I've recently gotten texts from this number saying that my friend has signed me up to win a best buy card. I dont know why all of a sudden I've gotten texts from them. Unless someone signed my number up online. But its rather annoying.

For text message weather alerts from 422-28 claiming to be from accuweather.com. The ONLY way I found to stop these is to call Accuweather Customer Service at (814) 235-8650. You could also try emailing them at CustomerService@AccuWeather.com, but I was happy to get a live person to remove my number via 24x7 support line.

I have been receiving Text messages from this company, and tried to END the text, however, they are still coming. I called the company and no one picks up. It is wasting my texts.

I've got the same one as steve, keep getting weather alerts from 42228. I've sent X to 42228 and to the phone number 8775710774, yet they still keep coming. I wouldn't mind, but half the time they are inaccurate, tell me a weather alert is for my zip code when it is really for the other end of the state.

Received a text message from a number listed as 1540. Usually t-mobile has the number 456 if they are sending you a free message, but I did not think about this and stupidly replied anyway. The exact message from 1540 was, "Free T-Mobile Msg: We want to hear what you think about us. Please reply with YES to take a two question customer survey. Reply with H for help, S to stop."

I replied with "S", and then immediately received another messege with,"Thanks, you will no longer receive messages from T-Mobile unless you text us again." Then it left the number 877.571.0774

That was when I looked up the number and came across this site. Thanks for the info you guys! Hopefully they don't send anymore messages.

Texted "STOP" to 757-59. Received the following confirmation message:
"You are now unsubscribed from ALERTS mobile alerts, sorry to see you go."

It remains to be seen whether this is the last. I hope it is. Thanks, Verizon Customer. And thanks, 800notes.com for providing this service.

Event Reminder
Ive been receiving text message weather alerts from 422-28 claiming to be from accuweather.com and listing this phone number 877-571-0774 for support. Ive texted them back to unsubscribe and even receive a "confirmation" text to say that I'll no longer be receiving these alerts, only to have them continue. The phone number is a dead end. at wits end here.

Called: 877-834-9566 and spoke to gentleman, he said this is where people are texting in to a radio station to receive a ringtone. They handle all carriers, and Verizon Wireless is one of them.  So...if you have teenagers,,,,this is probably where it is coming from. They are trying to purchase ringtones for free but they are being charged for them...BEWARE of this number..and you might as well forget contacting Verizon about this problem...They act so stupid sometimes...they can't tell you anything about it....but they can sure charge you for it...Imagine that!!!!!! The only thing you can do is go to the phone that is receiving these messages and text, STOP, and they are suppose to quit.

I was receiving text messages from 75759.  Apparently it was Hot97 radio station or Emmis Communications, Inc. spamming my cell phone.  Here is how this work.

First, a company such as Vibes Media, is hired by whomever, in my case Hot97, to text message my cell phone #.  The funny thing is that Hot97 advertise at my expense and each text message is 45 cents.

So, I was fed up and I called Vibes Media and demanded to be taken off their Spam list. Their tech support number is 877.834.9566.  At first, I was pissed with Vibes Media, but they only provide the platform for this type of activity.  Hope this helps those of you how have to bare the burden of spam which they must pay for.

I received a text message saying this is from TMobile Loyalty survey and asked me to type in HP4 to continue or STOP to quit.

I called TMobile Customr Service and they told me that this is from a third party company trying to sign me up for ringtones.
