877-624-9718 is a free call. Tonight set your fax up to dial and fax every 10 minutes. Loop a few blank pages together, maybe with a message. Then go home. You will drive them crazy all night long and unless your fax hears the fax handshake tone, it will hang up and call again.

Wow - can't believe they would actually leave a message like that on a recording.   That's going too far.  May be worth trying to get through to visa-m/c directly and reporting them.  They should be put out of business because of their tactics - they are definitely misleading people.  What they told you Eloise, in your first post, is almost EXACTLY what I was told too.

UPDATE: When I didn't respond back to "Julia", I received a call which remains recorded on my answering machine in which "Julia" threatens that, because our account will now REMAIN red-flagged, MY COMPANY will now be held accountable / liable for all fees, litigations, fines, etc. She said that all of those fines would have been applied to our current processor, and if we fail to fax them our statement, then we are accepting responsiblity, and will have to pay off any fines assessed to our red-flagged account.

What a bunch of nonsense.

I am now fully convinced that I did the right thing, and can say with certainty that this is some sort of manipulative scam.

I've been getting calls from this number, a woman allegedly named "Julia Johnson."  She is also from "AM Payments," and I also heard the same story about our account being red flagged by their watchdog organization due to some overcharges.  She talked at great lengths about the Durbin Amendment, and assured me that she was not interested at all in trying to get me to change companies or solicit me for anything.  She promised that her organization had merely been hired out by Visa-M/C to hunt down these processing "offenders" and get them to refund our money.  In order to do that, she needed us to fax our last statement.  All specific questions that I asked her were shirked with the explanation that privacy and security laws wouldn't allow her to have any of that information - she only had a minor amount of information, and she was just hired to contact clients like me and help us get our money back.  It all sounds very, very convincing, but I simply do not feel comfortable sharing my statement information with anyone.  Also, I noted that her math when she was "calculating" my current rates and how badly we were being gouged was very inaccurate.  This makes me suspicious of her story.

I got a call from this number last week - someone named Sonya from "AM Payments" who said she was an "ISO with visa-m/c" and gave me the same crap about our account was red flagged that we were being overcharged.  She got very specific and even cited stuff from the new laws - sounded very official.  I kept trying to  trip her up and get her to say something that would expose her but she held firm and was very calm when repeating everything 3 & 4 times. I started getting suspicious when she said that I could black out any information on the statement that I didn't want them to know.  I kept asking her that if she knew we were being overcharged, then she should already have the information needed and why would I need to fax over a statement but she kept saying she didn't have specific charges.  Then she put some "supervisor" on the phone named Jaime (a guy) and when I told him that I wanted to contact visa-m/c and confirm that they were the company assigned to handle these "overcharged" accounts that were red flagged - he hung up on me.  I am a very skeptical person and  they almost had me convinced.   Just hang up (or have fun with them as "get a real job" suggests) and DO NOT send anything to these people!

100% total scam!!!!  I wouldn't send our statements to them and Sonya got angry and a little crappy with me.  I hung up and called my merchant services provider, they sent my current rate schedule and went over the statement with me to easy my mind that we are not being over charged.  I have no idea what these people could do with our credit card statement but I am sure it wouldn't be legal.  Hang up on them if they call don't get sucked in to their scam!!!!

Two calls today from this number, Telemarketers using questionable schemes to get me to divulge information about my accounts. Saying our account has been red-flagged and that we are being overcharged for some duplicated rate increase. Claimed to be "above" our Visa/Mastercard processor and knew we were being overcharged. However, they had no info on what we were being charged or who our merchant account was with. Scam/Telemarketing all the way.

I just received a call from this number. Wasn't sure about the authenticity of thr call so I googled the number and happened upon u all! =)  The caller said that my account red flagged for the lst 2 months. His story, however, is flawed. According to his theory the last 4 months should have red flagged. ;(. I do wonder tho..how he knew about my contract numbers...where do the peeps get the info? I will not be faxing this company my statements BUT I am being overcharged and will be contacting my Merchant provider. Thanks for the info...

Person claiming to be Richard Dixon contacted us at our place of business, stated they were doing an audit of our credit card reports and requested copies of them.  Had his supervisor come on the line to confirm who they were. I requested a phone number to do some research and call them back.  Contacted the phone number is for AM Payment.  They were requesting personal information/social security number
EIN etc. I did contact our credit card represetative to make them aware and also the Better business bureau

We received a phone call from this number today. The woman purported to be from a consumer watchdog agency that monitors "the industry" and our account had been flagged due to being listed as a small business but we had "astronomical" processing fees, well beyond the industry average. She then asked for credit card processing statements and access to our merchant services account so they could do a free account analysis. She gave us an email address of 'universal3786@gmail.com' which sent up red flags. Gmail? Really?

