This man supposedly named Austin White keeps calling my boss & leaving messages that im gonna be arrested for internet fraud for not paying money to US CASH LOANS. The messages were passed on to me, and I called. They told me I had to get a Moneypack from Wal-Mart & call them with the code on the back. I fell for it as I did have an outstanding loan with a company(couldnt remember the name) & thought it was legitimate. I found out it was a scam, and stopped sending money. Now they keep harrassing me. I called with an off the wall name ( Lucian Jackson) and was told he was on break! LMAO!! I told him I was on the phone with the police and they traced the call, & he was caught! he said,"OH F***!!", & HUNG UP!

These scammers are stooping to a whole new level.
They hacked my companies website via email and left threatening emails
To come to my job and home .
They were sent by a mr.mark johnson claiming to be a district attny.
I know people who were certified debt collectors and it is state and federal law
Debt collection companies 1.  Must send a letter of validation of debt..2. If you being
Sued it will come from  a actul court house and also will be sent certified mail
To be signed by the person being sued.
The fbi needs to stop these scammers.

I had the same numbers call me. Here's the skinny. One, if they leave you a voicemail, save it. Contact your local police and or federal law department and report it, then contact the credit bureaus about identity theft. Two, never enter your social or bank info online with a lending company. Use legitimate local branches. Three, when you do make contact, play hardball. They don't want to be caught, they don't want it to go past you. "if you have a problem, make a move. I have proof that I never received/have paid off a loan and contract, and will counter sue you for deflimation of character, and federal level harrassment considering you are crossing state lines representing a state run organization. Furthermore, I need verification. What is your name and badge number. I also need to speak with your superior officer regarding the fact that no government affiliated beach is going to handle direct monetary transfers over the phone because it is handled by another department." don't let them talk. They will hang up on you. Call them back and continue. Prove you are competent and not a pushover. They don't want to tangle with intelligent and bullheaded people. They will stop calling.

I got this call today as well. They are a joke. It sucks that they have our information. Technology is really hurting the middle class. I just ignore the call and let them get my voicemail.

While I'm upset that all of you have gotten this call, at least I know I'm not alone. I googled the phone number and that's how I found this page. I went to the FTC site and filed a complaint. I really hope these scammers do not call my employer.

I recieved  a call from a Peter Griffin today. Mr. Griffin (snicker) said that i defrauded a bank for 9000.00 and
The FBI was coming to arrest me at 3PM  I didn't immediately make a payment.  I knew immediately I was being scammed.  He called me the N  word twice and then proceeded to say he loves playing with crazy chicks.  Since I have caller ID I have since called them numerous times asking. Where the FBI is because I am standing outside waiting for them and it's getting cold.  I have reported them to the FTC and put a security lock on my bank account. I have Lifelock and trust them to protect me.

Called our place of business.  Same as everyone listed above.  Said his name was Martin.  Asked me to wait to get a supervisor.  Said no need that whatever he had to say didn't concern me or our business.  Same song -- threatened authorities coming to place of business or home.  I said, Come on and I'll have my authorities here as well.  I don't want to call it a Debt Collector because it is a scam!

If they were a real business they would not talk to you in a filthy manner.  They aren't going to arrest you.  Just ignore them.  They can't do anything to you they are over seas.  Just block their number.  As for any information they have you can get a free credit report to see if any one has used your information to take a loan out in your name.  You can go to https://www.annualcreditreport.com/ and see if anything is on there and you can go to each credit agency and dispute anything on there.  Don't worry everything is going to be fine.

Just ignore them.  They are not from this country, just a bunch of foreign terroist after your money.  They called me on my cell phone and at my job.  Telling me I'm in a lawsuit.  First of all if your being suide your going to have an official paper from the court in which the case will be handled from.  NO one will notify of a law suit over the phone.  Did you notice they didn't even write to you, they are trying not to get caught also they called me a few months ago with another phone number 310-742-4798.  It's the same people.  They don't tell what it is about and they try to terrorize you.  Just block their number, call your phone provider to do this.  And stay away from putting your information online.  That's how they got your number in the first place from website that collect and sell your information especially those that supposedly help you find a loan for bad credit.  ONLY borrow from trusted sites.

I recieved a call on my voice mail from 877-413-2476 just like the others with a lady sounding like she was from india or pakistan(very heavy accent). What I did here was" Call back with my Attorrney",  This sounds like a SCAM. If someone wanted a person to contact them VIA or with your Attorney they would do so in writing first with case #'s dates, their Att Names & ETC. The sound of it all is disturbing to say the least.

Has anyone has any luck with these a**holes.  I have filed a police report and have tried to give them the phone# and case number that the officer told me to tell them.  But they keep coming.  Calling my work and asking for the human resorces department.  The last time they called they wanted my lawyers name & number, I gave them the officers number and the number he told me to have them call.  I hope they try..ha ha.  Sad thing is my cousin is Sherriff of our county.

Any other suggestions?

I recieved a voicemail this morning. It was hard to understand the man on the other end of the phone, due to his THICK Indian accent. From what I could understand, either somebody was using my SSN, and they needed more info from me, or I was accused of using somebody else's SSN and they were representing me. I believe I heard somewhere he was a 'Federal Agent', but any chance of that was thrown out when he ended the call by saying 'God Bless'

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

ABC News released an investigative report on this scam in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

Received call from "Brad Nelson" who is of obvious Indian or Pakistani descent. Said he is from the "legal department" and did not state which one he represented. He stated this is "dire regarding legal allegations on my name and SSN" and something about my attorney. The number he left is 877-413-2476.  I have debt but it has been consolidated and settled. Not sure what this is all about.
