I got a call this morning from a Lady, Kathy Navach, she said that I owe a debt and if i dont pay it by 11am, they wil have me escorted off my job.  this is the 2nd time I recieved this type of call.  I did research and found out it is definitely a scam.  If anyone calls u telling you they gonna arrest you for a debt, DO NOT BELIEVE IT,  they can not arrest you.  The company is a scam, and they scare people into paying them.

Same call, from the same number only it was to have my lawyer (or self) call Alexa Calloway at department 4015 because I was wanted for questioning regarding a legal matter and gave my employer's name.  Thanks to the ability to confirm this was a scam prior to calling I didn't bother returning the call and would encourage you to do the same.

This call is very intimidating.  They threaten to come arrest you on the job.  They will not give a physical address and are very vague with who they are.  They try to scare you and it works but again keep in mind they can not have you arrested.  They basically are bullying you into action.  If you have an attorney notify him/her and let them call this firm.

These people are friggin idiots!!! They tell me that Im gonna be picked up in 20 minutes and that was over an hour ago. Now I asked them to give me there license number since I have one for my business. Then she got nasty and I hung up on her

I got a call from Alexa Calloway about a warrant that was to be issued for my arrest for a debt I owed. She arranged payment for this and would send out settlement documentation. I called on 2-25-09 to get a copy of them via fax, but so far nothing has come. I don't know what is happening with this case as I got another call from someone else about this debt. I'm not sure what to do next if those papers do not come.

I still haven't received the fax from Alexa Calloway's office. I'm not sure who to contact if they are not here by the time I leave work today. Her secretary told me that everyone was out to lunch and to give her 20 to 30 minutes to get the fax sent. Who do I contact about this?

They called me at work and left a very threatening message saying that I needed to have my lawyer or myself call them back at 877-639-5729 extension 4027 before the close of business today.  They only referenced me by my last name and said that I was involved (key) in a some kind of lawsuit. I have no idea what they are talking about.

I received a call from these people. The said they were from Saint Mary and wanted me to verify my address. I told the woman to verify who she was. She said she could not discuss the matter until I verified my address and who I was. I said: well, you can verify who you are and I won't verify who I am.

Then, she gave me this number to call back and verify. I said: now, why would I call back a phone number to verify who you are? Goodbye.

And then, I found this site. Do not give them any information. It's a SCAM.

THIS SANDRA WHITTEN HAS TOLD ME SHE IS FROM SOUTH CAROLINA.. THE ADDRESS IS 405 CONNER SQUARE, MONCKS CORNER, SC 29461

I received the same type of messages as above.  I called them several times to get answers and when I threatened to verify all information with the S. Carolina state bar I was hung up on and have yet to be contacted.  The address I was give 405 Vonner Square, Moncks Corner, South Carolina 29461.  Fax# 877-836-0037.  I received several names, each and every person was fake and unprofessional.  (A scare tactic)  The names are Katherine Shorestein which I spoke with and when I called back with questions was told I was harassing her.  She is an attorney with  Shorestien & Conrad. She claims she is with the State of South Carolina Processin Firm, South Carolina 45834.  However, within the same office  Sandra Whitten (supposedly an attorney) with Whitten & Thompson contact # 843-253-7057.  She is with the federal investigation dept. so she says.  
Each and every individual (firm) has the same receptionist...who stated that there are several firms in her area.

Some non english speaking idiot called my work and cell phone from a local number (989-486-2061) but left a message to call him back at 407-641-0818 which is in Fla. I have had these calls before but filed complaints with the FTC and the state attorney general and the calls stopped. Now they are calling from totally different numbers and make threats about them "coming after me.....and if i don't respond it means i am trying to runaway....good luck...." what a joke. The last time i got those calls after i filed the complaints i answered the calls and told them i filed the complaints....he told me to get lost. How professional is that! It is all a desperate effort for people to take advantage and scare people into paying a "bill" that is not legit!

Just to follow up, as I said in my last post, I requested that they send me paper work to back up their claim. It is now January 22 and I have yet to recive anything in the mail. Also they have NOT called me again. This seemed to work!

Same thing got a call from offices of attorney Sandra Witten saying I was wanted for questioning to have myself or my attorney call immediately at 877-639-5729 when I called offering my attorney and his information she just said, "if you know what the matter is concerning have him give my firm a call".  She asked if he was a defense attorney or bankruptcy I told her, "he handles anything I need".  Scam city.

Did you ever receive an address for these people?  My client encountered the same problem yesterday and we are having the same trouble.  The person said they were Sandra Whitten, attorney at law and made the same threats as yours

I've received 2 calls from "Sandra Whitten" today at this number - one at my office and one on my cell.  I didn't plan to call them back.  After reading this however, I think I will.  First I will point out that any threats they make regarding arrest, etc., are in violation of the Federal Debt Collection Act.  Second, I will inform them that ANY debt incurred by me that was supposed to be repaid prior to 2 years from the date any LAWSUIT is filed is, in the state of Texas, at least, UNCOLLECTIBLE by law.  I know this for a fact because I had a debt that was recently reported to the IRS as income and I got it taken off because it is uncollectible due to its age.  So even tho I haven't filed bankruptcy, there's not a damn thing they can do about it.  Oh, and I'm also checking to see if "Sandra Whitten" is even a licensed attorney in any state.  If she's not, there's another law they're breaking.  This is going to be fun!!!

