Got a voice mail msg from a "John McLain" (not sure of spelling of last name) of "BG & Associates" at this number.  Said he was from the "Processing Division" & that he wanted to give me a chance to give "a statement in your defense" regarding "pending charges of several transactions", & that if I did not respond within 3 days I was "forfeiting your rights".  He gave this 877 number, extension 305, to call him back & the last 4 Social Security numbers of the person he was calling about (not my last 4).

I tried calling the 877 number, but all I got was a recording that "the person at extension 101 is not available", and then a beep.  I could not get any menu to access extension 305 or John McLain.

I have received a few calls from this number as well as a 716 number. It's a scam and they can't do anything to you. Call the company they say you owe and you will see they will tell you, no such anything.
Ignore ignore ignore.
The above person stating something happened to them is working for the company trying to get you to pay. Tell them you will send the money directly to the company.
I also told Mr Lamarco, I still had an active account with said credit union so how am I getting arrested? Nun it's started stuttering!

So, are they legal.  I just received a call demanding to speak to me about proceedings. HELPP!!! Creditors are getting way out of hands

They got information from somewhere and were calling my grown children and their spouse's parents telling them that my wife had a bad check.  I called the company that they said she was in error with and that said they never send out their collections to BG Capital.

I reported them to the FTC WHEN THEY GOT A HOLD OF ME because the did the same thing 6 monts ago they kept on harassing for 300.00 dollars i called the people who i borrowed money from they dont do any deals with theses people

You're absolutely right...in some cases, you may have to just deal with it, especially if they do send documents in writing.  Better to call back and cover your tail end than to take a chance and have them try to take the "case" to court.  Also, be aware of the laws in your area, they may be different from the laws in New York where these people claim to be from.

ya, i thght they were a scam too. then my work got a wage garnishment and they are taking part of my check now. its BS! they left me a message saying they were calling about paperwork they received about me, so i assumed the same thing and blew it off. i tried calling them once my company got garnishment papers and then they wldnt talk to me and said i lost my change to take care of this. screw them. i would have paid if they were straight up with me on the machine. seriously thgh at least call them back. i worked for a collection agency too so i know my laws and what not, i didnt see this coming.

Called me on my home phone. Left message. Sd they were an ADR ( Alternative Dispute Resolution ) Center. Not calling Back !
