Got similar call from this number and also 1-877-494-8756. Left message for a J Hill (that is not me) saying that a they were making a decsion on my file today (5 pm central time) and that they wanted to work with me but I needed to call them back. It was a woman called Marcleva Townsend ext 1118. I called back and told her I was not J Hill and wanted to know how she got this #. She was really rude and told me she'd take my number off the list and then hung up on me. She would not tell me the name of the Company or what the call was regarding.

I got this a while back. My phone was turned off when they called. Asking me to call back by 5pm CST. Even I had enough common sense to know they were trying to scam me. But I'm only 13, so of course it couldn't be about my credit cards, since I lack them :)

My fiance told me that he received a call from this number today and Charles Doolittle tried to collect money over the phone from him.  My fiance requested this company send him information in an email.  We both read the email and it is so vague and it seemed so sketchy. So we checked it out, and of course, it's a scam.  I'm not sure how this Charles Doolittle guy found an old paid off credit card account information but he did provide the last four digits of an old credit card number but he could have scammed that too.  This guy was trying to collect on an old credit card that has been paid off for years and closed.  This is a scam and I'm glad my fiance didn't give this guy any personal information.

This "agency" called my mother demanding to speak with me on Monday. They refused to talk to her because she wasn't me but they told her I would be in serious trouble if I didn't call back by 5p.m today. I contacted my local police department and they said they would take care of it. But this is happening all over Seattle. Was even on the news.

I wonder if it would be fun for everyone just to call them back and tie up their phones. I'm sure they don't accept calls from blocked numbers.

Got a call from this number on my cell phone with a strange recording that tried to sound ominous and get me to call back. If it was truly important something meaningful to me, it wouldn't have been a recorded message, but a live person. So, it's certainly a scam or trying to sell something truly worthless.

I just a call from it 877-497-2280 about 11 am 7/30/2011. Annoying. I'm trying to sleep. I know the call isn't meant for me because I have no late payments right now.

That's my POINT exactly!! They call DON'T STATE for WHOM the message is for. I've been dealing with voice messages for a year now. Probably because I'm the "stupid one" who calls back hoping they have a "DELETE or DON'T CALL LIST" 40% of the time and waste my time trying to find out "WHO" they were calling for in the first place. Hey, David I'm with you. Think if I get bored some point during the day will make it my goal to put in a call on a daily basis to these USELESS Telemarketing Debt Collection Scammers!!!!

I ALSO RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER 877-497-2280 TWICE. UPON THE 3RD CALL I ANSWERED IT, IT WAS A VOICE RECORDING-"WE ARE IN POSSESSION OF AN INSTRUMENT REQUIRING YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. DON'T DELAY CONTACT CHARLES DOOLITTLE TO INQUIRE ABOUT THIS INSTRUMENT REQUIRING YOUR ATTENTION" click. My voice messaging machine previously didn't contain any messages. Which led me to believe they hang up because it's a recording and not silence "as if I'm listening". I call back ask for Charles Doolittle, some young male replied Hold please. He never put me on hold, I could hear background noise, he cleared his throat one time, what seemed to be about 5 minutes. He said "my name" I paused and said "No, he called me. The number he called was ---.---.----, im returning his call". He said "Yes, "my name" again gave me his first name. We're WACHOVIA ENFORCEMENT OFFICE and have a debt with your name on it. I said I have never had an account with WACHOVIA. He blurted out last 4 digits of a social security number and I said no it's not. "CLICK". He hung up on me. GO FIGURE!!!!

Yes, that is my name and I don't appreciate this miscreant using it. I work in the fraud division in Consumer Affairs in a state which I will not mention here. I run these kind of people down for a living. My investigation thus far has given me Mr. "Doolottle's" real name, address, phone number and criminal record history. He has a long background in various kinds of fraudulent and criminal activity. In addition he has been bankrupt and is a registered sex offender in two states. In addition he is wanted for deadbeat dad charges in yet another state. I have alerted the authorities in the state in which he is now located and they are pursing the matter with great interest. In my professional opinion, returning any calls from this number are a complete waste of your time. If your local telephone provider offers call blocking, I suggest you use it.

This number kept calling my home, I finally picked up, it was a collection agency, "Collection Enforcers" (so lame). They were calling for my son who apparently had a 4 year past due electric bill that he paid his half, but his roommate never paid the bill of $72.00.  Which now turned into a $450 with 26% interest they tacked on.  I offered to pay the original bill, and not the interest and they were extremely rude and confrontational.  Actually asked "who did I think I was dictating to them what to pay", so now they get NOTHING instead of the bill being paid!!

My advise.....DO NOT ANSWER THAT NUMBER (877-497-2280)!!

What you have here is a bunch of A***OLES who get a power high trying to intimidate anyone they can!

You can block their calls usually through your telephone service.  That's what I'm doing.  They have been calling here for months.  It's the same man on the recording, just a different name.  It's a scam!

These guys crack me up a message from Charles Dolittle, give me a break to credit these idiots with a sense of irony is stretching it, sense of humor I doubt it, sarcasm possibly.

Got voicemail message saying to callCharles Doolittle by 5 PM   I went ahead and called back and after a short wait, an angry female voice said the police would be knocking at my door in about an hour with a warrant for my arrest.  They said I had an overdrawn bank account for  3 years.  I don't even bank at the bank they listed.

