I just got off the phone with them. They scared me and I thought they would come serve me papers. Is this real?

I ALSO HAVE BEEN GETTING CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER.LEAVING MESSAGES ABOUT SEND OUT A WARRENT FOR MY ARREST IF I DONT START SENDING THEM PAYMENTS.THEY EVEN CALLED MY WIFE AND SCARED THAT SHE IS IN TEARS THAT THEY ARE GOING TO ARREST ME.THERE THREATS IS AGAINST THE LAW.WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THIS?

Got 2 similar calls as Ruth.  Received a call last week from 'Jeff Vanderbilt' with the Tarrant County Sheriffs Department.  The first call said to call 877 664-0717 ext 407.  Received a second call today that said to call 888 503-1045 ext 407.

THIS IS A SCAM.  Do not pay these crooks a dime.  They are only trying to scare you into giving them your hard-earned money. Ruth says it's illegal to call you at work, but this is NOT a legitimate collector.  They are posing as law enforcement, which is a CRIMINAL matter; not a civil matter like a collector calling and speaking to your boss or co-workers!

Got a call from a Tim Lewis claiming he was with Shelby County Processing Summons. Said he would be serving me with papers and so on and gave this 877 number to call. When I called the number a recording said Creditors. I also called the Shelby County Clerks office and they of course have never heard from him. I assume it a payday loan company I have not been able to pay. Still it leaves you feeling shaky but if you do get a call remember the worst they can do is garnish your wages. They can NOT arrest you for being in debt. Also they may actually contact your boss and other people at your work which is illegal but as they use "front" phone numbers it's almost impossible for the BBB to catch them.
