this number calls me atleast 5 times a day I am quite frankly tired of them calling me

I am a DirectV customer so I went online and checked my account.  I received a new debit card within the last month and I do have auto bill pay.  I called DirectV directly `@ 800-531-5000 and checked with them.  Sure enough, I needed to update my billing card info.   The lady I talked to was unaware of the 877-488-1814 number or DirectV calling people to update their info.
If you are a DirectV customer it would be worth your while to contact them and ask if there is a problem with your account. I would not give this information to the people at the number listed above.

They called around 2 p.m. PST on a Sunday.  Caller ID was just the #.  I answered because I had someone sleeping in the house and with a view to putting us on their "do not call" list.  No-one answered.
Left message "don't know what you are playing at but take us off your calling list".

This is NOT directv!!!! I called the REAL directv! This number does not exist in their directory!!!! This is a scam. Do not give your information. Do not engage in conversation. Report it to directv!

Get 3-4  calls a day.  Nobody there.
I called DIRECTV and they confirmed it was a "system error". customer service rep said they would put me on Do not Call List. I asked how long will that take to go into effect; answer "2.5 seconds".  Great I thought.  

1 hour later I get another call.

Now I follow up with an email request and the answer I get back is 7-10 days to take effect!

What a joke!

Why am I doing business with DIRECTV???

Signed up for DTV about 3 months ago. Have been getting calls from this number about 3 times a day. Finally saved it as DTV Scam, and don't answer it.

Calls every day 2X a day with no vocice

They are 11 of the 37 solicitor calls I have received in the last few days.  Two were twice in the same minute!  Ridiculous!

I started getting calls from this number right around the time DIRECTV tried to bill my card, which had been cancelled by the bank due to fraud. Since there's no actual name on Caller ID, just "800 Services," I didn't pick up. But the calls continued, three per day, even after I updated my credit card info online and paid the due bill, so I finally answered the call. Silence. Whoever or whatever was calling, they said nothing and hung up after thirty seconds or so. They are now blocked (I have Ooma; you can block as many callers as you need to) and I sent email to DIRECTV.

It's a scam claiming to be DirecTV.  They don't connect the call on purpose in the hopes you will call back and get fooled by the DirecTV greeting before connecting to an agent who will steal your money.  They will undoubtedly tell you there is some issue relating to your payment/card/bank info and then attempt to collect financial info.
 

i got the app pinger so i can text my friends that don't have the apple devices. i bought this iPod 2 weeks ago and someone is calling my iPod too. i sit there wondering wether i should answer it or not and every time i choose not to. they started calling yesterday and i don't know what to do but i can guaranteed you I'm 14 yrs old and i do not i repeat do not have a credit card. so, ill never answer it because i wouldn't feel safe knowing that I've answered it.

P.S. also the act that the oldest post is like in 2012 just makes me think if something has gone wrong with the caller/machine/i don't even know who or what calls but wouldn't they have fixed it by now. i don't know its just a thought

You can on the iPhone. Under contacts and blocked/restricted numbers. I've done it several times from my iphone.

number calls me and no one ever picks up.  Happens every day.

I receive a call from this number about once a day - if I answer there is never anyone who answers.  I never call back, so I am not sure who it is but it is getting annoying

i get this number and so does my husband.  were tired of you calling 3 to 5x a day. come on!  were not going to answer you anyway.  so stop calling

Guys, this is not legit.  Please don't give them your CC number.  The phone number does not match the DTV Customer Service number and when you call it back, you get a couple of voice prompts pretending to be DTV and then... "nothing".  It's a scam, a little more elaborate than most and with a clear insider/back door since it does seem to happen just after you update your CC number with DTV.
Pretty amazing it's been going on for several years and no one has even bothered to change the phone number.  please file complaints with the FCC.

It is Legit - Direct TV.  My Credit Card was changed due to the Crap at Target. I forgot to notify Direct TV of the new credit card number for my autopay. i usually get pissed at all of the BS calls i receive, but this one was actually legit...

Similar experience to others above: for some unknown reason, the credit card on my autopay for my DirecTV account got rejected when they put it through a couple weeks ago (the same card worked and has continued to work fine for everything else I use it for).  Their system generated a call that left a voicemail telling me there was a problem.  I logged onto my account and tried to update the credit card, but it was the right card already and everything looked fine, so I just logged off.

Then the calls started.  I'd estimate I got 8-10 calls over the last two weeks, before finally googling for the number and finding this page.  After reading the comments, I realized who the call was coming from.  I called their customer support, the rep re-ran the credit card, it worked fine, and she promises the calls will stop now.  I guess we'll see...

It's definitely DirectTV, calling to update billing info

I have not answered but have been receiving a call every day for over a week without any message being left. I am a DirecTV customer and I called 10days ago to update my billing information as my credit card had been lost and I had it replaced.
I paid my full balance at the time of the call, and checking online - my account not only shows current but the auto-billing is set up correctly to the new card number to be drafted next period. I have no idea what the call is in regards to but unless they leave a message, I am not answering.

They have been calling my cell at work.  That needs to stop

They said they were directtv and had to update my card.  They had the last 4 of my old card.  After giving them my card# but before date and csc I realized it might be a scam and said i'd call them back.  I guess it was a scam.  Have to cancel my card now :(  Why are these people not in jail?

Don't be a tool. These guys are calling  and we've never even had DirectTV. Never Even considered it.  So telling people to pay their bills so they'll stop calling is really a jack*** thing to say when you have zero idea what you're talking about!

Ok, I just filed a complaint with the FTC at https://esupport.fcc.gov/ccmsforms/form1088.action?form_type=1088D for Abandoned calls/War Dialing. I included a list of times/dates the calls happened on my two phone numbers.

This number just called me AGAIN. I finally logged into Google Voice and put this number as a spam caller. So at least they won't be getting through to that number again. GRR! Nobody was on the line! I'm going to report it to the FCC. This is ridiculous!

Call ID shows "Calif call". Did not answer. No recording left.

They just called my cell again. No message left. I might start calling that number 10 times per day just to harass them as well. I'm getting 1-2 calls per day which isn't that bad considering what I've read here about how many times it calls some people per day.

They just called our home number, I answered, nobody replied, I waited and then it hung up on me. UGH! This is really ticking me off.
