When default on loans you don't get to choose, who you pay. There calling because you wouldn't pay original creditor. Don't use as another stall tactic or excuse, pay your bills. It's because of idiots like you there employed.

Ten calls a day to my cell phone. I've put them on my reject list so I don't hear the call, later I look at my call logs and it is always the same number, over and over. Would really like to meet this piece of SSSShit

GC Services owns this number (as well as 40-50 others).  GC Services is a large collection agency located in Houston, Texas.   They boast being the largest privately held outsourcing provider of call center management and collection agency services in North America. They mostly collect for student loans.  Beware, they use local phone numbers when calling.

all they want is ask your SSN + date of birth + your address. They such a ..."As...le" company.....don't even bother to answer their phone. All they ask is you own them a Student Loan and it's been sent to collection. Very stupid. they call me twice yesterday & today.

They are from GC Services claiming to be collecting on federally insured student loans. Alt number 509-774-0959.

Called my cell. I answered and heard some automated message (which I could barely hear) then I heard someone pick up on the other end. I continued to ask who's calling and they hanged up.

These people called and left a msg on my mom's answering machine saying that my nursing license would be revoked if I didn't settle the matter immediately. At no point did they disclose that this was an attempt to collect a debt. Yes, I owe $. Whenever I get a debt collection call I write down info and then ask them to send me a statement via snail mail. They generally don't respond to the request. I'm going to start taking names and logging each call bc this is bs.

I received a call from a local number 214-390-3507, from a woman inquiring about speaking to someone in our "Payroll Department" in regards to someone who works for our company. I told the woman that it was our Company Policy for all requests of this sort were to be made via fax or email. I offered to give her our fax number or email address, however, she told me that she would need to speak to someone in our Payroll Dept. first. She left the 1-877-551-9478, regarding file # 519586.

Call came in on my work number "Vladimir" caller w/eastern european accent saying was calling on behalf of student loan organization trying to garnish wages of someone who doesn't work here and was I right person to speak with - said no, and then asked for someone in payroll or HR.  Took down his info - call back number he gave was this one 877-551-9478 and gave "case" number 517371.  Call came in on a different number: 206-453-2358

They called me about someone with the same last name, but would not identify themselves to my elderly mother. When I called I pushed & got enough to tell, then I asked for company info & got the web site.

Don't give info out without verification of who is calling. Ask to have their; company name, physical address, name of the person you are talking to, their agent ID or extension & a call back number & then look them up on the web & call them back off their web site numbers.

"Hello this message is for Don Roberts. If you can give Collin Roberts a message for me I'm not able to reach him on the phone number you left in his application. Have him give me a call back at 877-551-9478 and reference application number 109890 thank you"

This guys called my cousin, who is my emergancy number with my health insurance and no one else and told her that they are calling from the Social Security Services. I called back and the first thing they asked was my SSN and said, you just called us..that's enough for us to take action against you. Who calling for what or when and why..no explaination. Stay away from this phone number.

Thank goodness I looked up this number. I let it go straight to VM. Apparently "Louis" is looking for the person who had the cell number before me and called from a cell phone# 661-878-7280. On the VM is states to call 877-551-9478 gave an ext#. I called the toll free# and stated that I am tired of these other persons calls and to please take the number out of the system. Maybe I am wrong, but I thought it was against the law to call from a cell phone when trying to collect any person's debt.

Received call on July 1, 2011 at about 10:20 a.m. Hawaii time from Jasmine and Peter. Peter said he was training Jasmine and they were calling from GC Services.  He wanted me to get in touch with a former co-worker and have that person contact them at (877) 551-9478 extension 100011.  

I asked why does he have to go through me to get in touch with this person whom I have no association with? He deliberately LIED and said that that person used me as a reference. I told him I did not give permission to this person to use me as a reference.  He claimed that he could not give me more info about the purpose of the call and insisted that there was nothing wrong about contacting me to get ahold of the other person.

I received a call from GC Services today... they were inquiring about our payroll department. When i advised them I could help them they tried to get employee information. They actually asked about a person whom we never employed and I don't even know.

I gave them no information - but, it sounds like a scam of some sort! BE CAREFUL!!!

I got a message that said please wait for an important call, but then they hung up.

GC Services called and left a message on my work phone and said it was regarding wage garnishment.  When I called back the first thing they asked me was for my social security number not my name. When I wouldn't give them my SS#  and they transfered me to a girl who requested my name. I asked what company this was and she wouldn't tell me unless I told her my name. I told her she was being recorded and this information was being sent to the police and she said that I didn't have permission to record our conversation.  I told her that she has no right to privacy on the phone at which time she was going to send me to speak to her supervisor. When she put me on hold I hung up do to this being a case of trying to obtain my personal information. Companies tell you that they just don't call you out of the blue and request your information. Everyone should be careful of this phone number and not give anyone your personal information to anyone.

They say you owe $$ on your student loans and you must pay them immediately. They will try to help you get out of default. they staff is young and friendly. DO NOT DEAL WTH THEM
IF YOU OWE$$  GO TO THE LENDER FIRST. GO TO Direct Loand , or better yet, EdFund  because thse two are legit and are the correct way to get info.
DO NOT PAY GCS services or any collection agency.
Sadly I fell for this and spent thousands  of dollars trying to repay a loan. I could have bought a house by now on that  $$ paid to collectors. If only i had known before it was tooo late.

My 86-year old mother got a call from this number today asking her to verify my phone number (published).  The woman's name was "Marie Anderson", and she claimed I had used my mother as a "reference", which is a bold lie.  I went through an identity theft so this could well be a collection for something I don't even know about, but if so, why didn't this sleaze-ball just call my house and leave a message?  Slimy, immoral tactics!

877-551-9478 is some kind of financial institution or collection agency.  When I asked what it was about and if my number could be taken off their list, the lady said "Well if you're not this person then it's none of your business is it?"  Nice f-ing manners for this company huh? Idiots.
