I contacted Marriot.  It appears that Innovative Marketing Solutions is a partner with Marriot.  Marriot's representative tells me that IMS markets timeshares on their behalf.  If Marriot is the reputable company I had thought it was,  it should reconsider what advertising methods it permits.  First, any advertising mail piece should clearly state what product or service is being advertised,  price range, and any other relevant terms.   Why should consumers waste their time calling an 877 number just to find out what product or service is being advertised?  Besides, if the advertisement seems shady, most of assume that any contract that would be offered would also be shady.  Marriot is letting its name take a beating on this advertising campaign.

Recieved post card claiming to be a "complimentary marriott getaway" 3 days 2 nights stay including dinner for two.   It claims to be giving two round trip airfares from the major airport nearest our home to any other major city in the continental US.  No company name is listed on the mail piece, but the return address is 76 West Water Street Harrisonburg VA 28801.   Postal markings are for permit number 75, Harrisonburg, VA.  I doubt that Marriot knows anything about this.

It is the same advertising method associated with a travel scam arising from Florida.  It would not suprise me if we were to find out this is the same scam.  This time, they don't even identify their company name.  

Do they really expect us to do business with someone that doesn't have the business ethics to identify themselves, and to clearly state what product or service is being offered?

I did not call. This number came to me via a postcard. Thanks to the internet, I am a believer of the statement, "If it sounds too good to be true, IT IS."

I got a letter today with the 877-449-0019 number telling me to call them within 7 days or another entry would have to be selected.
