These people will search a home phone number, check for relatives and neighbors, call them, ask where you are and if you still live there.  They not only harrass their customers but family and neighbors.

Aggravating is not the word for Greentree. They start calling at 8:00 a.m. and don't stop til 9:00 p.m. They don't call one time in an hour they call four or five times in an hour. You can tell them when you get paid and when you will make your payment and it does no good. The thing that pisses me off is that they want my checking account information which I do not give to anyone. Bunch of dumb a**. In one day they called my home phone a total of 42 times and my cell 30. The thing is I not late on my payment or behind. Then I get a call this morning and the guy leaves me a message saying he is sending someone out to have me arrested. Like hell.

If they call you at work, you can tell them to NEVER call that number again. Debt collectors are legally bound to NOT call you at work, especially if you ask them not to. I only had to do that once. I still get calls from 8:30 in the morning to 9 at night on my cell phone (my only phone), but they don't call me at work any longer. So pick up once at work, tell them to never call that number again, tell them you'll pay when you have the money, but you never want to see them calling you at work again or you'll report them. I actually got that tip from another debt collector when I was covering front phones for my company one day, and had a call from a debt collector for someone in my organization. I called back to speak to her supervisor, and she said, "We are not allowed to call people at work if they ask us not to. It's law for all debt collectors.

If you can blast the loudest, screechiest music into the phone when you see it is them, it ticks them off.  They will call you non-stop, everyday from 8:01 a.m. till 9:00 p.m..  I had actually reported them to the BBB for threats and harrassment and had all the proof of "how we are going to come to your house and take our payment" and the BBB sided with them.  What does that tell you?

They are a complete and utter joke.  For the people that GreenTree claims that it is in "their contract" not to defer payments, they won't be able to show you that proof because there is a good chance that the Greentree scrubs aren't the initial company you had your mortgage through, but it was sold to them.  They are truly the scrubs of the earth.

Payment due the 1st, not late till the 15th and they immediately start calling on the first and have called here between 12-15 times a day.

I got a voice mail from a "Officer Sean Marshall" from the Law Enforcement Agency, yeah really? he couldn't spell the name let alone make me believe anything else he was saying. I told him he had to answer 3 simple questions:

1. What Law Enforcement Agency is he an officer with and located where?
  a. that is not a simple answer - my reply was an opportunity to provide some agitation to the call -        that was fun!

2. What is is rank in this law enforcement agency?
  a. tried to dance around this one and when I raised my voice and told him he was a fraud he got upset and started pushing back and trying to get me to answer questions, which i asked if he could count to 3 because I had 1 more question - again just provoking them is fun!

3. What slum in India does he call home?
  a. That really pissed him off and all I did was laugh which infuriated him again gave me some great satisfaction in pissing them off!

My suggestion is that we all call at least 3 times a day and get 2 or 3 friends to do so also and blow up their telephone lines.  

Block your number by dialing *67 then the 408-317-0812 and call the 7-11 reject on the other side of the line and ask them for directions, movie time and theater information, where the nearest 7-11 is located, ask for "officer" with a phone scam names like:

Yes I get them too, every day, several times a day, but my son can speak just like a person from India, and he answers and plays with them, or I just don't answer the phone. There is one way we could fix this Co. and that's is we all file a BK,,,just get rid of them once and for all, then if they continue,,,sue them!!!

Greentree claims they can't defer any payments for my grandma because they say its in her contract she can't. She too had surgery last year and they think she's lying as well. I really wish they would learn some compassion but I know that they won't.

Greentree is the worst company ever. My grandma was in and out of the hospital last year due to a head injury and yet they didn't care at all and all they do is harass her all day long. We are trying to get caught up but they won't defer a payment because they claim its in her contract that they can't. However, I'd like to see a copy of that contract so that way if its there then we can have it changed. On top of that my grandma even asked them to not call on my cell phone and yet they called on it twice yesterday. They simply don't care about their customers at all and would rather see them default. Why this company is still in business I'll never know but if they keep calling my cell after my grandma talks to them today at some point then I plan to get lawyer involved because I won't change my number if I don't have too.

So....Green Tree just called me.....Three times in a row!!!  They would hang up and call right back.  What a bunch of D*CKS!

This is Green Tree Lending company or their collection arm.  They are the lowest of the low.  They've been harrassing me and I'm not even a customer of theirs.  I got some Indian guy named "Steve" then another guy names Mark McPeak from FL.  

These people are scumbags - just hang up.

I have gotten calls from this number. From other comments, it looks to be from GreenTree. I have no account with this company. So, my questions is, how are they getting my phone number??? My number is not new, I have had it for quite a while. Questionable and seems like a scam.

If they call you as much as they do me here is what you do, call ur phone company and ask to block the numbers they call from even if u have good account bad account whatever.

For the people who get harassed by cell phone there is an app called EASY FILTER.

Go to market on your cell type in search easy filter down load and here is what happens. Any number u don't want to take add to this app on list. It blocks the call and text if they send no phone ringing nothing the call can not get thru. I'm in modification and they cant handle it F**k them rude people. I asked the guy where he was located so I can come pay him direct, face to face with no phone balls. Hung up on me. Don't get bullied theses are low LIFE'S, screw them!!!