Call 877-639-5729 ext 4027 and you can talk to Jill Spillman, Attorney at Law. Jill wants to arrest you for not paying her for that payday loan. She will however take the warrant back if you will go to any Bank of America, call her on your cell phone and ask for the account number to have your funds transferred. Jill is running low on drugs so do not call her when that happens, she becomes highly irritated and her herpes tends to flare up. As an attorney, she can have you arrested anywhere in the U.S. so pay attention to her instructions. Jill is a former pole dancer who was fired for being ugly, she now collects for payday loans.

Since these crooks are based in Jacksonville, Florida and are very well known to the Florida Attorney General, you want to consider also reporting this incident to the Florida AG's office. I am writing to say that I just received a disturbing phone call from a company called Roman Spellman who is connected with the Jacksonville Based Ellis Crosby scam. I happened to be a smart consumer and when I asked them to prove their claims they seemed to stutter and I immediately called them on their lie. I sited that they were breaking the law by their empty threats of litigation, immediate incarceration and thought I could do nothing but call them on their false accusations but read this blog and find comfort that we can try and do something together. During the call she said her name was Sandra Whiten from Whiten Attorney's at Law and that they were suing me for a debt I owed from 2005. I have paid all of my debts to date and keep a close eye on my credit report so I knew she was lying. I told her I did not know what she was talking about and she said that I would be escorted out of my place of work shortly. She also stated that they were going to go after my place of work because I used their IP address when taking this false loan. I then spoke with another person after I called back who said her name was Jill Spellman and it was her company. She proceeded to tell me that she would forward me to another department and then hung up. My subsequent calls after that were quickly met with either a hang up or someone telling me I did not hear correctly. I was even put on the phone with her again and when I said I wanted to talk to a supervisor she tried to come back on the phone and say she was someone else.

It is a shame that people like this can continue to operate since technology allows us to track them by their phone number very quickly. I am lucky that I try and be versed in our laws and do my diligence to protect myself but I am sure they extort a lot of money from unknowing Americans and ruin peoples lives.

I received a phone call from this number today 1/06/2009 from a Sandra Witten agency who left me a message explaining that I was wanted for questioning and needed to contact them today. I called her back and she let me know that at 1 o'clock today she was going to file charges against me. I declared bankruptcy over 3 years ago and she was calling on something that I had declared bankruptcy on back at that time. I work right next door to my bankruptcy lawyers office, and went over to talk to him about this situation. He tried to call this person, and she hung up the phone on him without even discuss anything with him. He called back, and she hung up the phone again. My lawyer stated to me that he had never heard of anyone getting arrested before they had received some sort of correspondence. Also, it is common courtesy between lawyers to at least discuss this situation. I believe this to be a total scam and I am going to report it to the local attorney general and the police.

I received a call today saying I committed illegal acts because I used a business computer and on work time got a payday loan and then supposedly did not pay it.  They said they would see me in fifteen minutes to arrest me.  Also lawyers from the place I work and the credit union that I have my account at are going to file against me.  They even knew supposedly where our Magistrate office was in my hometown.  Very pushy people calling me honey and sweetheart and I hung up on them and reported the call to
my attorney generals office.  Loan was from 10/17/05.  WHAT SCUMBAGS.
I told her to send me paperwork. Report to your authorities and get these people.

877-639-5729 x 4014 Cathy Avay has been harassing me non stop since Dec 22 saying the same thing that I have been reading on here about how I am going to be arrested if i do not pay them by the end of the business day and wire the money to a bank of america account.  The people here are very rude, keep harassing me and yelling at me and they have given me three different law firm names when myself and my family has called them. I have already started reporting this but in the meantime they call every hour on the hour.

I got a call from someone from "Spellman Law Office" telling me to have my attorney contact them. The message came at work, so I gave them my home phone number and told them NOT to contact me at work again. We'll see what happens.

I just recieved a call from someone named Sandra Whitten as well, when I called back to get a physical address to file a complaint, she told me to go find it online myself. How did she know all of my personal information from years ago?

Jill Spellman told me of a debt I had with her client said I didn't clear up the matter that she would sign off on the paper work and submit it for my prosecution for stealing money from her client. She gave me a case number and the 1-877-639-5729 phone number.

Former Bankruptcy client of mine got a call from 877-639-5729 x4025, Sandra Witten and claimed my client was going to jail for a payday loan debt from 2005.  I suspect the names are fake which makes the actual person hard to find.  The debt was discharged in bankruptcy so there is NO chance that my client could be jailed.  In fact, the "creditor" is clearly in violation both Massachusetts and Federal Debt Collection Laws.

I returned their call at the number they provided me on my voice mail (877-639-5729 ex. 4027)and she stated that they were an attornys office that was representing a company called the MSN Group and that they were filing a stolen property report against me. I called her on it and said that I had done some research online and that I would be happy to discuss the matter once they sent me a copy of the debt in the mail. She complyed and that was that. Hopefully their will be no more harassing phone calls saying that I am a "person of interest".

HI- I just recieved a call from these people as well. I spoke with Jill and as I was listening to her I mentioned that I thought her calling was interesting because I was reading this online, and it was stating she was a fraud. In mid sentance about what she "said" I owed her, she goes well people say Elvis is still alive too, it does not mean what people write is true, we will just proceed with action against you...click. She hangs up. I just was not rude or anything just mentioned it in passing. So yeah I also think this is a total scam
