My husband and I also got the same phone call this morning (Jan 25th, 2010)  Its probably a marketing scheme.  I called the number back and it was a recording.  Their terms are as follows:

Be married, over the age of 28 and have a combined income of $65,000 or more.

The only catch is you have to pay taxes, tips and port fees...and they are doing all of this in the "hopes" that you will come back and use their travel services for future trips.  I worked in marketing for a timeshare company a few years so this sounds very familiar in ways in which they get you into their office or check out their product.  We dont meet the income, otherwise we would do it out of curiosity.  :-)

Hope that helps

Oh yeah - one more thing.  Their office is in Costa Mesa, which is local for me so that might be where they got my info.  Plus, I also fill out so many contest stuff like you, so my name is out there somewhere.

Listened to the voice mail on my company cell (I -never- give out the number for non-business purposes) then called back the number and listened to the recording so I could fill in the FCC complaint form 1088G.

They said they were in Northbrook, IL.   It's a scam.   Maybe I should send them a box filled with the sh*t that I pick up from my dog.    They should be used to that by now, it's what this 'promotion' smells like.

I got a call claiming that there was an entry form that I signed last year at some sort of event. Apparently, it was pulled and I won two tickets for a complimentary cruise to Mexico and back from Long Beach for four days with Carnival Cruise. I am the type of person to randomly sign up for drawings like this, so I'm not surprised if I did enter on a whim. But stuff like this is always sketchy... I don't know what to do.

I got the message today on my business Blackberry.  It showed up as a private number so I let it go to voicemail.  The recordeing of a woman's voice stated that I received 2 round-trip tickets to anywhere in the united states, 2 nights at a Marriott hotel in any city of my choice, $100 gift cert to Olive Garden (or some other restaurant I didn't recognize), and $100 in free gas and said I had 24-hours to redeem.  I called the number they left, 877-765-1960 and got the same woman's voice, a different and vague message.  It all seems very suspect so I am not following up any further, especially after reading other comments on this post.

Yep, same coastal reservations call... from Mary... the number on my caller ID said 913-312-7368. I tracked it to a company/person in Kansas City, KS. However, doing a basic people search online I would have to pay to find the name of the person/company. dont have the $$ to do it! i contacted coastal reservations themselves and let them know of my findings.

These idiots have called my wife's and my cell phone with this cruise marketing BS. Never gave them our cell phone numbers in the past as they stated. Report them to the FCC people! If the FCC gets enough complaints, they will take action. It looks like they giving an address of 575 Anton Blvd #300, Costa Mesa, CA.

I got this same message yesterday (Jan. 29) from 877-587-1660 and I called Carnival Cruise Lines directly and I was told that this telephone number was not associated with Carnival Cruise Lines and that Carnival does not call customers and tell them they won a free cruise.  So, it smells like a scam to me.

I just got the call on my Google Voice number which is a number that NOBODY has! I guess it's possible that the number was once used by someone else, but at any rate, it definitely doesn't sound legit. The recording went so fast, Google couldn't even transcribe it correctly. I listened to it in my account and sure enough, just like all of you, I was being offered the same Mexico cruise. I just blocked their number, so now if they call again, they'll hear a disconnected service message! Suckers!!

Here's the actual message:

"(First part got cut off) Now we can only hold your promotional cruise for 24 hours, so please call us as soon as you can. Congratulations again and enjoy two complimentary boarding passes on board the Carnival Cruise line heading on down to Mexico for 4 nights of fun and 5 days on us."

Has anybody tried calling these people to see what happens?

the address they give in the message is: 575 anton blvd ste #300 in Costa mesa.  told me to be there at 545pm or 745pm.    I check out the address online.  this floor is currently (as of 1/28/10) occupied by a bunch of law offices. all the offices are ste #300.   i guess 300 stands for the 3rd floor.  So i called some of the law offices there and they said that to talk with any of offices there in person I would have to go to the front desk and be "announced"      it might be fun to show up just to kick some axx-hole in the teeth.

Someone named Mary claiming to be from "Central Reservations" called saying that I've won two tickets on board Carnival Cruises to Ensenada from Long Beach. My cell phone number is fairly new (had it for 4-5 months) and therefore I'm sure I haven't entered any sweepstakes like this using this number, so it seems very likely to be a scam.

I received the same exact call at about the same time. I sometimes enter sweepstakes also, but I am pretty sure this is a scam. The message was automated and vague.
