told her that I am currently unemployed and that I do not have any money to pay them right now.  She didn't want to listen to what I had to say and urged me to be home today to receive court documentation and that anything I needed to say I would have to say it to the judge.  This woman sounds very shady and unfortunately tries to intimidate people by using any tactic they can to get money.  I'll definitely file a complaint against them.

I JUST GOT A CALL FROM THESE IDIOTS YESTERDAY ON A PRE-PAID DIRECT DEPOSIT CARD I HAD OVER A YEAR AGO SAYING I OWED 589.00 AND THEY WERE ISSUING 2 FELONY WARRANTS IF I DID NOT CALL WITHIN THE HOUR, THEY CALLD MY EX HUSBAND AND TOLD HIM ALL OF THIS SO I CALL AND THE ATTORNEY SUMMERS THAT SOUNDS REAL PROFESSIONAL TOLD ME I NEED A DEBIT CARD TO 'STOP' THE PROCEDURES IN THE COMPANY ISSUING THE FELONY WARRANTS, CALLD ALL THE COURTS AND AGENCYS THAT WOULD DELIVER COURT DOCS, NOTHING THEY HAD NOTHING.  SO I CALLED THE 877 NUMBER TO GOLDBURG, WHATEVER AND BROWN THIS MORNING AND THE GUY THAT ANSWERED SAID IT SO FAST I DIDNT CATCH IT SO I ASKED HIM TO REPEAT THE COMPANY NAME AND HE SAYS OPEN YOUR FU*#CKIN EARS AND YOU CAN HEAR WHAT I SAY. I received a call from these same people about a debt I owed, I asked them for documentation for what I owed but they have never been able to send me proof. I unfortunately have paid them some money and they are to take out some more at the end of this month. They say they are from a company called Viking holding group. The gentleman that called me was named David Mallory. I had a feeling it was a scam but you never know when they start throwing around the law and jail thing. I am hoping that I can move some money around that they won't get it from me. I have also filed charges with FTC and the local police.

That is correct they need to send you documentation of what is owed but in reality all this co. is is a SCAM!!

What they are doing is very illegal. I suggest you file a complaint with the FTC; which you can do online. And then contact your state's Attorney General and New York's attorney general. Save any and all messages from them as proof that they are claiming to be people that they are not.

I received the same exact call just now. They have also called my ex-husband and left my ssn# on his voicemail. I have called my city and county to see if there is a warrant and there is not. They have also showed up at my parents house trying to serve papers that they would not give to my parents. This was back in Feb 2011. I have lived at the same address for 2 yrs and the same job for 2 yrs and no one came to my door or work. Not sure what this is about..they say its a payday loan from 2008 but i did not have any in 2008 that were unpaid. How do I get them to stop harrassing me, my parents, and other people who should not be left my SSN# or personal information. Isnt this against the law??

I have been harrassed by these people on and off for 2 years. They are now using a 3rd attorney's name. They are actually a collection agency that pays Attorney's to use their name. I believe the name of the agency is Vicking Recovery Services. I have filed 2 complaints with the FTC against them. They recently spoke with my husband giving him all kinds of lies. They told him I was wanted for writing bad checks and that I have a felony charge against me; which I do not. These people will try and say what ever it takes to get money. Do NOT give them any credit card or debt card information!!! The law states they have 5 days to send you verification of the debt and you have 30 days to dispute. They will never send you this information. There are documented cases where they have taken money from people and have not applied it to any debt. There are numberous lawsuits pending against this agency for their illegal practices. I paid off all my debt  in 2008 so I know that I do not owe any one any money! They buy old debt from PayDay Loan places and they buy peoples information that do not owe any money just to try and get money.

I promise you nothing will happen.  Do not live in fear that is what they want.  This is a scam what they are doing is completly against the law.  Guess what you actually do not owe any money what so ever so you are not in the wrong first off.  Second if you did owe the money their is no way they go to these lengths to collect  a small amount of money. It would cost them more to serve papers and take you to court than they would collect.  Remember they are lying you have the truth on your side.  Good luck and dont be affraid to yell at them to stop harrasing you and the words that will stop them dead in their tracks is "I have Spoken to the Attourney Generals office and they have informed me they are looking into YOUR ILLEGAL COLLECTING PRACTICES"  I promise they will flip out and they will stop harrasing you.

I got a message from this number on Friday stating that I was to be home between 11 am and 5 pm for getting served a legal document. Said to call this number with case number and discuss the situation. I never received a direct call from them; just a so called process server stating that he would be serving me on Monday, which is tomorrow. Do I stay and wait or do I leave the house?

Received a call from this office. Hard to understand. Said they had legal paperwork for me and that I was supposed to call them back and give them the case number they left. Also something about going to superior court.

Called them back from a different phone and asked them what office this was. They would not tell me and stated I was playing games and hung up on me.

This company is calling my sons dad grandmother telling her they are going to put a warrant out for my arrest. So I call to speak to Mrs.Summers and give her my docit number. She was calling for a payday loan an I owed 800 but she was willing to settle for 577. She asked for a debit card and I told her I wouldn't be able to pay til the 31st. She said ok. I called back today and told them my funds did not come through as I assumed and I can pay 100 today an the rest at a later time. She said she couldn't do that and that if I couldn't pay they would place judgement against me. I said ok so what happens then. She said she was not sure. I then said ok well I relocated so I am not in the same state anymore so will the judgement get sent to my current state. She said oh yea they will find you. HUH??? What should I do??? I want to pay my debt but not with them lying to me. This is very frustrating because one, they are putting people in my business and two they shouldn't scare people like that, thinking they going to jail.

I just got a call from these people for my son, who does not live with me and has never lived at this address.  They said they were going to be at his house or work tommorrow between 11:00 and 5:00 and needed to be available to sign papers.  I don't know how they got the number because it is not under my name?  I tried to call them back to tell them to take my phone number off their list, but all I get is a message.

they did the same thing to me today called my mama house phone saying i took a loan out on the computer an they was sending the police to my house to serve me the papers so i calld them an they told me i had to make a payment by cc i told them i dont give my number out over the phone

I've just got a second call from 877-397-5093. The first call 'Rebecca' called and said I had 24 hours to respond or it would go to the courts since I had not responded to the previous summons. Bogus. I called and said they most certainly have the wrong person. She asked if my birthday was 1981 and I replied no but unfortunatly I supplied them with my real birthday. I was thinking they were legit. She said she would take me off the list.

The call today was from 'Jessica Daniels' and said I had 24 hours to respond with my filing # or they would show up at my work or home from 11-5 and to please have 2 forms of ID ready. Said my name and SS # match their records.

All this is bogus as I owe no one or have not been in trouble. I am not calling them back. I bet the same girl uses a different name for each person.

These people are LYING to you.
You CANNOT be arrested for a debt, it is CIVIL, not CRIMINAL.
They have violated the FDCPA, go to FTC.gov and read about the FDCPA.