Greentree is awful.  They are not the ones I got a loan with, but the other company sold it.  I haven't lived in this mobil home for years, my son makes the payments.  You can be late one day and they will harass you.  You can call and tell them you will have a payment taken out of your bank account on a certain date and they will still harass you.  OMG, they are calling me now!  The Payment is due today and it's 1:pm. I told them my son would be calling before 5 and have a payment made.  I told them this yesterday.  I am trying to find a way to get a better loan with lower interest so I can pay these suckers off. I have good credit now, but I think Greentree wants to ruin it.

We had a mobile home financed back in the 90's.  We moved out of state and settled on the remainder amount and left the trailer to our old landlord.  We recently have been harrassed by phone calls.  I stated we settled on the trailer back in 2000-2001.  He asked if we had records...I obviously do not since those type of records you only have to keep 7-10 years and alot was sorted upon us moving back to Florida.  I have no idea what we are going to do to get them to stop.  You try straightening your credit, buy a home and these old collection agencies are coming out of the wood works!!!!  I am fed up with it.  Whats crazy after I told him we had settled, he said oh I don't have the complete file, I will call you back when I receive it. I said do not bother, they will get no more money because we settled the debt!!!  I just received another call, I did not answer though!

This company is in the process of being sold to Walter Investment Management Corp., out of Florida. It is too bad that this company does not understand how to connect with people in a positive way. It would help their bottom line. The company as a whole could use some lessons in people skills.
I am never late with them and they are still a pain in the butt joke to deal with. They do not own your loan, but service it for someone else. That may be why their attitude is what it is, it is not their money.
Next time you get a mortgage, make sure to have it put in the contract that your loan cannot be sold to or serviced by Green Tree or any Green Tree affiliated company. If the lender refuses, walk out.

Please do not get sick and be on Medicare with no secondary insurance. I had 2 surgeries in a month and a half last year. I had to pay my 20% for the facility up front. I live on 828.00 dollars a month. I had to pay almost 400.00 dollars out of pocket. Well I got behind on the payments, so when they called I told them what happened and the person on the other end called me a liar. She said you are lying, I know they will bill you. I was devastated. Greentree doesn't have a clue.
I finally got to talk to a guy named Travis. He said he would set me up to defer 3 payments and my next payment would not come do till Jan 1st 2011. Everything was taken care of, what they needed to do the deferral. I was so happy to be back on track or at least I thought I was.
On December 15th I got a call from greentree wondering where my December payment was. I said we did a deferral and did not have a payment due till January 1st and that Travis was the one who set it up. They transferred me to Travis and I ask him what was going on. He said I was only approved for 2 months. What the hell you lied to me I told Travis, he said a board member or his Supervisor was supposed to have called me. Well I never got that phone call and Greentree wanted their payment. Needless to say I was once again behind on my payments, and I only get paid once a month because I am on disability. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with, and very rude.

Green Tree thinks they are immune from our right to freedom of speech and of peaceful demonstration and assembly.
Try assembling or demonstrating at one of these addresses: (For those in the areas where only the po box is listed, you can search for state business licences, rental or deed holder information for business addresses, local listings, internet searches, etc... I am sure you can find the physical address. You can protest with the same language and mannerisms that they use with you on the phone. It would be fun to record their rants and then invite the press to your protest and play their calls over loud speakers blaring at them as they go in, out for lunch, out for a smoke, to go home, etc... Pretty soon those who see our displeasure on their news programs when they go home for dinner, with their faces exposed, and their own language thrown back at them will either quit, stop, or close shop. (keep reading for other interesting ideas) Make sure you remain passive and peaceful but loudly and proudly protest!

I did a search on LinkedIn after signing up with the same level of representative naming convention they use when identifying themselves - you know what I mean, right? I found about 679 results in my advanced search for people currently working for a company with the name Green Tree in it. Now folks, please be careful you don't harass the hard working honest landscaping guys who have a bad brand for their tree trimming/care company. However, I am sure you will love the many that are currently working in all levels of senior management that have their profiles on LinkedIn, in fact if you get calls months or years after you've dealt with them, you could consider the over 1,500 who used to work their but no longer do, actually 1,500 includes the 679 current. Now that probably wouldn't be nice, but after you run out of the 679 you might get bored.
Or you could report the Green Tree company page on Facebook that only 21 people in the world like.

Nobody on myspace admits to it. C'mon folks get creative to find these folks and confront them peacefully with your displeasure!

These people call at least twice a day from different numbers. I have never had an account with Greentree, however, TWO YEARS after my house was foreclosed I received a letter from them wanting payment on the difference between what was owed and what they sold it for. TWO YEARS later?? Really?  No way will I even return a phone call. It has now been THREE YEARS!!!  Take your loss and move on....and STOP calling me!

Same for me. Constant calls and stupid questions. Amy is very nice however, always willing to work with me and hold out the phone calls so I can make the payment. But if you think Greentree is bad, then AVOID Wells Fargo Auto-they are WORSE!!! And known for calling in loans 7-8 months early.
