They just called me and asked for my dog - they thought she was a person. I've never had a dog get phone calls before....

Got a call from Allied Interstate today, 06/01/2012. I could barely understand this man as he did not speak English very well and I have no idea who he was looking for.. He sounded as though he could have been from India. If you see this phone number on your caller I.D. don't waste your time answering the phone. The person I think that he was asking for did not reside at my home nor have I ever heard of them. I was told that my number would be taken out of their system. RIGHT, IN A PIGS EYE !

I received a call from this number claiming I had an old collection from Columbia House. Luckily my husband, said not to give them our credit card number. I thought I was so smart, but this east Indian man had me believing that maybe I had at one time had an unpaid account.

They called me, I answered, they hung up right away.
go to www.donotcall.gov to file a complaint and register on the don't call list.
IF after 31 days of being on the list COMPLAIN and get them fined.

I've been getting calls from this unknown # for a while now. No idea who it is or how they got my #. They just called me right now at 6am on the pacific coast.

I did use to have Columbia House when I was a teenager but that was 20 years ago. I've always paid my bills so no idea why they would send a bunch of crazed indians after me.

I may try to answer the phone one time just to get them to tell me who it is. Whoever it is calls at strange hours. This is my business phone # not owned by me so they are impeding my ability to work for my company. Due to the harassive times and natures of the calls I have been forced to turn my ringer off. As a result I may miss an important after hours technical call.

For all I know they are calling for someone at the company who had the phone # before me.

Stop calling me. I owe nothing to nobody...

I highly recommend everyone to file a complaint on the FTC website.  We have received two calls from this number and we have no debt, so there is no reason for them to call.  The website is:  https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

Kept getting this phone call in Alaska, on my cell, once everyday M-F  for the last two weeks. Asking to call the same Allied Interstae description as other posters here and the recording continued to say that is was needing info. for a debt collection and to use this ID# when I call back...551040261519.

I keep getting calls from this and several other 800 numbers, they are looking for a person we do not know. When I tell them they have the wrong number they do not believe me. I tell them we have had this number for almost 3 years but they insist it was just given as a correct number, I do not care it it was just given it is a wrong number. I am trying to figure out what I can do next? These calls for this man are getting quite annoying!

Repeated calls from 877-487-9946 with recorded messages. No phone number to call just a reference number.  I've tried to call back but hold for over 15 min. They have a reference number but cut me off when I enter it. Very frustrating to get these calls repeatedly each day.

Getting calls daily from this number and when i tell them to take me off their list they just hang up and call again.  They are asking for someone named humel when they call and i dont know anyone with that name and its not me...

This number called me with an automated recording on Sat and Sunday mornings at 5:30 am.
and they arent even in at that time to accept a return call.

I got about 13 calls/hang ups on my cell phone in the last 8 days.  This morning they called me at 530am and again hung up when I answered.   I called them back they said they are from a company called Allied or something on east coast, the person they were looking for was someone I have never heard of I told them they were calling the wrong number.  I asked to be removed from this call list and they said they would do but, when I asked for the supervisor they (of course) said he was busy and assured me I didn't need to speak with him.  I called right back and asked for the supervisor again and was able to speak to him.  He assured me no more calls to my phone....one can only hope.

they dont stop calling 3-5 calls a day.

got a call from this number. Could not understand the person talking, had a thick Indian accent. He asked if I lived at an old address. Then he said I had an out standing balance with Columbia house. Ugh its been 20 years or more since I remember Columbia house. He wanted my checking account number or credit card number. Told him I do not give that information over the phone. I asked him to give me his address. He said he was with allied interstate. He gave me a PO box when I asked for the state he said rugime. I said that state is not in the United states of America. he argued with me I told him to look at a map. He said its on the Atlantic coast. I started naming the states on the east coast and told him to pick one. He still insisted it was a state called rugime. I hung up on him. they are calling non stop everyday 4 to 5 times a day. I work nights and sleep during the day. THIS NEEDS TO STOP.

Same number calling at 11:46pm as in my previous post of 12-03.  This looks like it's going to be a common occurrence.  I'll just ignore it and will tell the rest of my family to do the same.

I had finally spoken with someone, they called my spouse several times on his cell. As well as mine and my home,I dont know what they were after but that I'm one the do not call list. Seems very FISHY.

Got a call on my cell this morning...man had a thick accent...asked for me and after I asked who was calling three times, and he only kept asking for someone, with no identifying who HE was (which he is required to do BY LAW), I hung up...NEVER talk to someone when you have no idea who they are...obviously a collector with a location off-shore...

yeah i contacted Columbia house and they sent an email back stating they had no rocord of me on file

Received a call from 1-877-487-9946 and they didn't leave a message so I called back. There was no ringing and a recording didn't even come on that was a red flag and the slience in the back ground at first, I was saying hello no answer and then this noise and the woman with a heavy accent asking me about an address and a bill from columbia house. I hung up and I sent an email to columbia house. The funny thing was I couldnt understand her and she didnt state the name of the company and if she did it wasnt clear enough because of her accent.

Got a call from this number 877-487-9946 at 12;15am on 12-03.  I said hello a few times, but no reply, just background noise....so  I just hung up.  After reading previous posts above, I am glad I did!

This company has been calln me since 11/16 its now 12/01 and I just got a call on my cell when I answered finally a Indian man answered he asked if I was who I was but I didn't kno who he was so when I asked what it was in regards to he kept tryna get my info so I just Hung up...

Called asking for my husband. I said he wasn't here, but offered to take a message. They asked if I was his wife. I said yes. The man told me his name, which I couldn't understand b/c he had such a thick accent. He said the call may be recorded and he needed to verify that he was speaking to the correct person and asked me to verify my address. I asked who was calling and he again gave his name and began pushing for my address. I interrupted and said I needed to know who he was with and he said in a very hateful way "it's a business!". Then I hung up.