Reverse search of the phone number comes back to a company called AM Payment

"Tasha" called my business saying she was an account representative for Visa AND Mastercard which sent up a red flag for me immediately.  She said our account had been "flagged" as if someone had stolen our credit card.  It turned out that she wanted me to review my merchant services statements with her saying that we were being overcharged.  Then, I specifically asked her if she was trying to get me to switch my merchant services.  She said she wasn't and that she worked for a company called Pivotal.  I said I would call her back and looked up Pivotal online only to find out that it is a Canadian merchant services company.  Less then 10 minutes later she called ME back and I gave her a piece of my mind.  Don't waste your time with these idiots or give them any information they could use to rope you into some BS contract.  This company DEFINITELY misrepresented itself during this call.

I answer the phone knowing it's not going to be a productive call and when i say hello, i get a recording that says "you are now connected to "Y" Tel" and then they hang up.  Do you think that i will now see some new charge on my phone bill?

I think alot of people would go see my movie about the last straw when that caller gets the one person with unlimited money and skill to track down that caller, explain his mission, and then ripes the callers fingers off his hand and then uses the fingers to stab that person in this ears to make him deaf becauce he is not listening anyway.  He would probably stab the caller in the eyes also just so he can't see to dial the phone ... with his toes or something.

We will call our hero William Wallace and at the close of that gruesome sceen, with all of the co-workers staring in shock, William will scream "FREEDOM!"

I have a couple of ways to deal with these parasites. First, I let the phone ring three full times before I pick up. I pick up and don't say anything for 2-3 seconds. If it is a computer autodialer, 80-90% of the time the computer will hang up thinking it has gotten a voice mail or answering machine. After 2-3 seconds, I say our company name, but don't give out my name. That way they don't automatically have a name if they call back and get someone else. If I still get a person and they insist, I tell them my name is "Richard Smith"(it's not). It is none of their business what my real name is, they are telescammers who are breaking the law. If they persist in calling over and over again, I tell them that my boss is available, and then I use a sports air horn right next to the phone. What are they going to do, sue me? "Your Honor, I was illegally telescamming and they deafened me!" Good luck with THAT argument. The judge might give me a medal. Reporting these "people"(I use that term loosely) to the Do Not Call Registry is futile, they are usually spoofing their phone number anyway. If you have the time, have some fun with them. See how long they will stay on hold or still be on the line if you put the phone down. Take your cordless into the bathroom and have an extended "deposit" at the Porcelain Bank, complete with very loud fake sound effects. Tell them you ARE the boss and listen to their sales pitch, never saying yes to anything, but always saying that you will look at your numbers and see what you can do. Some scammers will record any affirmative answer you give and then splice it into a call and bill you for whatever they are selling, using that as evidence of an order. Waste as much of their time as you can, because that keeps them from scamming other people, and it can be a really fun stress reliever! Anything that we can do to make this less profitable for these ticks on the butt of humanity is a plus. Feel free to pass this on or add to it with your fun ways of taking back your phone lines. If these idiots would get a real job, the world would be a better place for all of us.

A person from this number called us and wanted me to give them our credit card account for our business so they could credit an overpayment of interchange rate back to us asap as today 4.30.12 was the last day of the month and they wanted to solve this problem before month end.  I said she should have the acct number since she was calling me. She said she didn't have it. She also asked if I checked my statements carefully each month. I asked for her telephone number and she hung up on me.

This number has called me before, and again called me today.

I have a practice that if I do answer a call and it is a telemarketer, I ask them to take me off the call list and I also add them to my don't answer list on the phone. I am also registered on the "do not call" national registry.  If they do get lucky and I answer, there would be NO WAY I would do business with them when I already told them not to call and they ignored my request.

It's a telemarketer and they are NOT nice.  Rude and as soon as you say the owner is not there, the say they will call back and hang up in your face.  Do  not answer.  Save yourself the grief, and by all means, report them if they keep calling.

Received several calls from Sonya at this number. (I am the Office Manager)
Apparently, they want to discuss lowering the percentage rate we are charged by the credit card companies to run customer's credit cards for purchases.

She asked me to fax her a copy of our monthly Merchant Statement. I have not done so and will be discussing this with the owner before I do.