Mindful lunatic.  You go gettem!!  They started calling me today and after reading your post I have no intention in answering or calling them back.  Thanks for letting me know of your experience so that I don't waste my time or energy on these scammers.  I never applied to Anthem so I don't know how they got my number.  Maybe when Kroger got hacked a month or so ago.

No, I am not trying to write a song for Tesla! I am merely trying to help OTHERS avoid the problems and harassment  that I have tolerated for almost 20 months now...

When I applied and was rejected for private insurance last year, I had to give my personal information to Anthem. I was denied due to several factors. Regardless of acceptance or denial, I was rejected by Anthem, but these crooks, and thieves jumped on me like a fat kid on a cupcake! Trust me, I am one and I resemble that remark!

Come to find out, there was a problem where Anthem?s servers were hacked and I was and currently am the victim of Identity Theft. NICE! Funny how they want to rack up more money on me? WHY won?t someone steal an identity and PAY that person's bills? That would be nice!

Anywho? There has been this ?Debt Agency? after me since early last year! I finally had enough of this! Yesterday I stood up to them! I told them about 2 months ago, IF I OWE YOU anything, send me a bill! I want a paper bill of the debt!

Their replies were as follows: ?We sent you one!? then it turned into ?What is your email address?? Oh, and please let?s not forget my FAVORITE one! OMG! : ?Due to the age of the debt, we no longer have to prove the debt!?

For anyone reading this? IF YOU OWE someone money! Or they are suing you for any amount of money, you have rights in America! For now that is? Moving on? I told them that if I owe money I want to know who they are collecting it for. They said that they purchased my debt from another organization. I asked again and repeatedly: WHO!? They refused and failed to answer!

So, I was a little irritated the one day and I posed their standing to them! I told this guy something very simple and he did NOT like it!

?So, let me understand this?! I owe you money? How much? Oh, never mind you won?t tell me that either? So, here is my thinking? I allegedly owe you, whatever it is you are trying to collect! What about the $20,000 I lent you 11 years ago? I want that NOW! Or you can pay of what I owe your company and we can call it even!?

He got noticeably agitated! Then he fired back at me! ?I do not know you! I did not know you 11 years ago and furthermore, I do NOT owe you $20K!?

I happily replied and told him: ?Yes you do! However the debt is so old that I no longer have to prove it! Get bent and stop calling me!?

Then yesterday is when the preverbal poop hit the fan! I was very tired yesterday and not feeling well! They called and I answered. They told me again about how my file was forwarded to their offices and that I was being given ONE MORE chance to rectify before being sent to litigation!

I told him to go ahead and send it to litigation! I told him that I am NOT paying anything till I get a written statement in the mail with the amount that I owe, to who I owe it to. Then he got huffy and started saying how he is my last chance at getting this resolved?

I then thought back to last week? I got this notification from Anthem that my information may or may not have been compromised in the attack on their server? I am guessing IT WAS!

I looked at my caller ID. I got the # that has been harassing me? For anyone else out there that is getting these kind of calls?  The number that these crooks are calling me from is: 1-877-497-2280

I looked it up in Google? in 0.10 seconds I had results? A lot of them! I saw that EVERY single post and everything that was mentioning that number was scam or fraud alerts?

I called the number back 3 times? 3 times a guy answered. 3 times I heard the SAME VOICE! 3 times I heard the same voice with 3 different names?

That is when I told him that I found that info on Google? He then told me: ?The postings on Google are nothing but low life pieces of scum like yourself trying to get out of debt for free!?

I hung up? I got a return call within seconds and the voice on my message was synthesized! It was a totally different voice but the sentence structure and the tone were identical to the last 3 names and same voice I had talked to?

?Hey (my name), you?re a REAL tough guy aren?t you! You?re a real do***e bag! No one is going to take you to court! You stupid piece of s***! This is what I am going to do? I am going to post your social security number on a public forum on Google and let it stay there for the entire world to see! We will see what all the people in Africa do with your number! They will rack up every point they can on all the porn and gambling sites known to man! Yeah, that is what I am going to do! Good luck!?

I have the voice mail saved to my phone, to my computer, and to 2 different disks?  So, here is the thing? I have called my phone carrier, I called the social security people, I called the FTC, and I called the local police and FBI. This harassment is ILLEGAL and I will be seeking retribution for it!

I got the same message this morning, and when I called back they said that Charles Doolittle was out of the office.  The person I did talk to told me they were looking for Ronnie so-and-so and I told them I had no idea who that was.  They apologized for the inconvinience.  Does anyone know what this is about??  If it is a scam...what is the scam about??

Currently awaiting results of locating this business(?). Yes, Charles Doolittle, was the name used by the caller. Message was left to call. Course of action is to locate and contact state/federal officials. Don't waste your time calling back.

I got this message on my machine as well. I sat listening with mock shock and dismay over the fact that I forgot about a file! How could I DO such a thing?! I'm normally so very responsible!

Too bad by the time I got the message it was 11pm central time. Oh well. Now I'll never know what's in that file.

Call me Im unlisted said they have a file on my family and to call back by 3 and talk to Green ext 1402 called wouldnt talk to me cuz my name wasnt on the file "jerk" how do people get away with this crap
