This # is not a scam or a hoax! It is Suntrust Bank.  Typically they will call if you are late with a payment.... and this is the correct # for them.  Again, not a scam, or a hoax.  They are asking for last 4 digits of social security to verify that you are indeed who they need to speak with...so they are not giving out personal & private information to someone...who shouldn't have it.  Especially because its a banking personal matter.

Just got a call from this munber saying they were from a local radio station  and were looking for participants for the 'Chum FM Listeners Club' because they wanted to send a few lucky listeners to Barbados.  I don't listen to this station and told them so.  So they asked to be put through to anyone else in the office that does.  I put them on hold and tried to look up the number.  They hung up.  So I called the number and a recording said "This number is not in service".  Wow.  So people will go to great lenghts to try to scam people.  Sad.

I know what you mean about the 25 calls in an 11 hour period.  This number keeps calling everyday, including Sunday!  Calls usually start exactly at 8 a.m., but sometimes they're as early as 6.  We've gotten calls as late as 11:30 p.m. and even a few at 12:30 and 2 a.m!
I get so mad at the phone, I've disconnected it a few times just to have some peace.  They at least use to wait until the answering machine picked up before hanging up but now even before I get to the phone to see who it is, they hang up.  There's never any message.
We had our home loan with them for 7 years, and there were a couple of times we were late but always caught up, yet they sold our contract to a collection agency who we have to deal with now.  Still we have constant calls from this number.   It drives me insane!

Rec'd call from this number.  As soon as I answered, they hung up.  A few minutes later, my cell phone rang.  Same thing happened.  Who the heck is doing this???

Just got the same call.  Said they needed to verify the last four of my social to be able to speak to me.  Sounded suspicious. Then wanted to verify my mailing address.  I told them I wouldn't give out personal information.

After some digging and calling SunTrust myself, found out the number was from SunTrust collections; she also provided me the name of the person the number is assigned to.  I called another SunTrust number and they routed me to this person.  Turns out I had made a payment for my equity credit line through another bank's bill pay but it was credited to the wrong account so they were calling me because I had a "late payment".    In my case, it was legit.

Here's a new one to add to the oddness of it all! I found a sealed 5x3 plain white envelope taped to my front door with "Private" across the top & underlined, my name misspelled, street & city all written in pencil. Inside written on a sticky note it said, "Please call Mr. Chase Fields 1-877-654-9211, & date". I found all of you when I crossed checked the number. 1st & 2nd is with Suntrust & no I don't like them much. They choose to make their branches inefficient, now they can't tell you what your past due balance is only the present. So you if you pay what the their teller says you owe, boom more late fees & credit reporting. I paid what they said, knowing it was short, pulled in their parking lot & called them. Girl said, "Oh yes, the bank employees can only see what current last bill states not any past due amounts." Really? So I paid over the phone the older amount & they wanted to charge me a processing fee. No way, waive that for not doing your job! I'm current so don't know who, why or what they are doing.

I transfer callers to the local police non-emergency #, the FTC main # or the DoNotCall.gov #.  That way I'm not tying up someone's fax line.

SunTrust is horrible.  It got so bad I closed 5 accounts that I had with them for over 30 years.  Then the idiots "forgot" to cancel the debit cards, so there were charges that I had been paying monthly with the card that were paid, and I had already made other payment arrangements.  Then they tried to stick me with an account maintenance fee on a closed account!  There was also a charge for $295 that showed up as ITEM PAID - no explanation and they couldn't tell me what it was for, so I told them they would just have to eat it.  I'll be glad when the day comes I can pay off my equity line and really be done with them for good.

I just answered the call by mistake...the person asked if so and so was available. He used my maiden name and I haven't used that name in 12 years. I knew something  not right so I told him no one here by that name. He hung up and I blocked that number. I went through my caller ID list and found that number .  called several times from beginning of November. Just block the number. I have a Panasonic phone that has that feature. The phone companies block feature does not work on all numbers. so it is a waste of money.

This puts Suntrust in violation of the Fair Credit Collections Act of 1993 after I informed them to cease and desist all communication except mail.  I am considering a class action if others may be interested.

Suntrust Bank is ridiculous. You make a payment on a LOC within their system and it takes them 5 days to update your file. They call continuously without a message and it's harassment. Effective....somewhat but really if it's paid within the grace period shown on their loan docs. Why harrass your customers?

I found this site after Googling the telephone number that popped up on my cell phone, both yesterday and today. I see that many say it's from a company claiming to be SunTrust.  I thought it odd that they were calling my cell, because they never have before.  Yesterday, I allowed the phone to ring until it hit voice mail.  No message was left.  Today, I just clicked 'ignore call'.
I am used to SunTrust calling my house/land-line phone on a monthly basis, about a week before our bill is due.  We are not late on any payment, so if this number is telling people they are from SunTrust Collections, it has to be a scam.  Especially since, as far as I know, SunTrust has never had my cell phone number.  Cell numbers are very easy to locate these days, so I assume that's how it was acquired.  Be careful out there!

Yep - every single month they call before the due date.  They have now begun calling my call phone, instead of the house/land-line.  It IS very annoying, especially when we pay it, in person at the bank, every month on the day its due.  This is just out and out harassment.  Vary bad for their public relations.

Thanks for this information!  This number calls no less than 5 times a day, and often more. We also have the same accounts with SunTrust. Very glad that you have shared this. Wish there was a way to put a stop to this find of thing. It's wrong!!!!

Does anyone think 23 calls in an 11 hour period is excessive?

My mortgage payment is due on the 15th and I always pay it before the 30th to avoid any penalties. Suntrust knows this ... they have all the records.

Why would these A$$WIPE$ make this many calls and leave no message???

They are real A$$WIPES, calling about 25 times in one day.

I've never seen an operation like this. No wonder they just made the government's S#!T L!$T for all the mortgage frauds.

Their balance sheet is weak and the government is getting ready to trounce the A$$WIPES with some major league fines!

They just called our office and when I answerred, I got an automated message telling me that I was receiving a call...(no joke) didn't say from who, and asked that I hold and stay on the line.  Nope...I don't do that.  If you want to talk to me, then respond with the real person that is initiating the call or just don't bother to call.  I just assumed it was a solicitation call b/c that is what it usually is when they start with an automated recording.

Getting calls from this number. Do not live in the U.S. Never heard of Sun Trust. Don't have an Equity Line of Credit. Obviously scammers are riding on this number to procure illicit information. Don't fall prey . . .

I totally dislike suntrust and took my business  my back to the credit union!
And if every one of you would do the same to these banker fatcats maybe then they realize that we, the 'little people' can make a difference! I started calling SunTrust intead SunDisTust!
They sent me a letter last year jan asking me all these sensitive financial questions regarding my income, debts etc, and adding that according to "their agreement with me" I had an obligation to furnish them with that imfo...IF I signed anything like that, t
hen that was over 10 yrs ago with  my home equity line of  credit and in my opinion the statue of limitations nulled that agreement and I was not even considering giving that info no matter who they are!  The following month when making my payment I noticed that those fat&%\s closed my line of credit That did it! So you all MUST do the same instead of getting frustrated and bi*** about it.!

It is Suntrust with a "reminder call" if your payment is a couple days past the payment date.

You have a 15 day "grace period" and there are no penalties associated until the grace period lapses.

I told the b!tch speaking with a heavy Indian accent that I don't need a reminder call as I am well aware of when the payment is due ... and, am well aware of the grace period.
